1. Agreed with you on the p*rn, 100%. Its so normalized and its weird!!! 2. Ceiling fans usually have a built in light fixture! So its a 2 in 1 and there are cords that come of it to turn the light and fan on and off
Thanks for the truth bomb about the “corn” lol I feel like more people need to consider the effect on their health. It should be talked about more for sure.
You just made me realize my current desk must be about 40 years old. Used to be my dad's computer desk, then my brother's school/homework desk, then I took it with me when I moved out. Ah yes, the joys of growing up poor. Still works? Keep using.
This lot IRKS me. Del sol valley would’ve been the perfect world to have that one celebrity neighborhood be the biggest lots in the game with this small neighborhood consisting of a bunch of tiny lots. Glad I have for rent now bc I built a motel for this world and it just fits so well
Boss: "hey Suzy, you done with that build in del sol yet?" Suzy: "uuuhm no. I'm still working on the code for the core game play." Boss: "that's fine, but could you get on that soon? The pack comes out in.... 10 minutes."
Wow, I didn’t realize ceiling fans weren’t everywhere. The ceiling spinning thing is a ceiling fan. There is normally a light in the center so that is also your ceiling light. It works like a normal fan but has two setting to either cool the room by pushing the cold air down, or warm the room by pushing the warm air down. Don’t ask me how it spinning in a different direction make this work, but it totally does.
Warm air rises. So down to cool and reversing it pushes the warm air up, across the ceiling, and down the walls. In Australia it is often used in addition with air-conditioning. Mostly to move air around the room. I love that your builds look more realistic.
@@Doctor_Winter as soon as I read your explanation I rolled my eyes at myself. Oh duh, I totally knew that 😂 I’ve only had ceiling fans in my bedroom before. I’m in the US
Im in the UK and had 2 in my childhood lounge, in a 60's house...we only used it maybe twice a year on the hottest days of the year. You do find them occasionally in old builds but theres almost no point here
Yes, ceiling fans generally come with lights attached to them hanging down just under the blades. Older models usually have cords hanging down from them, one to turn the light on and off, and one or two to control the speed and direction of the fan. Also I live in Canada which is arguably as cold as the UK, and they are pretty common here. Usually only used in the summertime, though.
Omg. The lamps having cords has blown my mind. Your absolutely right!!! That will be in my mind from now on when I build, I'll be putting lamps near walls for the plugs....
Omg Satch 🥺 I’m such a strong advocate against corn, it ruins your brain and aids in grape culture by distancing men’s version of women from reality. So glad to hear you be so honest about it. Love you even more now
@@kyradelaneyy yes exactly. So many terrible things to even make a list come from it. Happy we have a big platform mention it. Especially in a time where it’s so encouraged.
I started putting kids stuff close to where most of the action is because it takes them so many in game minutes to walk anywhere. If I want to take the kids to the park with all the actions dropping off and walk time, everything needs to be right there.
Ok, so here is a little tip for you. Use a floating shelf and move objects to place it just on top of the cabinets, then put objects on the shelf so you don't have to move them up and down. Works for the fridge too. You can then put things from your inventory on the shelves so there are places to put all the stuff that is collected or bought.
The kids toys everywhere is spot on. And I put toys through the house when doing family play in sims. I just rolled over in bed onto some legos. They take over your house. My son has ruined my algorithm on RU-vid because he uses my account and subscribes to everything. So yes, children in general are everywhere lol.
Ceiling Fans are a must in Aus, as well as air-con usually, our fans normally have an inbuilt light in the centre of them, both the light and fan are hardwired in to a switch & dial on the wall, fans usually have 3 speeds, low, med, high, most of the time they are on medium, you can get fans with remotes too
😂 I feel like I've been asking for throw pillows, shutters and a working toaster since 2017. However, I'm a little afraid to actually get those in the future because the small telescope came with a dramatic meteor death in a be careful what you wish for kind of way.😂 I just want my SIM to make toast & homemade jam but I'd don't want him/her/they to die horribly.😂
You are quite a builder Satch give yourself more recognition! I can't build, I bought the Eco Livestyle just to make my ugly boxes to look like containers lol
“Who has a bar in their house” I live in Canada and older houses from like the 50s and 60s almost always have a bar in them lol. My family personally just uses it as storage tho lmao.
