Great Job. Thank you to the person who donated the parts. Bill, I have seen people loose count when vending out of my vantage machine at my motel. You made me giggle. Great job my friend. Love the channel.
Awesome job I also refurbish soda and snack machines for the vending business I own.. lts great to see a older soda machine working strong and back in business...
The only issue with your repair is that cable isn't rates for outdoor use. It will work fine for a while just check the insulation that is exposed to the outside for cracking. But great to see you fixing up this old machine
I was trying to limit my expenses since I was repairing it for free...and I'm sure something else in that machine will die long before that cable cracks.
What painting? This was more like hauling an old jalopy out of the junk yard, and performing the bare essentials to get it to run again, at minimum of expense
I kept looking for the drain tube to see how they do that on these. On my 1957 Vendo 81, it has a tube that goes to a small water tray that has a wafer thing that soaks up the water and evaporates it.
that was a great video.. thanks for saving that old classic... only other thing I would have done is a new piece of bright red vinyl below the selection buttons..entire machine is electro-mechanical.. only computer you had to carry with you was a relay )) BTW call google and tell them to update the street level access.. still showing the BEFORE : )
I just bought DNCB 368, first time owner / tinkerer. Gonna replace the lock latch that had to be drilled out, not sure how operational it is but if you wanna come out to the Minneapolis area we'd love to contribute to your cause (also a big videographer guy). This should be fun, if I haven't watched all of your videos by the weekend I've done something wrong.
Out of all the people who make vending mechanic video's you are the best!!! Have one question if you're willing to answer it I have three Pepsi machines which I know nothing about! and I have 9 ICE and water vending machines here in page AZ which is the home of Lake Powell but the water and ice vending machines I know a lot about them except where to take my old coin mechanisms to have them repaired where do you take your old coin mechanism. hope you keep making more videos I learn a lot from them
Thank you the nice compliments! I've had my coin mechs repaired by vendors exchange www.veii.com/ or D&S vending www.dsvendinginc.com/t-electronicrepair.aspx
Great video! I have an old coke machine that I cant get the buttons to work. I replaced the coin mech and as soon as the correct change is inserted, the machine starts buzzing loudly and the buttons remain unresponsive. Thinking the old wiring is goofed up a bit? Any suggestions? I can send pics or videos of what it's doing!
I bought an old machine with eight selections, the problem with this machine is that the digital numbers that mark the price or say the word sold out are off, what do you think is the cause of this problem, thank you very much and thank you for the answers, also for creating this content that is very helpful
We recently bought an old Dixie Narco coke machine. It worked great for two months until it now only releases from the #1 slot. It cools great and everything else works great. Any ideas?
The motors are in series with each other so you need to check wire continuity after the first motor. It could also be the switch on the second motor. Try swapping the last motor with the second one and see if anything changes.
Bill, where are you finding your cooling decks? I priced one from Royal for a G2 462 machine. They wanted $803 plus shipping. Is there a cheaper alternative? Thanks Subscribed!
Have you tried Vending Works? Cooling Decks direct from Royal have gotten very expensive...but sometimes, they are the only one that has them in stock...and they are new so they last a good long time.
Can you please tell me we’re to source what you are calling the coin deck? I have a similar machine from Pepsi I bought in 1987. She’s worked great for decades. The msn who worked on her every 5-6 years passed. He had installed a new compressor 1 year ago. It worked great 9 mod but then just stopped cooling.
Well, you can try to find a used one on Marketplace or Craigslist...or you can try to find an HVAC tech that can service your deck. A new one would be pricy, but here is the type you would need: vendingworks.com/collections/dixie-narco-compressor-decks/products/dixie-narco-model-300
Hi my name is Joe i have a Dixie narco DN440 i have a problem the bottom's on it stop working now they don't what could be the problem the motors work great
Great job. I have a question. I have a Dixie Narco 368 and I recently replaced the Coinco bill acceptor and coin mechanism with MEI bill acceptor and coin mechanism from another DN 368. The MEI equipment was working properly before I switched it but now MEI bill acceptor has 2 flashes that says it's disabled. Is there something I missed in switching to the other machine? I know the acceptor and coin mechanism are good but why can't I get them to work after switching to another machine?
Did you have the power shut down when you were making the swap? Check your connectors and wires for any breaks. Maybe even use a volt meter. Are you sure there is product in the machine? Is the machine in vend mode or is the door switch bad? You might need to put the coin mech and bill acceptor back in the original machine to confirm they are still working.
I have a Dixie Narco 260 that won’t vend . The vend relay energizes but it won’t dispense product. I have the service manual with wiring diagrams but can seem to track down the problem. Any ideas?
The motors in those old machines are usually in series...so if the first one has a broken connection, none of the motors after it will work. I would really inspect the wires going to the first motor. Maybe even swap the first motor for the last motor. Also make sure your sold out switches are working.
