They had a ban wave yesterday but I played Casual lobbies last night and most of the matches i played still had wall hackers and one was rage cheating with aimlock. Apparently the bans were for people using nospread and rapid fire. closet cheaters / non-ragers aren't really being banned at the moment.

@@oOignignoktOo1 yeah all the cheaters are going blatant too, a lot of them in my lobbies were saying they're waiting to be banned and just going full on. Also all cheat discords and telegrams are telling people to only use aim and walls rn.

Overwatch only works for spinbotters and VAC doesn’t work at all. Anybody who got caught cheating is probably using very bad detected free cheats. I’ve still been raging the whole time and I’ve never been banned once.

This made me remember watching somebody do overwatch and it did used to be just spinbotters
@notatrollzorz
@notatrollzorz Месяц назад
The cheating problem really has not been 'blown out of proportion'. A lot of old CS players and so many of us are comparing to the last decade of playing. There have been plenty of cheaters. But it has never been this bad.
@user-ve9vx1hd3y
@user-ve9vx1hd3y Месяц назад
The issue was that a lot of cheaters and cheat devs made bot accounts that ruin the whole data collection. Make bot accounts that got to a decent rank, get into overwatch and then started up a different bot. That different bot was purely made to made to say that no cheats were found or detected beyond a reasonable doubt. And they'd run these bots 24/7. So the Overwatch system would be flooded with a bunch of reviewed cases that said "no cheats" when there were cheats being used. But it didn't matter because natural players could do 100 legit case reviews in a day while bots can do 500 in a day. The algorithm used would then think "Hey I have tens of thousands of reviewed cases saying that this behavior isn't cheating so the player isn't cheating" while the player is legit spin botting if you look at him.
@VACatholic
@VACatholic День назад
This isn't how the algorithm should work if it's done competently.
@user-ve9vx1hd3y
@user-ve9vx1hd3y День назад
@@VACatholic The issue is that the game industry doesn't have the best coders. Many coders, especially beginner ones don't try to mess with their code after its done and works for fear of breaking it and then figuring out why its not working. The reason why it breaks can be so minor, ie a spelling mistake or forgetting to put a character, to as big as not referencing a section, which will make the rest of the code that comes after not work. The more talented and competent ones tend to go to other sectors for better pay and benefits. If you ask me, its more of an industry issue because the industry doesn't have the best reputation. The gaming industry is infamous for its crunch time, mediocre pay, lackluster working environments and burnout. If you're able to dictate where you work, why would you choose the gaming industry versus other industries where you will be making near 100K in your first year, great perks, nice work environment, lax management, and reasonable deadlines. Sure there's crunch in any industry or sector you work in due to various issues but its not like the 24/7 365 days a year crunch time like it is in the games industry. The cons heavily out weight the pros. So many of those that are good/talented usually leave for greener pastures in other companies/ industries. Another route that other highly skilled and talented coders go is cheat development. If you can make a good cheat and are able to develop a sizeable use base, you can easily surpass your previous salary at the company you were previously with. And by surpass I mean making your previous salary every other month. There are some cheat devs that make over 100K USD a month!! Thats over $1.2 Mil USD. Granted you'd have to pay taxes on it but with that kind of money, you can hire a team of accountants and lawyers to compile a strategy to heavily lower costs across the board, whether that be in taxes, housing, bills etc. Plus, you essentially work from home so its even better for you as the world is essentially your oyster at that point. Granted thats the top 0.001 of cheat devs but even those that are moderately successful stand to make hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. And if you previously worked on a popular game that you are now making cheats for, you have a higher leg up as you know exactly how the code is written and what are some ways to exploit it, granted there are already cheat devs that probably have a more intimate knowledge of the game than you a former dev for the game.

Valve shouldn’t trust people from the community to do it for free cause a lot of cheaters do overwatch cases and they see a cheater … they not getting banned at all
@aztkshorty9138
@aztkshorty9138 Месяц назад
Obviously you never played CSGO? Because CSGO had overwatch for years and it was one of the best non-intrusive anti cheat systems, they limited it to accounts more then 400 hours, 150 ranked wins, a rank of GN+, 100k+ XP or level 20 and a trusted steam account and an account older then at least 2 - 4 years. A case would be submitted to overwatch and then would have to be reviewed by hundreds or even thousands of players prior to the verdict being finally submitted to either be banned or not banned. (depending on the conviction rate, as some could put "unsure of cheating" if it's seriously closet cheating and they couldn't tell. But if nearly every player is convicting the person in the case then the system just reaches a verdict earlier without as many reviews.)

@Fyr35555
@Fyr35555 Месяц назад
Could be way off here but I could imagine AI is the type of thing that takes ages to actually be half decent at doing something but then past a certain point you get a really rapid improvement in the technology. So for example it might take an AI anti cheat years and years to be able to reliably detect blatant spinbotters but once it gets to that point it gets very good very fast at detecting most of them.
@xVersioNz
@xVersioNz Месяц назад
@@Fyr35555You’re kind of off. They added in the data capturer awhile ago, and used that data to train their model for detecting cheaters. From here it’s an iterative process, using new data to continue feeding the model to continuously improve it. Detecting spinbotters for AI will be very easy. Detecting a non-blatant wallhacker is very difficult. This can lead to a lot of false positives.

Would it be possible to have a wall hack detection which easily detects cheater by calculating time to damage after an opponent spotted? Because obviously when someone has wall hacks they kill you far quicker than is humanly possible.

That would be a good way to get legit people banned for prefiring common spots. They would have to use another calculation besides time to damage. There has to be some internal flags that are switched on when the hacking codes are injected.

I think the best way would be some sort of system that detects unusual movement (IE bhop scripting) and unusual playermodel movement (spinning) and consistent unusual flicks to headshots. Considering leetify can calculate aim, it could easily calculate the aim of players. I have leetify and it literally says some of the cheaters I have played against have exactly 100 aim, that should immediately get your account flagged for review.

In all of my years of playing cs:go (10 years) I roughly reviewed around 5, could be less and that was around when I first got Overwatch, and boy I got bored quickly, there was no incentive nothing in return for me for reviewing demo's that I had nothing to do with, yeah sure with wireshark you could find their steam profile and watch them get banned, but most of them were private accounts so no fun at all so I just stopped because I was still encountering closet cheaters now and then. And I don't think I will do it in CS2 even if I get invited.

The claim that people are exaggerating the amount of cheaters is straight up ludicrous. I've encountered more blatant and closet cheaters in the past 5 months than I ever saw in CSGO. That may be just my anecdotal evidence but when several other people are reporting the same thing as me it's pretty clear that it isn't an isolated incident or I have low trust or whatever common excuse people come up with to downplay the cheating problem.

I would also like to add my anecdotal evidence to the pile. Played about 350 premier games in the 15k-19k bracket, a little over 200 are tracked by cs2 stats. Of those, 1 game with a banned player and no blatant cheaters. Obviously there are a lot of cheaters, especially past 20k, but my experience has been the same as in csgo: essentially no problems I think the variation of experiences is really interesting.
