What Arvin does not know is that more than 1,700 Americans (just Americans) become millionaires every day. I think his opening rant is well intentioned but not heavy on facts. This year alone more than 620,000 people in America will become millionaires. I wonder how many people since Arvin began this chanel have become millionaires?
RU-vid randomly recommended this channel 2 nights ago and now I’m hooked. Me and my partner did a mini binge were laughing at how alot of the points raised are very true. New sub, definitely worth it.
The mansion you will never be able to afford buyers’ guide. You never knew you needed it. But bonus is now you see that even at most premium segment of the market it all boils down to sensible design choices and pricing.
That intro was great. Watching your mansion videos is like watching a plastic surgeon telling you how a super model could look even better. Makes us broke ugly people feel better.
Personally I watch the channel to get an understanding of good design principles in properties where people can do whatever they want, no compromises. This helps me manage my own house and also think to the future of what I want/can get out of a custom build, even though it will be much more humble. Thanks Arvin!
I agree 100% of the assessment of Enes' videos. He does a fantastic job at the videography, sound, and walk-through of the home. I just haven't found anyone that does it better, but I have found a lot of people trying to copy him. It is so easy to understand where you are in a massive mansion when Enes is doing the tour, whereas I can see a local agent make a confusing video on a home that's only 3,000 sq ft. Also, I can't count how many other people don't prep the house - they don't have the lights on, they don't have doors opened, etc. Then they do bizarre things link opening doors to closets to show us a coat closet - why? And turning on faucets to show us the water working; of course the water works, why show it? Do they think, "man I bet someone would buy this house if they knew the kitchen faucet works..."?
Yep. Logistics, home staging designers, writers, camera, makeup, wardrobe, operators and gaffers and their assistants and catering (at this level I believe the property staff would take care of you). And testing and make several takes… it’s a lot of work but it’ll pay for itself if you want it sold asap. Imo the most difficult part is really to find a presenter that can seduce the watcher… Enes just can’t. Might be the writers or Enes
It’s nice to see a video where the house is good but flaws that the average buyer wouldn’t notice are pointed out. Sometimes on this channel you look at houses that maybe haven’t sold because they are actually really bad (even if they are big) but it is also interesting to see how to do things right.
Excellent intro!!!!! Ardie is one of my all-time favorites. 822 Sarbonne is another one of my favorites. I really like what he did with the rooftop deck.
Bro I literally just went back to looking at this property for all its amazing features after binge watching all your react videos. Next thing I know, you’re featuring it on your channel. Friggen awesome.
My dream home is one with lots of wood. And few synthethic materials. But this just blows my mind!! This man is a genius. Thanks for sharing. Lots of inspiration in this video.
Hi Arvin. I am an architect designer and love your point of view used on your critics. Very valid points. I also know Ardy, we were having so many discussions about the double curved concrete board form he did on this project. Also if you pay attention he is obsessed with the board form concrete with ceadr wood and he has a pattern that is his signature and it been repeated on all his projects. Your program is amazing. Well done and keep up your good work.
As always, an excellent overview of Luxury architecture and the expertise of the Architect/Builder/Decorator shows the value of having the 3 different types of expertise in one head... Even though the weaknesses of the lot are there, his choices and positioning decisions are excellent and consistent with your other critiques... I have to say that its really nice that you said some lovely things about Enes... Enes IS really good at what he does even though we all knows his flaws. But your honest assessment of Enes' significant strength in scouting, shooting and presenting these places give YOUR site that much more credibility and value... Well done...👍🏾
Arvin, could you stop hovering over the pause button with your mouse and just use the space bar to pause/unpause? It would prevent the time bar from staying up the whole time.
Damn it - Arvin knows my pain. I got hooked on local home tours, but then Enes promised me a new high, but the high didn’t last. I remained unfulfilled until I found this channel that points out flaws to provide a balance against the diminishing highs that can no longer provide the fix I need. Now, If I can only find out what happened to Mikey, I may be able to move on and recover from the addiction.
