Definitely should do more FKA Twigs, she is AMAZING. Arca has produced a lot of her stuff which leads me to my recommendations. Lil Ugly Mane - Volcanic Bird Enemy and the Voiced Concern Arca - Kick I-IIIII Oneohtrix Point Never - R Plus Seven
This was dope! I had only heard her album LP1 and had just heard this one for the first time. Her work always reminded me of Bjork but the Kate Bush inspo definitely comes through on this one. I'm really digging it. You should definitely check out her first album LP1. Just as good but with a different overall vibe and more experimental production. Also someone mentioned Caroline Polachek's Pang, but I recommend her album Desire, I Want to Turn Into You from last year. One of the best produced pop albums I've heard recently and the music is absolutely infectious. I think you'd really like it. Anyways, keep up the great work Smags! Hope everyone has a great day! ✌️❤️
1000 eyes refers to her relationship & future breakup with Robert Pattinson (Edward in Twilight). Her being the 1 and him the 1000 because of his massive popularity.
This woman is majestic during performances…she is a beautiful dancer. My favorite Twigs ever is an EP called M3LL155A. Thank you for listening with us💕
'Strawberry Switchblade', (self-titled album) would make for a very interesting review. Dark 80's pop with haunting vocals by the always magnificent Rose McDowall. Was so far ahead of its time.
I think you’d really love arca’s music! She definitely has some UNIQUE stuff. And seeing that you havent yet reacted to it, i recommend it!! I love magdalene thanks for reacting ❤
mewing in the thumbnail 💀 recommendations: Too many voices - Andy Stott The maze to nowhere - Lorn 99.9% - Kaytranada I know you get lots of recs but these albums stood out the most to me, Love the vids as well been watching since your Music has the right vid 😄
saw someone recomending arca here aswell, you should totally check her out, Id say start with kick i its probably her album thats most acessible and has features from people you might know like bjork. arca is a really amazing artist she has worked for kanye and bjork mixing yeezus and two of bjork's releases. she is a really inspiring art pop/industrial hip hop producer and she sings very well on her songs!
I really loved LP1, but this album took a while to grow on me because of how different it was. After listening to it a few times, I understood what a masterpiece this album is. "Home with You", and "Cellophane" are absolute gut punches.
One of the recommendations of all time would defininetetetly be Jim Orourke who is Artist (real) with the al bum "live at japan 2002.16.9", its life-changing and a piece of art
Yes please on Jim O'Rourke. When he was in the USA, he was on a label called Drag City. He helped a fellow up-and-coming musician on the label named Joanna Newsom by mixing and mastering her sophomore release, "Ys". Yet again, I am shilling Ys to Smags. Halfway to a Threeway, Eureka, and Live in Japan by Jim O'Rourke are all masterpieces that should be reacted to as well.
You gotta react to something from Bright Eyes. Their best in my opinion is Im wide awake it’s morning, but Fevers and Mirrors got me hooked on them because of my emo background. LIFTED is sick too, some of their darkest songs on it. Whatever album seems most appealing is what you should start with. Love the reactions man, there’s hardly any bright eyes reactions too
ok, my recommendations are: the whole fka discography (ep1, ep2, lp1 and caprisongs), i would probably recommend you go in order and also arca she produces a lot of stuff for fka twigs and has worked with bjork (they're actually friends); anything she does is great but the kick series or the self titled is a good place to start
Mr. Consistent back at it with another banger. This album is basically perfect, and it's hard for me to decide which album between Magdalene and LP1 by FKA Twigs makes it in the lower portion of my Top 100. I certainly know which album I put at #1, though: Ys by Joanna Newsom. Smags please come through.
just continuing to impress me with your work ethic, love your videos a few recommendations: Process - Sampha (experimental r&b, great production) Nurture - Porter Robinson (light summer electric with fun production) Koi No Yokan - Deftones (very heavy, sexier and heavier radiohead imo) Hypochondriac - Brakence (very experimental emo rap, glitch pop) Reading Writing And Arithmetic - The Sundays (the smiths ish, with beautiful female vocals)
also, “Some People Have REAL Problems” by SIA released in 2007 before her mainstream success is full of the same sober affections MAGDALENE holds. Totally recommend!
Smags you gotta check out waiting to spill by the backseat lovers. It’s such a good album and it’s perfect for this time of year. You could even listen to it outside and it would be good.
You should totally listen and react to: Eartheater - Phoenix: flames are few are dew upon my skin, trinity, and powders Caroline Polachek - Desire, I want to turn into you; and Pang These are some sick albums with some sick electronic production
As everyone else us saying Lp1 is definitely worth checking out But please after that listen to her ep called mellissa (but its spelled weirdly) its her best work imo although she doesn't have one bad or even just average project
Wasn't expecting FKA Twigs to sound like this. Never heard their music before but heard of the name. Very interesting sound. As always check out Everything Everything- Get to heaven. A fun uk art pop record with dark lyrical content.
Get to Heaven is a 10. Seconding this. 🎶 Oh baby it's alright, it's alright to feel... like a fat child in a push-chair old enough to run... old enough to fire a gun 🎵 🗣️🔥🔥🔥
Do more twigs!! You could go back to her her first album “LP1” it’s more electronic throughout or go forward to her newest release caprisongs it’s a feel good mixtape both are great options
I'd recommend Sublime's self titled album. It was their last before their singer died from a heroin overdose and was such a shame bc they really mastered their reggae/ ska sound on this one and it had some decently big hits on it too
The Future feature is maybe the most unneeded thing on any album ever lol. Her "mixtape" Caprisongs is a bit of a venture outside of her usual style and experimenting with some other genres, and its fucking amazing lmao. Her production and the way she takes songs in completely unexpected directions but it still fits perfectly is at its peak on that album ❤
Nice vid , would really love to see you react to No Now by Clarence Clarity . One of the most insane self produced albums ever and extremely underrated
one of my favs albums. if you love this you have GYATTTT to listen to her 2015 EP M3LL155X. the production is years ahead of its time and her vocals are, of course, bomb asf. anyways, toodles
My favorite fact about FKA twigs is that she has a song with 645AR and if you don’t know what he sounds like then please search him up. Suggestion: SOAD - Mezmerize/Hypnotize
Sometimes I feel like the only one who thinks Holy Terrain is a great song and still fits within the context of the album, while also sounding the most different compared to the rest of it
Yo Smags! I have a Vaporwave artist I recommend reviewing, their name is Infinity Frequencies, there’s an album I like! It’s called Between Two Worlds, they are short songs just to be aware
btw 1 skrillex was also part of the production of some songs 2 cellophane is a dedication to her ex bf roberth Pattinson who left her after the backlash from his fanbase
SMAGSSSS my friend, please make an aoty or rym account where you rate the music you hear!! a nice way for your viewers to see what you've thought of the music you hear.
