Holy shit, it's the guy who plays elden ring, and then makes builds, and then invades other players as they play through the game, and he tries to do cool things while he fights other players, and then he takes that footage and puts it on youtube in videos for me to watch while he talks over the video! See THIS IS WHAT VIDEO GAMES ARE ABOUT for me. Yeah you could pick the gear and stuff that is the most optimal 100% of the time and stress about it, but like, sometimes you pick gear that is effective at a different goal. Maybe your goal is hitting a goofy combo, maybe your goal is being a blue and delivering estus to invaders, and maybe your goal is making Carian Slicer hit as hard as humanly possible. Playing “unoptimally” is always worth it if you’re having fun and if the payoff from success being amazing.
Preach, brother. I think YT/social media has changed people's mindset. People run through games nowadays to unlock everything and be done and be like "eh, I got everything in 8 hours and ran out of stuff to do". I think Competitive multiplayer is mostly to blame too.
It's kinda strange how many swords there are in Elden Ring that you'd think would be a faith or int weapon and they're actually better off if you invest quality or Dex. Off the top of my head I think of the godslayer great sword and how it's a Dex weapon, and the golden order moonlight sword which is also better with a Dex investment over faith

Hey guys, does anybody now how does Saint hardswap while sprinting? I'm teaching myself hardswapping but if I have to take my right hand fingers off of the buttons I can't sprint at the same time 🤔 Maybe an elite controller with back paddles?
Wouldn’t this strategy synergize with Lord Sworn Greatsword, more? Same moveset but bonus damage on crits. It gives you an excuse to use a weapon that’s normally seen as outclassed by Claymore/Flamberge/Knight-Greatsword etc.