I love your building! And your build process, the commentary is gold and hilarious. Your sense of humor makes the videos fun and I look forward to them! I love the build, you’re too humble!
You're more of a builder then you think you are! This is lovely! And random, I know, but ever since I visited my besty in AZ years ago, I've always wanted more exterior wallpapers and such with bright pops of colors for other styles besides, like, cottages, haha.
Home bars: Perth, Western Australia went through a MASSIVE bar craze for middle upper class homes in the mid 80s. the five houses I have lived in (including rentals) that happen to be from that era all have bars, pretty much all my school friends had at least one bar. yes, at least one, many had two!
You can also piece together an open closet with the dream home decor and a door frame. I always cover it with two of those wall decor type fringe curtains or a curtain that is open for the Sim to be able to go in.
I tried to play in Del Sol Valley once, then i got a close up of this house after i moved Sims in and wanted to bleach my eyes after throwing up, if i tried bulldozing this lot and building something else it would probably end up looking out of place which is really my biggest problem with it
In all of my builds, I put in some kind of chicken ornament as a nod to my childhood love for the video game Fable 🙈🐔 Ps. All of my sims builds also include lavender 💜😂 #savethebees
Satch i love all of your vids. I watch your channel almost every day & youre one of my fave sims RU-vidrs now!! Pls never stop making vids lol just so funny and right up my alley in terms of content
Every single person in my family and circle of friends here in Canada has a bar in their downstairs rec room, except me because I dont have the room since buying my new tiny townhouse but I had a bar in my apartment rental before I bought my house. Us Canadians really love to drink. And since its winter 10 months of the year, theres nothing to do here all winter long but drink lol. I miss my bar so much!
Ceiling fans do often come with lighting. Sometimes just a single light, or typically with a small multi directional lights that have glass coverings. Newer ones have led lighting in them. I use them even in winter here. You can reverse the direction of a ceiling fan to pull hot air down in winter and circulate the heating or air conditioning more effectively in the space.
A lot of houses in the rural areas of midwestern America look like the exterior of the original. To me, it is one off the most realistic looking houses. The inside is usually a little different.
I love ceiling fans.... always have cuz it gives a nice breeze without pointing it straight at your eyes like most fans do. But definitely needs a light added to it =) And in the states (USA) most homes have hvac in their homes, which takes care of heating and cooling with central air and a cooler out back. Best way to deal with housing needs I have ever seen... Now in Portugal where they got nothing!!!! Usually not even insulation 😲 😲
Late to the party but when my Grandpa bought their last detached house he finished the basement himself and had a bar. He also had a mini fridge behind it and shelves for his collection of empty bottles and Shotglasses. I now have all his Shotglasses and they live in a apartment style condo. When I was growing up they stored soda in the bar fridge. He never was much of a drinker so I'm not sure why he wanted a bar but it was cool.
I only like starter homes if I'm specifically challenging myself to not cheat at all. Like a sim with a fresh start and I'm trying to take the game slow with long lifespan.
Some fans have ceiling lights. But for the ones that don't, we place recessed lights in 4 corners of the ceiling or place 2 long ceiling/recessed lights next to the fan.
I literally used florwalsims builds for this. She has the best LA inspired lots. Including an apartment. Not fancy LA either, which I love even more. I had no idea about the lavender and bees. I will be getting these flowers for bees. 🐝
I've redone this house and been using it instead for such a long time that I've forgotten what a mess it'd originally been. I suck at building houses, but apparently I could have still scored a job at EA because most of the original builds are so nonsensical and ugly af that my messy houses look like architectonical masterpieces. Love your version!
I just updated the game, I looked at the patch notes only to see they pretty much changed text and edited textures, and fixed some interactions showing up wrong. So many other things to fix, but they choose to fix small problems most players wouldn’t have even noticed.