I have a question: I have a vending machine in Canada and I received some Hong Kong 2 dollar coins from my machine which worked in it as 2 Canadien dollars. What can I do with these Hong Kong coins?
Very interesting I am curious to a couple things I just found a Vendo v407 with a trade logo ale 8 a Kentucky family owned company it has lights in it also and 8 buttons 2 large and 6 smaller questions are could I buy new clear buttons as mine are extremely yellow and do the lights come on some how automatically like on a timer so they are only working at night or do they need to be switched on manually because they don’t come on when I plug the machine in when the rest of the machine works fine thank you merry Christmas 👍
Well, you can call vending supply companies and see if they have any "new" old stock buttons for that machine. Companies like Capitol Vending or Snack Attack would be a start. As for the lights, that machine does not have a control board so there would be no timer for the lights. You could probably rig up an in-line timer in the machine if you wanted to. Your lights probably aren't working because it needs new bulbs and a ballast. Almost every used machine I bought needed new bulbs and a ballast.
@Happy Vending Can i install regular or mei bill collector to the coin mech or have it as mei if able to so they both mei ? And do i install four holes to install bill collector or do i install four holes and cut a square out to fit the bill collector through the front ?
Old coin mechs, like the one I put on this machine, have specific bill acceptors that will work with them. You need to check the compatibility list depending on the coin mech you have. You would need to cut a large square hole in the door to install a bill acceptor on this machine.
hello! does the 264-6 need shims for cans? i cant seem to figure it out from the manual. i hadnt tried stacking a bunch in yet, i just assumed it would drop 2 at a time with out a shim.
@@HappyVending this vintage they don't make machines like that no more I seen a Pepsi one that kind of looks like that but a little shorter I really want to restore 💙
@@stephanieramirez9151 This style machine is not old enough to be sought after by collectors...so when they come up on ebay they are usually fairly cheap.
That old coin mech only has two nickel tubes...no quarter or dime tubes. It should have little dip switches on it like the one I put in there. They start at a nickel for the first switch and double from there.
@@HappyVending thank you! I now have no power to the coin mechanism, I assume a red light is on when working. Think I found a manual online or will just replace it. The stickers say what is compatible. It's the s75-9800B.
@@JC-ck6wk Yeah...those mechs are so old that they just aren't reliable anymore....which is why I replaced the one in that machine. Your best bet is to get one like what I put in that machine so that it is also ready for a bill acceptor.
Hay bro I have a dixcy narco 501mc I recently had the bill valadater repair and the coin mec as well when I got them back the little red light didn't come on on valadater or the mec b4 hand only the valadater came on but it flashing 3x now nothen I plug in the michine I hear the valadater come on but no lights not eaven the mec the guy sed the Jones plug was working when he had it.... the michine has no fuse I look every ware it's all macanical nor dose it have a computer I'm at my wits end I wood really appreciate ur advice I think I have a bad Jones plug hit me back please every thing works except the mentioned mec & valadater
Did you have the power off when you connected the mechs? They should have a warranty on the repair. Maybe they weren't repaired correctly. That has happened to me before.
There would be no point using this old coin mech on a newer machine since most new machines use MDB...which this coin mech is not. There are plenty of inexpensive MDB coin mechs available .
@@HappyVendingi have an old Dixie narco machine and was wodering if I can upgrade coin mech from old style to new style but it Jade connector as your in video. And it doesn’t have plate on the side of machine to know which one it is.
@@rickeymorgan2677 No...you will need to find one of the coin mechs with the 9-pin plugs like in my video. You can still find them remanufactured on the internet.
Many locksmiths recommend against graphite because people tend to put in too much and it clogs up the pins over time. Many locksmiths have switched to teflon based lubricants...similar to the one I used in the video.
@@HappyVending Yeah a 24 pack of Pepsi went from $8.99 to $10.99 in the past year in Michigan. plus the deposit 10 cents a can so $13.39 making each can cost around $0.55.
I melted a telephone handset once just having OFF! on my skin while using it. I think there is a warning about OFF! melting plastic on the label or at least there used to be. Hey so, I am going to subscribe... I think if you did more like this, "will it vend" you might be on to something because in general a lot of the videos out here on vending contain a lot of (let's say noise) and are completely unwatchable. I mean, it's gonna be hard to get people to let you do this and man you were out in the sun constantly it looked like, no shade. I'am not expecting more videos like this but it would be good. The videos in the school have all been fine but I think seeing a machine get fixed out in the wild outside of ideal situations is VERY helpful. Cheers! Happy Vending!
Yeah...I hear what you're saying but it is time consuming to do these types of videos. If the situation arises, I will do it again. Thanks for subscribing!
