Hey man just please be careful with that welded diff. My old set up with welded diff ran low 11s couldve went 10s but had no cage. I almost died because a axle let go and the car went straight into a power pole breaking it in 2. If anything check your splines regularly. Mine were sheared. I drove mine often on the street.
This is actually a very good point I had a very low-power naturally-aspirated d-series build and I used the original axles with had almost 300,000 miles on them I would do burnouts and pulls constantly and there were actually a couple occasions where my axle popped out thankfully nobody got hurt
hello, good job on fixing the trans no big issues, i want to know if the small bearing break what the reason for welding the diff? your car sound strong and fast, nice car for midnight runner not to street race could be dangerous fast engine
Been thinking of welding the diff on mine too. Since i cant afford an lsd. Is the car that much harder to control under WOT? I imagine it could steer really hard to one side if the road isnt even.
Didn't notice any difference under power. Slow turns was awful. I actually took it out about 2 weeks after I put it in. I wouldn't recommend it on a street car.
Dude, who cut your o-ring grooves in the block? No machine shop in my area or a 100 mile radius has the circular CNC bit with the carbide that adjusts to cut perfect circles in diameters smaller than 3.75". I REALLY want to get my block o-ringed after going big stud, but I can't find anyone in NC to do this because they only ever specialize in big bore V8's engines or performance diesel stuff. Just curious who did yours. Before you went o-ringed on your big stud setup, how long did your head gaskets typically last at 500whp with small studs and no o-ring out of curiosity?

The head gaskets were holding no problem before I pulled it apart it wasn't until I pulled it apart that I had head gasket issues probably due to how hard I torque the head but I decided to do the big studs and o-ring the block so that I could turn the boost up
I want to do the same! But my power level goal isnt anywhere near as high as yours, 375-400whp at most. My block is CSS'd and big studded, but I really just wanted to knock out o-ringing and go copper head gasket in a reasonable time frame so I could mess around in higher power levels if I wanted and not worry about blowing a gasket. It doesn't look like it's going to be the case though. SCE gaskets who make the solid copper D series gaskets has no demand for o-ringed D series engines (lol), so each one is custom built and they advertise a 6-7 week turn around time. Everything else is ready to be put back together, except the final decision on cylinder sealing! I'm probably just gonna say f it and put a Cometic MLS in there, torque the studs to ARPs SRT4 spec and call it built. I'd love to take a drive down there in mine (family in FL) and check out your car sometime! Post on your youtube page if you ever decide to go to any car meets in the future! I'll drive down to check it out!

is 3rd and 4th straight cut gears? could you tell me the pros and cons to that im building a turbo d15 ef for the mountains and have been looking into straight cut gears!
Yes. 3rd and 4th straight cuts from MTM close gear. It's a lot strong because the base of the teeth are wider. Only real con is maybe the wine when in those gears.