Omg all I thought of when you mentioned Dexter was that they came out with another season but ten years in the future !! If you haven’t seen it you should!
Couple things, that is HUGE for any of the apartments I have ever lived in, though the closet space is somewhat realistic to me, LOL. And, yes, we used dining chair for years for our desk, that's what most people do. However, not to brag, but I worked at a call center that got new chairs and they gave away the 'broken' or just run down ones, so we got like four of them and used parts on one to make the others whole and cleaned them down good with bleach, and I've had those good office chairs for 15years now. If you watch for offices that are closing or 'remodeling' you can get really good office furniture that way.
Yeah, having double sinks are a thing, but usually in houses that have a bathroom attached to what's considered the master bedroom (these bathrooms are often called master bathroom). They're usually considered 'his and her' sinks because usually the parents will sleep together in the master bathroom, and therefore will share that bathroom. And it's also very common to have lights on a ceiling fan, because usually a ceiling fan will be in the middle of a room and the middle of a room is also the perfect spot to have a light, but not all ceiling fans have lights on them.
All kinds of fans are common in SouthEast Asia - ceiling fans, desk fans, floor fans, standing floor fans, wall fans. Sometimes several at the same time because the heat can be unbearable (even for locals!) especially in the summer. Which is why in most middle class to higher societal classes (am from Manila in the Philippines), most rooms are also airconditioned. Mostly at the very least, all bedrooms. If family income can afford, the living, dining and family rooms as well.
World love to see you work with complete free range, using every pack you want (cause let’s be honest, most of us simmers do in fact have every single pack… for free… live laugh anadius😂❤🎉)
Only house I've seen with an entire bar had a complete setup in the basement with tables and multiple bedrooms connected to the bar. The house was originally a brothel built in the Vegas area (current owners no longer use the basement for such purposes)
Sidenote, Corn is definitly harmful to your brain, you can find planty of articals on the topic. I know that its bad for me but i still do it, is this what smoking feels like? Am i an addict?
Seggs addiction is a very real thing. You should look into it if you want to get help. It stems from childhood trauma. As one that’s been personally affected by it, I know how beneficial it is to seek help and heal. Good luck!
the singular yellow painted wall in the entry way bugs me just as much as the starter home in Windslar, Windenburg. that one has a singular tile in the bedroom that is a completely different type of flooring. beautiful work!
My hot takes for Satch today: I have two sofas in my living room I have two sinks in my master bathroom AND I have the "spinny things" (ceiling fans lmao) in every room of my house but the bathrooms Thanks for the laughs, Satch!!
Every time I visit those Mirage Park neighborhood lots, I always forget it isn't Oasis Springs because it just has that same basegame feel of incompetent building, as evidenced by that one wall section with the yellow paint. Incompetent is definitely the correct word, Satch, because how in the world were we getting full expansion packs with lots like this?
Half way through and I need to answer some of Satch's questions 🤣2 couches or L shaped is common, especially in larger families. Yes it hurts your neck, you move o a better position or lay length wise if you're watching tv. I'm litterally sitting on the side couch of the same set up in my own homw at this moment haha. The entrance way is called a FOY-YAY. It's a French word. Only Americans say FOY-ER (mainly because they are allergic to anything French. I'm looking at you "Freedom Fries" 🤣🤣🤣). The ceiling fans are common as well in Northa America as a whole, not just for cooling, but general air flow, keeps your house fresh. UNLIKE The Sims, real ones have a light built into them, so when I am building and I use one, I stick one of those small sacuer lights in it. As for the cloests, you could make the space, and just use doors. Put shelves in there, clutter the shelves, put boxes, shoes and junk on the floor etc. Then you don't need the other pack closets. 🙂
my uncles old place had a bar, whats worse he never used it. he liked wine better and he had a whole different area for wine and his collecting of it lol
I had mouth full of coffee, when you said what can I say, I'm homosexual, closet is where I belong. Barely avoided spraying coffee everywhere bc I started laughing
I used to feel bad about roofing until I started just looking at houses and stuff in real life. Like, nothing people are doing in the Sims is ANYWHERE as messy as real life roofing, I promise.
