You sir, are a godsend! I just bought my first machines (one of them a Dixie Narco 276e) that are already on locations. If they were in my garage, I'd have no problem learning how these work. But already operating on location is another thing so being able to see these quality instructional videos is a game changer for my situation. I cannot thank you enough!
Great video. Love the way you explained AND had the camera follow to see the actions. One of the best instructional vids about working a machine. Good job!
Tomorrow I was going change out one of the soft drinks that wasn't selling, and try monster energy in my Dixie Narco machine. Great info video here. Thanks for posting this.
Thank you. It's interesting how the machines work. I'm getting my machines next week and though a different model number, I guess is they will be somewhat similar. Thank you and your helper too. Take care and be safe.
Just fired up a dixie in my garage, I subbed to you channel and thank you for ALL the invaluable info! Twice as pumped when I found out we both have Emily's :)
Just installed my first 501e yesterday. Unfortunately column 5 was set for 16oz cans and not 20oz bottles like i requested. I tried moving back the rear product restricter but it wasn't working. I'm going to try to 16oz bottles today snd hopefully that works. I don't know enough about the shims to try and reconfigure it completely Thanks for the information as always Bill!
Is there a tool that can be used to reach the back shims??? For us big guys... our arms are to ??? plump??? to get in the column...lol A couple time I thought I was going to have over night to wait for some one to come to the school and notice me with my hand stuck in the cookie jar so they could call 911 to cut me out of that thing...lol
I'm looking to get a vending machine for my garage to have a unique "drink fridge" when we're all hanging out outside. Is this one of the smaller models on the market? I've seen some super huge machines out in the wild, but I'm hoping to save on space as much as possible.
Hey @HappyVending, random question. I’m trying to purchase a machine but I’m being told the “Valence(lights)” (sp) isn’t working. Do you know much about that? I’ve searched that term and nothing isn’t popping up. It’s a Dixie Narco 501E
Hmmm...there aren't many lights in a 501 except the front lights and the LED display. Most machines that I've purchased have not had working front lights...so maybe that's what they are referring to.
@@HappyVending Yes, it's the ballast... The front lights are not working. I'm debating doing a LED kit but I watched your other videos and you mentioned your experience.
@@WebbMil It's not hard to replace the ballast and lights...just make sure you unplug the machine or you'll get a big shock. Just remove the old ballast and take that along with one of the light bulbs to an electric supply company and they'll usually have what you need. That is the cheapest way to get the lights working. You can buy LED bulbs and bypass the ballast like I did in my one video but the LED bulbs can be pricey. The benefit there is they last a lot longer than the fluorescent lights.
I'm having serious trouble with my DN501E.... @1541 in the video shows the button assembly. Can you help with changing out the strip that holds all the buttons? Mine is broken and I don't know of a way to get a replacement. Please help. Also my machine is the same as the machine you are demonstrating with but my tag says 501E not 276E.
You can download the parts manual here: www.amequipmentsales.com/manuals/pdf/Dixie%20Narco/DIXIE%20NARCO%20E%20MODEL%20PARTS%20MANUAL.pdf I've gotten most of my parts direct from Crane, so you can try them first. If not, search the internet for the part number....maybe someone is selling used parts on ebay.
Hi Bill, thank you for your videos! Can you tell me if there’s a significant difference between coke boards, Pepsi boards and generic boards when it comes to the physical appearance?
@@HappyVending if I recall red was Coke and blue Pepsi? I also happen to see an aftermarket board that had a yellow button, would that just be a generic?
I haven't set up Monsters in a wide column, so I couldn't tell you the exact settings. I see you posted on the Vendiscuss board..so just follow the advice you get there. You will need to adjust the cam until you get four notches, and make sure you are using the can shim.
How do you program different currencies? I live in Israel and the prices of items in vending machines can vary from 3 Shekels to 10, depending on the location of the machine I wonder if some support more than one currency
I'm sure if a machine can be purchased in another country, it can be programmed to accept that countries currency....assuming the bill acceptor and coin accepter are tuned to that countries currency. I have only used machines in the US so I can't speak from experience though.
