Great video mate, thanks for the info on the vibrant silencer, also looks great to look at from the rear nice and shiny 😍 I think one of these is definitely on the cards once I've had the japspeed decat fitted!
The tone as you pointed out is a much bigger issue than the audible volume, especially inside the car. That extra 2db "after" could literally be the difference in road surface, unless you were on the exact same road on both test. I can attest to how annoying the low pitch drone can be with a 3" pipe so any reduction is welcomed.
Spot on dude, the tip out the back has helped too, but that cold start annoyance I told you about starts at 97db dropping to 87ish before it was 100db dropping to 96db So yeah brilliant overall and should be track compliant hopefully now
Thanks mate certainly interested me doing this as nobody else has really documented this. And there’s ambiguity at what and how actually fits on the FN2
83.7Db :O can hear the improvement it as soon as its fitted. The 6Db drop on idle is a lot, but the addition of drone reduction added at speed its removing a frequency range that is unpleasant to humans. your spot on with anlaysis. Youve been a dj too or electronica musician huh ;)
@@markmanderson I suck as I have no Rhythm lol. But I love the science behind acoustics. I’ve full sound deadened and sound proofed the entire floor and rear quarters in my FN2 which has made the ride nicer too
It would have been better doing it on the same stretch of road, I believe that was the difference in noise levels now. The car is far more comfortable now at all levels.
You might have opened up a little niche market for more vids there mate, you have a lot of knowledge , listening to people asking all sorts questions today, if you put that knowledge to video, we'll who knows🤔👍
Just as a pinned comment here after running it for four months and reflecting. For me it’s paid for itself already it’s such a great mod for a touch of peace around town. And differentials in the video could be simply down the the fact I had my supercharger mapped again. Or the road surface as I didn’t drive the same route to Nuneaton. It went in with 6-7psi and rolled out at 14psi so it’s physically flowing more air and making more noises BUT came out quieter ❤
Hi, I am currently looking into an exhaust for fn2. Only a k20 so not sure. I was looking at 70mm teg but saw a 3" tpw for sale. Wondering if you think I'll have any issues with power? I have 421teg, rrc, intake and stage2ecu. Just missing an exhaust.
In your case mate the Tegiwa 70mm would be perfect, I think you’d be maybe 1-2 bhp off what the 76mm system can achieve, for double the price. If you intend to supercharge or turbo down the road then I would recommend the 76mm
@@Matty_Champwhite Thanks, I've seen the tpw 3" going 2nd hand for 650 or maybe 600 and 70mm teg being 550 so just wondering if buying the 3" would be worth it? I was thinking k24 but I don't know when that would even happen and if I decide to as I'm moving to an fn2 from r18 next month so mods and stuff will happen eventually.
@@JannyUK I’ve seen that one for £600 too, 100% worth it mate. Made much better quality than the Tegiwa 70mm, it should last a decade or more. The TPW is mega loud though FYI Much louder than a Tegiwa 70mm
The TPW is exactly the same as the dynodaze 3” they get them from the same supplier. The milltek 3” (civic cup) is to be avoided on a road car IMO Incase it’s that one. It’s full of slip joints and needs welding to stop it driving you mental banging on the chassis
@@Matty_Champwhite Teg x Miltek 3"? No don't think that one. Guy says its TPW 3" which I think might be from a Supercharger car. Irtezas selling it. Says TPW 3" so I'm guessing the one thats £975 but will double check.
