hey! I’m the artist of marks icon and I wish you woulda asked before doing this :( it looks great and I know it’s just for fun so no hard feelings, but I would’ve said yes anyway! I go through a lot with people using my work w/o permission. Just as an artist to another artist
Wow! Hi there. I'm a big fan of your work! It is my understanding that, for what is essentially an art critique video, use of other people’s artwork in that context comes under fair use… I certainly was not trying to give the impression of taking credit for your art, so I hope it didn't come across that way! I also didn’t name any artists in the video as I didn’t want to look like I was seriously calling anyone out. These are all artists and RU-vidrs I like… that’s why I did the video, after all! I’d also be very grateful if you could indulge me something… I didn’t have access to the original artwork in its full resolution (of course) so I recreated the whole thing as meticulously as I could on a giant scale - that way I could get real close up without losing res. I’m REALLY curious to know if the original artist (you!) could tell it was a forgery?
The Harry Gold Show omg no it’s totally okay!!! I’m not mad or like trying to get prickly or anything with you haha I just wish I coulda known you did this so I could see it- Plus like you said in the description it’s just for fun anyway. Again totally not mad and I think this is super fun!! But I couldn’t tell at all actually- you did a great job considering how old this work is and the res is suuuuper super low.
@yungdenpa I cannot understand this passive aggresive claim. If it doesn't matter... say nothing. If it does matter to you that this artist "used your art".. go to therapy.
My recommendations for fixes would be Saberspark, and Quinton Reviews' plush figure design. They look NOTHING like the people they are supposed to represent.
this reminds me being a kid and in love with the wildkratts cartoon and then making the horrifying discovery that the people they were based on were like.. two old men 😂 theyre not ugly or anything but it was just jarring to little kid me 😂😂
Well, that's why I prefer to use the term "self insert" or "persona" "cartoon insert" anything like that instead of "caricature". Because when I draw myself I obviously don't want to look like my ugly self, or I would just take a photo, right?! As an artist I'm able to create new worlds and draw things that otherwise wouldn't be possible in real life, so why not make myself what I would see as a "perfect self*?! I get the theme of the video, yet I also think those RU-vidrs didn't had their "cartoon selfs" made to people laugh at, like a caricature's purpose, they just wanted a cute way to represent themselves. Well anyway, just putting my thoughts out in a 2 yr old video for no reason...
3:06 Magenta? That thing's Fuchsia tho, they're a whole secondary off! 6:06 The quick, drastic change is such a jumpscare I love it lol, I had to laugh
i dont think i have seen anyone do this before and I thought it was a really fun idea. it would be quite a feat if you did this with RU-vidrs who are only know for their cartoons and have never revealed their face! render their face based on the animation itself, like Etho and his Kakashi Minecraft skin lol
THAT's what pewdiepie looks like? I guess mentally I always just combined him with that Fred guy. Remember Fred? I don't even remember if I got his name right.
I know it’s part of the funny and satire criticisms but he really gotta cool it on the whole cartoony art style stuff and how it don’t look realistic 😂😂😂 it’s funny tho
@@el_de_enmedio The first one it was used in an intro was called "Stop this... - LWIAY #00109". It's been in a video per week most weeks for the last year!
The challenge you should have set yourself, all those years ago: Reflect the person's actual features _while maintaining the style of the art with which you are having your way._
Ball = Nice Triangle = Bad We get it. To represent yourself it's kinda weird to use shape language instead of trying to make it look at least a bit like you.
