Mine is coming up in December. I think it was 2 years ago, grand total smog included $278. And that's including the convenience fee of having the smog place pay the DMV right there on the spot. It worth it to me to not have to stand in line at the DMV. I think fees will continue to go up every year here in CA as a way to force everyone into an electric car due to the 2035 mandate. I noticed my insurance premiums also went up $4 bucks per billing cycle (I pay twice a year). Perfect spotless driving record, low mileage to/from work, garaged. No reason for it to go up other than CA b.s. Gas has gone up & stayed up, I doubt we will ever see $4 gas ever again. Highest price gas in the nation. With all of these factors I can't help but think it's being done to price motorists out of ICE vehicles.
California is the reason it’s going up. I haven’t had to get a smog check run on a vehicle since I lived in Florida. They discontinued it in 2000 because it did nothing appreciable to reduce smog. Sounds like just another way for them to soak the citizens for more money. My registration fees have continued to go down a quite a bit since I bought my FJ here in AZ.
I even watch the whole video. It makes me so angry. Good luck young man. My suggestion would be to do like a lot of others are going and get yourself out of Commiefornia. It's disgusting what's happening out there and this is just one more thing. Move to a free State. God bless.
