If the winx reboot is anything to go by, Bubblegum will probably end up in a fight with her sisters, complaining how they don't understand how hard it's to lead a normal life with(out) superpowers, or something along those lines.
I love how Blossom looks like Mrs. Bellum in a way(reddish-pink suit, long legs, a belt around her shoulder), I can definitely see her as Mayor's deputy and hangs around his offices when she's not fighting crime.
"Buttercup doesn't actually have a unique ability" Um actually, she can curl her tongue, and yes that was the whole plot of an episode. And ngl it works for the tough looking sweet girl you made her just as a funny thing to the camera. Also if you need another arc after Bliss.... My suggestion is Bunny. Cause after Bliss and Utonium have their angst, it would force the girls to confront that they've done just the same thing but even worse (or maybe, even scarier, someone would find the cloth scrap and would revive her)

Not even mentioning the horrors of the original with predatory lesbian stereotypes, hyper sexualisation, and all the BS with making Utonium and the girls not a loving family. I barely know anything about the original powerpuff girls, but making the mad scientist a good father was more subservsive and interesting than playing Frankenstein straight

Honestly I imagined bubbles would be a vet, or run a animal shelter. Buttercup would be a model for clothing or own a repair shop. As for blossom, I personally always thought she would take up a teacher role, maybe to kids who have powers. Like the amount of times that city is covered in some toxic slime, am surprised no one has powers yet.
That would be a great plot actually????? With the sheer amount of weird stuff that happens to them and their class mates it’s a wonder that none of the other people in PowerPuff Girls have powers besides other adults/entities/that one Roach Coach guy. Plus, we had a whole episode with that Elmer kid turning into a glue monster, so kids ARE being affected, it’s just temporary to keep the girls as the main heroes

You're a genius, a literal genius. The cynical superhero thing is good when done well, but it's pretty overblown by this point by things like The Boys, Umbrella Academia, and sometimes even DC (dark and cynical is kind of their whole thing). But this is a great take on things being "realistic" (as much as you could be with superheroes) but not bleak. Some people portray ex heroes as scorned actors and hasbeens, but most go on to do their own thing like becoming athletes or something like how you portrayed here.
I personally think if they were to do it live action, they should quit going the straight laced route and try being more zany and colorful like an Edgar Wright film or something from Spy Kids.
I think professor making Bunny as the new powerpuff girl cause He's lonelyand misses being a father would give blossom, buttercup and bubbles the same feeling as bliss. That they were replaced may that be by their father or by the media.
Is Prof. Utonium still a relatively great dad? Maybe secretly he’d been trying to get Bliss back for years, and due to the shame of letting the government take her never told the others. Maybe the government lied about being what’s best for her, and in the Professor’s desperation and wanting to do right by Bliss he let them. Or maybe the government would fake correspondence between him and Bliss so he wouldn’t suspect anything, or make him think Bliss grew to hate him and cut contact, when in reality Bliss was heartbroken and waiting for her dad to come back for her. So Professor Utonium is still a good guy overall, he want just young, made mistakes and was manipulated.
I could imagine the fight scene with bliss and blossom, bliss absolutely destroying her and then like a cliche blossom suddenly aims toward a chandelier causing it to fall to give her enough time to run away. I really wish more animated reboots would be made as well because even though CGI has improved a lot over the years you would still get more creative freedom with animation.
This video came to my recommendation and seeing it from beginning to end, I loved every ounce of it. You gave reason to the details of both the design and the stories. If I may, I'll provide two thoughts: 1 - You can still make Blossom run the Townsville elections to be the mayor and have her outfit be inspired by the wrongfully cut-out Ms. Sara Bellum. 2 - Like with Blossom, if HIM is the villain who gets defeated at the end, you can give Bliss a redemption arc or time to heal and get along with the Utonium Sisters, and maybe, they tell her about Bunny. It'll be your choice to give her like a side bow/bunny scrunchie as an honor for the lost Utonium sister and welcome Bliss to the Utonium Family. Again, it's your choice as everything in this video is fun to listen to while drawing and the artstyle is SUPER unique ^^ -Giftbox