With the newer bottle sizes coming out, is there a way to vend a 25.4oz bottle? Would you just set the shim for 20 oz bottles, and put the motor setting on 2? These bottles are the larger Monster Hydro Bottles and 24 oz Monster cans with the resealable top
I can't say for sure...I would have to look at the size of the containers and see if they are close to the 20 oz. bottles. Monsters never sold well for me so I don't plan on getting a bigger size.
I'm getting a new coin chute. Can you do an informal video on how to apply those to the machine!? It's a older Dixie Narco and the coins get stuck every now ans again. I ordered a new one and decided to change it out. Thank you..
I currently don't have any coin chutes to change out on my machines. I recently replaced the one on my Dixie 276e machine and it really wasn't too hard. Just a couple screws and it is out. I'm sure you'll be ok...just give it a whirl.
Is it true they got like this timmer or something so when every one leaves work or college the machine automatic turns it self off or sleep mode the cooler stays on but the mane light and the desply goes off
Yes, it is true...I have seen them. They are just motion sensors that the entire machine plugs into. If they don't detect motion for a preset amount of time, it kills power to the entire machine...even the compressor. So if no one has been in the room for awhile and the customer would come in for a drink, they would most likely get a warm one. I put light relays on my machines so that I have the lights turn off after around 11 pm and come on at 6 am, but the compressor stays on.
@@teamalanmountjoy3244 I do plan on doing a video showing how to set the light timer. When I do that video, I'll show where I put the relay...but I don't have any relay kits to install right now.
Hello, I have the same exact control board and I was wondering if it was MDB compatible so that I can install a card reader? I didn’t see an MDB port on mine.
@@HappyVending Thank you for the response. I've resolved it, but just in case someone comes looking for the same issue, the motor was stopping when the switch was pushed OUT of the notch. So it ran for just a split second. Then the next cycle would run until it fell into the notch again. Each vend required two vend requests. The issue was the switch itself and most likely related to the fact that it's a normally closed switch and corrosion.
@@shawnunderwood4801 If you have all narrow columns, they would use the same shims. As for your double vend, it is possible that you motor brake needs cleaning. You can use contact cleaner on it....it's the part on the top of the motor. It may also be that the rotor widened at the part that the motor goes into it. If there is a lot of play in your rotor, you may need a new one. Also, do you have the rod installed in your rotor? You should for cans.
Happy Vending that’s what I figured. I’m going to switch out my Diet Coke with monster. I can’t thank you enough for starting this channel and making these videos. 😀👍🏼
Could you do the inverse plastic bottle to can(3) I have a probleme whit the cam first it goes well only 1 can then the second time 2 cans. Idid tried position 1,2 and 3 and it gets worst...
What size bottles did you have in there? 20 oz? If so, you need to replace the bottle shim with a can shim. How many deep do you have the cans? Three deep? Do you have a rod in the rotor?
@@tiloup1889 for 3 deep, you should use the 1st cam setting. You should have a can shim in there and the rod is a long metal rod that sits the cans up hogher in the rotor. Remove all your cans from the column and you should see it. Also make sure your break isn't sticking.
@@HappyVending Since I dont have the good shim for the 3 deep can, Idid manage to put it in two deep can, whit the cam at position 2, and it works fine. thanks a lot for your info Ben.
Monsters did not prove to be a big seller at my location, so I stopped buying them. I only bought them in a small quantity to try it out...so I think it was over a dollar a can.
Happy Vending you were selling it for $2 a can well in my town the cheapest you can get it for is like $1.80 at a store so i’d be making less than a quarter a can
Took my Monsters out to add orange soda. I adjusted the shim and the cam is on 2 but the machine will vend and no soda is dropped and then on the next vend 2 sodas drop. What did I do wrong?
Coke graphics are licensed so you really can't buy them new. They would need to come from a coke distributor...or used from someone who has a machine that they are parting out.
