Just a reminder that "Flamenco" originated from the Romani immigrants that arrived in Spain. They were prosecuted because of their culture, but now Spaniards claim it as their own and TO THIS DAY discriminate against Romani people. Remember to be kind to Romani people and thank them for such beautiful culture.

This movie is played in the Caves Museum in the Sacromonte district of Granada. According to the museum, it was filmed in one of those caves, where the Romani people lived, on the outskirts of Spanish society, and developed this art form.
Love. I grew up in America and I am all European a mishmash. I recently found out that I had a surprise and then I am Spanish and Portuguese. Along with everything else Italian Norwegian Irish Greek and the list goes on. I always danced like this.. I have videos My mother took of me when I was little and I always dance like flamenco. I still did it sometimes not too long ago and my friends would always say I did well just playing around of course. It is in my heart it is in my soul💃❤️🤍💙🇺🇸 Hi recently have been practicing and bought some beautiful sky flamingo skirts and hats and I feel very well. It is my happiness.
Such passion, where is he now. They tought children from toddler age , look at them dancing. absolutely amazing. wonderful people. All you see these days in children is how to club dance which is not tradition or heritage.

No they dont gypsies are not rajasthan people. Gypsies are a mixture of all kind of ethnicity and ONE of them being rajasthan. Gypsies can look scandinavian, slavic, southern european, indian, arab and even a bit african. Gypsies have a complete uniqe culture a mix of all the countries theyve past thru.
They originally came from India but settled in different countries, mixed with other races and adopted their culture, some look Asian and some who have intermarried with Europeans look European. The Bulgarian gypsies I met look more Indian or Middle Eastern Their DNA shows that they are of South Asian origin, which is Indian. Unlike the present day Indians who have emigrated abroad and are professionals eg in the medical line and computer specialists, the gypsies preferred the nomadic lifestyle or were not integrated into the community they lived in and therefore did not do well.

Iam a Roma my self and your so right in the beginning we were all Indian tribes living in India .. than in the 5th century we were taken out of India into Persia all gypsy tribes with other Hindu tribes .. than my doma tribes stayed in Persia others went to Morocco the other half to Egypt and than living there since the 5th century a small minorities stayed there in Persia Egypt and Morocco .. the ones who went to Spain were the kale they mixed with a Morocco tribes and created flamenco the others went to Eastern Europe now called Roma not doma .. so by the time they went to Europe they were mixed with different Arabic tribes .. than in Europe what ever country we went mix with the locals .. I born in Hungary and I had Hungarians in my family man woman from both sides father mother side ..

The great dancer, Antonio Gades in Los Tarantos (1963) with the legendary Carmen Amaya. The setting was Barcelona, not Sevilla. A beautiful, harsh film.
It's a Swedish documentary from the late 50's early 60's aprox. The voice explaining things, is speaking Swedish. Would have been good if the whole film was put out here, or know the title, so I could find it somewhere. Flamenco in those days was much purer and more spontaneous..before the big tourism development, which led flamenco to becoming more commercialized as "show bizz". But..having said that, it also allowed for and encouraged more professionalism and flamenco's development to a true, stylized art form, also !
They are not gypsies. they had to flee the catholic church courts qt the time. they were left with no money and no hope. Ran to the mountains and lived like hopeless farmers and this is what they did to express their sadness.
Utter nonsense. They are gypsies from Granada. They have danced like this for many generations and continue to do so in the Sacramonte and Albaicin areas of Granada.
You have a very confused idea of history here, friend. But I can assure you that these are gupsy children from Sacromonte who were filmed as one of the segments of the excellent Rito y Geografia series made in the 70s for spanish TV .