I apologize if I’m barging in on this conversation, but I really like what you both came up with and I wish to add my thoughts to the conversation. I think another reason as to why Bliss’s character is controversial is the fact that she has a purple color scheme like Bunny. I feel as though many people might not be happy with this due to the possibility of the creators of the PPG 2016 reboot attempting to replace Bunny with Bliss. Which might have angered some people due to Bunny being a beloved character. I think that in order to avoid the feeling of replacing Bunny, and to give Bliss her own identity, I think that she should get her own color. If there were to pick a color for Bliss, I would pick orange due to it being both the one color scheme apart of the rainbow that hasn’t been taken by any of the PPG’s, RRB’s, or wannabe PPG’s *cough* *cough* Princess *cough* *cough*, and it also would match her ferocity and explosiveness. I also feel as if Bliss having orange eyes would make her more intimidating due to them having a similar vibe as a tigress- beautiful to look at, but deadly if you get too close. One last thing I would like to add is that I feel that the concept of changing Bliss’s color scheme could be seen as the breaking of the cycle regarding both ‘replacing’ or being ‘replaced’ by siblings. And that instead of replacing loved ones and having them be forgotten, they (the Utonium sisters) can come together to unite as a family while remembering the members that were lost. I would like to end this by saying that these are only ideas that I think would be nice to add to Elmushterri’s story. I enjoyed your video and I feel as if you’re very underrated. wait, what if Buttercup was a volleyball champ🥺 as the athletic sister, she could be 6'2 and the best setter!! I always knew volleyball teams to be super chill, at games we'd goof around and even smile at each other in the parking lot! We usually slam our bodies to the ground and even run backwards sometimes just to hit the ball, I think that would make for some pretty good Buttercup action scenes
I love this concept, I've always headcannonned that buttercup since she really gets the short end of the stick with the powers has more of their basic powers, faster flight stronger lazers, higher super strength, things you wouldn't notice as a kid but increases later on as they grew up. I really like your idea of her being into sports which are about fairness since she got treated a little unfairly when the prof named them

I use the Spectra brush on procreate (it’s just any rough sorta brush on other softwares) and draw the shape of the glow, then duplicate the layer and set them both to “Add”, then rub out random bits for effect!
This sounds awesome! The designs and the fight scenes are well crafted and the story you came up sounds interesting. I definitely would still wish that the Professor wasn’t changed to be a bad father for the CW show since him caring for the girls and doing his best to motivate them drove some of the plot of the original show very well. (Plus, seeing good father figures on screen is always a good thing) It’s also nice how well you integrated Bliss into the plot and made her stand out from the main trio because of her powers. The story of Bliss in the reboot also rewrote some of the canon in the original show that felt a little awkward, so you fleshed it out pretty well.
Oh wow. This series was, quite frankly, my childhood- one of my first ever hyperfixations, which I gained at a time when the series was long sense over. Generally I'm hesitant to trust a reboot, but your take actually sounds wonderful. I love how you portrayed each of the girls in terms of their future. Bubbles striving for some kind of cottage core lifestyle absolutely makes sense for her and your design wonderfully conveys both the newly gained maturity and her still thriving compassion. I think Blossom clinging to her old role makes a lot of sense, seen as she's always had a bit of a pride problem and took her role as leader very seriously. I think my favorite is what you did with Buttercup though- it would be so, ridiculously easy to make her grow up into a rude and edgy person. Her getting super into sports and really honing her people-person skills is a direction I absolutely adore with her. I really hope you talk more about these ideas, if you expand on them at all. It's been a long time since these three girls were on my mind. Most of the time when I've revisited them, the updates have been lacking at best. It feels incredible to see them again, but with actual care and heart put into it. This long ramble is all just to say- thank you. This was a fantastic little video and I very much look forward to what you'll have in store for the future.
Id see the rowdy ruff boys as reformed heroes who would usally be accompained by 90's rap but theyd be framed by bliss and that would end up forcing them into a fight with bliss but butch and boomer would get killed leaving brick injured and angry turning him back into a villan coming after bliss in the second season
Being a childhood fan of the Powerpuff Girls and growing up on it I very much enjoyed this your redesigns are absolutely beautiful your story that you have for them is very unique and I enjoy it I wish I could make stories like that❤
Damn, this rewrite is friggin bomb as hell 💀 I really liked it!! It’s crazy cuz I feel like I’d rather watch a PPG reboot with this sort of plot line rather than the original. It’s fascinating how most fan rewrites of the PPG reboot collective agree on making Bliss into some sort of villain. Oh, and I LOVE your art, the redesigns are so intriguing! Great job!

