she’s very slept on, twigs is one of the best visionaries, vocalists, and artists of this generation and her music is just stunning. obviously not for everyone but im so glad you enjoyed her work you’d love LP1 and her EPs
She was in a relationship with Robert Pattinson that didn't work out - she dealt with a lot of racist hatred via the internet because of the relationship - and then she had a health issue. So she went through it and put it into her music.
So tragic.... I didn’t follow their story.... as a human it breaks my heart that racism is a part of our world. God made many beautiful flowers in his garden!! It would be a plain gray world if we were all the same shape, kind and color .... Appreciate the beauty in EVERYONE !!! We pay tons of money to the best florists and landscape designers .....to bring about beautiful and varied plants 🌱 and people are much more important!!! Please love each other!!!
Diego it’s true. A lot of Twilight fand of Robert’s relationship with Kirsten Stewart were very racist and hateful towards Twigs because simply she was with Robert.
"She's amazing, oh I'm definitely going to listen to every single thing she's ever released after this album" THIS BETTER MEAN MORE REACTION VIDEOS!!!!
@@hotwheelsdriver6321 I love him as an actor but I still want to beat his ass for not defending twigs when his racist twilight fangirls were calling her a monkey and the n word
If you watch his interview with Howard Stern, he talks about how hard it is to say something when his fans attack on social media. He mentions how different it would be if someone came out on the street and said it to their face, but when its through instagram/twitter etc, it makes it harder. I see that shit happen all the time, people attack other people on social media, and it never stops, no matter what someone says in defense. It just keeps feeding the flames. This may be another reason why he doesn't have social media. No matter what you say, people find a way to keep turning it around. And here we are now blaming Rob. Yes it's heart breaking, but the reality is that no one really knows what truly happened.
@@andreamusso931 It's not that hard to get on instagram live or make a tweet and say "If you're really my fan, leave my girlfriend alone. Cut that racist shit out." But he didn't even try.
@@Eman-vp6ju I am pretty sure he doesn't have social media. although I could be wrong. And if he does, then yes he could have done that. But from what I understand he's never had a social media account
exactly! i hated cellophane at first except for the one snippet but now it’s just an ethereal song i can never get enough of. i don’t even know what i didn’t like about it anymore!
Nicholas Pizzo this is after she listened fka’s twitter.com/theajayii/status/1193211512590151683?s=21 she said mag’s fka is aoty contender tho, but still NFR is her AOTY
the line "it wakes a thousand eyes" actually means that many people will start to talk about it since she is singing about her relationship with robert pattinson
yeah, On Spotify she wrote in her story "I thought, writing this, that if I was going anything less than perfect I was going to be completely torn apart publicly". dang, I 100% owe FKA Twigs her respect. I only started listening yesterday and I'm just shedding tears every time I listen.
@@starropenisthe4th786 meh, most of the time I wouldn't say she is pop. BANKS and FKA twigs are both considered alternative, for example, but if you compare them, BANKS' level of pop is a lot higher, while twigs' is a lot lower, she's a lot more experimental, especially production wise
She’s singing about Robert Pattinson. They dated for a long while and he is referenced on many tracks. In a thousand eyes, she is likely saying that if she breaks it off and he doesn’t come back for her, it wakes a thousand eyes. In the sense of others will be interested in him, but also in the sense that the media will start talking and speculating. He is also very much mentioned on cellophane. It’s about a relationship talked about so much by others that she started feeling bad about it. When her and Pattinson were dating she got tons of racist comments from twilight fans. Hence “they’re watching us...they’re waiting and hoping I’m not enough”
@@bachnguyen9212 He has production credits on holy terrain, I guess it's the bass line, you could hear his influence on the second chorus where the bass line is like bobobop..........bo...bop bo bop..bobobop
I came here to say the same thing, she would LOVE bjork. I'd KILL for reactions to Post, Homogenic, Vespertine, especially but all of them would be great.
I'm totally obsessed with that performance....it sis sooooooo artistic - beautiful and I shared it with everyone who I thought would appreciate it. Many comments stating they cried and I know I did. Her voice live is just sickening and that pole dance was and Alvin Ailey spiritual masterpiece.
It seems like AJayll has enjoyed the most the experimental songs on this album. I strongly believe she should check Björk's discography as well. Guys, will you help me?
the first time i heard mary magdalene i was high off my ass and was living in a cottage in the mountains at the time. i was laying on my sofa looking up at the stars through the skylights, and when the hook came my jaw dropped. i was at the record store the next morning.
try björk please, she's basically the nowadays alternative/experimental singer's mom; she has a lot of great albums: homogenic, vespertine, medulla, vulnicura... you should definitely listen to her
She’s singing about her relationship with Robert Pattinson, the thousand eyes refers to the thousands of people spectating their relationship - family, friends, the world (the thousand eyes)
I feel like when you see how Rob Patt deals with the public eye himself I feel like they're on the same page except for the way they express it. Pattinson expresses it by rejecting any manners and common sense a "celeb" of his caliber should have when it comes to his image, FKA twigs expresses it beautifully in her art. It's pretty self explanatory how their relationship and the difficulties they had were defined by the hardships this kind of scrutiny entails.
Art is meant to make you feel. And album made me feel all kinds of emotions. The album needs to be consumed as a whole. It's an experience. I thought Cellophane was 'meh' (and a bit whiny) when I heard it a few months ago. But in the context of the album and actually listening to and understanding the lyrics, it takes on so much more meaning (and I take back my mediocre reaction). Mirrored Heart and Home With You resonated with me immediately. Half these songs remind me of a devastating break up with someone and some of the others remind me of another lost love. So powerful and evocative. This album will always have a special place in my heart. 'This was amazing y'all.' - Amazing reaction video AJayll.
I'm pleasantly surprised. I mentioned before that Twigs is an acquired taste n I didn't think Ajayll would like her like I do. I'm so glad I was wrong n that the rest of Twigs' discography will be reacted to. LP1 will rock her world!
I only wish Magdalene was released 6 months ago when I was going through a break up of sorts. The guy and I hadn’t dated in over a year but the way we were talking he definitely gave me the impression that he wanted to work on getting back together, instead he strung me along for a year and kept me in his pocket, knowing how much I cared for him. I’ve finally been able to fully let go of him after he told me I wasn’t “independent enough” for him because I still live with my parents. Magdalene still sits with me emotionally because I can feel her letting go and finding herself and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing. Letting go and finding myself. 💜
Blissful Martini I’m so sorry to hear and so glad you’re finally letting go! This whole album reminds me of my ex and he randomly left me one day and it’s been on repeat since, it’s a very close album to me and I’m also in the process of letting go and finding myself. 💜
home with you literally kills me inside lmao I'm glad I'm not the only one who cried. Twigs is by far my favorite artist and womxn alive. Another masterpiece album
I'd love a Kate Bush reaction, perhaps Hounds of Love since it's prob her most accessible. You can def hear her influence on fka twigs, especially on ‘sad day’. Also gonna echo everyone else mentioning PANG by queen Caroline Polachek ♥️
She was engaged with Robert Pattinson and was dating Shia LaBeouf, I think both inspired the album, but mostly Robert, in that time she looked so happy and in love
