I like finding videos like these just so I can see what needs to be done to fix something. I watched the video, decided it was gonna be a pain, and will be bringing it to a mechanic. Saved me a personal headache so thanks man.

Hello, very good, helpful video, l happen to have this exact van, and l've already gone through hell, and high water, trying to get it back to operating properly, and smoothly, without any slop, and failing miserably, learning more about it, the hard, and expensive way. By chance, do you know where l can get an exploded view layout diagram of exactly how eall of the internal parts inside the column is supposed to be located, ? I know where everything goes, from the pivot pins, up to, including the steering wheel, but unfamiliar, with the bottom end of the column's lower bearing and race goes. Frustrating! Thank you.

Hi, how did you reattach the horn cable? Mine stopped working after removing the steering wheel. Also, I couldn't figure out how to repair the high beam switch. Do I have to take off the cover after removing the steering wheel clock spring, etc.?

The horn cable has this little twist tab, you stick it in, then twist it, but it's pretty common for it to break. The high beam switch is actually down the steering column, you don't need to take the wheel off at all. Look under the dash, you can identify it by a metal rod that rests on top of the switch.

@@316Autos Thanks! The high beam switch bracket (plastic piece) behind the rod is broken. So I think I may need to take the steering wheel cover off. Or replace the whole mechanism. Not sure.

Those airbags have materials to detonate even if the battery is unplugged, right? Also raving review?

Yes, but only if it's still plugged in to the car, since the capacitors store enough charge to deploy. Either tonight or tomorrow night for the raving review.

You didn't show how you fixed your headlights.

I don't think I actually did. Once I got inside the column, it clicked in my brain that the high beam switch isn't in there, but down on the side of the column, near the brake pedal. It's not super hard to get at it, especially compared to the turn signal.