I really like these designs and story changes you made!! I never watched the power puff girls growing up, but the reboot you’ve come up with feels much more accurate than whatever the heck that live action is doing. Also the way you colour things is so PRETTY
Judging by what kind of story this rewrite is, that what I imagine happens - The inciting incident starts with Blossom giving a 20th anniversary speech over the news, its broadcast gotten all the way over to the lab where Bliss was held and experimented on. Overhearing the news, it made Bliss, who so far was fairly quiet and secluded, finally snap, and she kills all staff on site while she breaks her way out. Makes for a good villain introduction. Bliss could kidnap the professor for revenge, wanting him to watch as she tears his "beloved" daughters one by one, and make it public for the whole world to witness. It'll up to the rest of the girls to find out where Bliss is keeping him hostage, while simultaneously surviving her wrath.
I didn't watch the power puff girls for my childhood, but I knew about it for a very long time. This vid was very interesting to watch and I love the your designs and art style :)

I just want to say that right off the bat, I absolutely adore your art style and how you translated the girls into adult versions of themselves!! I also really appreciate what you said about how not every reboot needs to be live action, as I also get really frustrated when companies try to make everything live action instead of animated. All in all I really enjoyed this video and your interpretation of making a powerpuff reboot and I just absolutely adore your art style

yeah I really agree with it being a stupid move that the cw show made them all disillusioned/deconstruction of "what happens when these girls grow up" type shtick. Mainly because the main joke of the show was these cute, little girls violently beating up monsters & villains, thats literally the comedy of the situation, (they were originally called the whoopass girls in the very 1st pilot and instead of chemical x it was a can of whoopass). the show was trying to be a dark subversion like watchmen but completely missed the fact that the show was based on a farcical idea, they were taking a farcical idea and taking it 100% seriously. sidenote the story you came up with seems very interesting & has potential, i'd try seeing about making a webcomic or something similar around it if you can.

I think bubbles should remain one of, if not the strongest girl - the tank of the current group even though she lives a passive lifestyle. She is canonically the strongest. She is hardcore.

i actually at first thought they were just lightskinned with lighting causing them to appear ‘darker’, but when they came and explained bliss that’s when i realised they were literally drawn with darker skin 💀

I know I’m late to this video, but this reimagined version of Bliss is SO GOOD. It gives her a character arc, an actual dynamic with the triplets, a compelling place in the world, and a reason to cheer for her.
I'll be happy to report that the CW Powerpuff Girls series was ultimately cancelled and completely scrapped after people realized that the premise they made was absolute dogsh*t.
No joke, I legit forgot about the live action PPG’s movie, and then did it again while listening to your version of the story! 🤣 And my only decent viewing of this show is of the reboot. That’s how good your story and redesigns is!
I could see buttercup as a soccer girl(just like in PPG-Z) So we have the farmer girl, the biker girl, the leader controlling girl, and the forgotten girl
I hate this trend in media that "In order for something to be mature it needs to be centered around s@x and vi@lence". While it is important and big part of our maturance, and I dont deny it, it's not central and there's a lot more to unpack. I also dont like how they made Profecor Utonium this money hungry man who used his children for marketing. Just let him be a loving father. Theres not many descent father figures in media, so it's sad that they made him crappy. Also I like your character ideas, especially for Bubbles and Buttercup. Them forgetting how to fight and then learning it again sounds so interesting to me. And yes, I love how you made sisters more similar not only with skintone, but also with curly hair structure

Like if they ended up leaving Townsville after they were defeated by the power puff girls deciding to leave and be their own people without mojo or him telling them what to do. So when they return they aren’t the same they were and are nicer to blossom bubbles and buttercup. At least that’s what I can come up with on the fly.
Kinda feels like they make these edgey live action reboots for men. Maybe not intentionally for men, but they style them based off of the sort of edgey superhero action films that are geared towards men. I think they believe "adults don't want CaRToOnS" so they make them live action instead of animated, which is a shame.
I just want to say I love ALL of this!💕 beautiful art! I love the designs, it fits all of the girls so well!! Especially Bliss’s design. I was never a fan of Bliss because I didn’t really like her design and didn’t like how it felt like she was replacing Bunny, who’s a favorite character of mine. But I love the new design, because I really didn’t like her hair ether, it looks so much better now! I love the color and how wildly curly it is, also you gave her this vibe like she’s intimidating and you can’t tell if she’s a good guy or bad guy, which gives her this sense of mystery. Also surprisingly I think Bliss fits in this more mature setting better, it really allows for her story to a take a much more interesting direction to explore. I also really like the added detail of scars on the girls. And I love the story and how the girls ended up, I especially love the idea one of them stopped using their powers and forgot how to use them, so her character development is to relearn, but meanwhile she has to get creative in fights. You really get the show and it’s characters. Gosh this makes me wish this was a real animated show, I would love to watch it😫

You know what I hate so much more than the fact of bliss nobody has mentioned bunny nobody nobody has mention that they wear the same exact color scheme. Nobody has mention that if hey maybe they should’ve just took the design from bunny and just made her the prototype or something They also have the same theme of both of them being unstable, but the dumb thing about it is that bunny freaking dies because of it she was too unstable. She exploded, but Bliss know she’s just over powered, despite the fact that in context, she should’ve exploded by how many times she had a tantrum