Im watching these mansion videos as a guilty pleasure, ok, I never thought i'd make the effort to comment on one, but mate that intro was on point hahaha i love it. You take this simple and superficial genre of looking at fancy expensive stuff and just take it to another level. I actually got bored of regular mansion videos but I didnt graduate to yachts but to Arvin critics instead😂
The intro made me snort coffee! Give it to us, again, Mr. Haddad, you old charmer, you! I watch you because I love beautiful things, admire symmetry and proportion, how things should go together, and to expand my education in the above. I'll NEVER be able to afford any of these houses, but I take what I learn from them and these videos and apply it to my own life. For me, no knowledge ever goes to waste. 😊 Finally, I find you to be warm, intelligent, and funny. In other words, an excellent host. And, if I EVER do find that Im indeed that missing princess from some royal family, Im going to come for you to help me buy my mansion. So, be ready, now! 😅❤😊
I've seen this property a few years ago and fell in love with it. It really is an outstanding architecture and design. Thank you Arvin for an experience!
Taken down by Arvin! You are 😂 and I’m addicted to your honesty. I’m just a voyeur and don’t have the $83 mil to buy what you’ve sold me. A fan who can’t make any promises. An admirer with nothing to offer. So call me an addict but don’t stop supplying! Besides, my brother in law is a venture capitalist and when he sells his place in Aspen he’ll be back in LA so I’ll give him your info 😂
This guy knows what he talking about… he’s definitely the call u wana make if u looking to buy a house and get advice on… amazing content buddy.. keep doing ur thing 👏🏻
This is the first time I had a really hard time watching Arvin's videos. Not because of Arvin himself, but because Architectural Digest released a subpar video of this mansion. It was like instead of paying for a good videographer that could've actually get the job done, they decided to go for the one that said that they could do it for cheap. Some video clips have the highlights overblown while majority of their video clips were shot using LOG video. And it shows. The editor either didn't know how to color grade LOG, or just didn't bother to. All the colors are muted and flat. Everyone's skin tone and clothing has weird colors. If they weren't going to color grade their LOG videos, then they should've just shot using the camera's normal video recording mode. Then there's these weird cuts, where they would open a door to another room, then immediately cut to B-Roll of that room. It's so weird. And there are way too many close-up shots of the real estate agent in those rooms. Zoom out so we can see the rooms in all their glory. And the world part about it all is that we didn't get to see each room they showed as it was intended to be seen. The drone shots show a much more beautiful home. But, the lack of color grading makes it impossible to appreciate what the house really looks like with the beautiful earthy colors. That just makes me appreciate Enes' videos even more. Even though Enes won't talk about any flaws at any of the properties he shows, his video production quality is top tier.
You nailed my addiction perfectly. (But I did get the girl). I love the fact that you point out flaws in the seemingly perfect. It seems to justify us not spending money we would never have even 10 lifetimes. 😂
I like seeing the different properties in order to define, refine & clarify what I love from the most absurd albeit gorgeous properties to make my personal choice on a smaller, less insane scale. Also it's fun to watch, and occasionally be astonished at the choices some of these people make.
@@ArvinHaddadOfficial It really does. You are a perfect reality check. Even if I had insane amounts of money, real estate is an investment and should be treated as such. Regardless of the intent for a property to be a "forever" home, the owner should carefully consider the choices made with respect to improvements. Quality is Quality, and well chosen & executed features will add value. That should always be a consideration.
This house was built at a time when those Malls looking home was getting popular under the popularity of architect such as Paul McClain or Bruce Makowsky 925 bel air rd. Ardie Tavangarian choice of architectural taste was warm chestnut color with quirky corner as well as multilevel filled room and that why we peasant loved it and the rich bought it quickly everytime one of his newly built house reach not even the market but simply the social media.
19:22 that rowing machine is of the waterrower brand. water in the disc-shaped container is the resistance, not a fan, so it's quiet enough that you can have TV on, but not blasting.
The property has all the wow factors and is iconic. Enes' video material is indeed better. Having been following your channel since the beginning, I have learned a great deal from it. Keep up the good work.
The other properties Arvin critiqued, I used to think they are amongst the most beautiful. The way he shows flaws, even the location being a fire hazard changed my mindset and the way I view and or consider properties. Needless to say, I binge-watched about 15 videos in one sitting......Someone said in the comments he is like a plastic surgeon telling a supermodel how to look better......I totally agree. Kudos
I’m here because your intro nailed it. I feel attacked, but I laughed hysterically the whole time. I have a passion for and interest in real estate. My family has owned beachfront condos for most of my life. Teenager+ I’m also involved in the real estate community in Santa Fe, where multimillion-dollar homes are bought with cash on the regular. I get to tour these homes, inspect stagings, help with open houses, etc. I believe most of us have a genuine interest in real estate, and you are very knowledgeable in the luxury markets. You are not a gatekeeper, unlike previous generations, which were known to be gatekeepers as a whole. The latter would be, you are talking to aspiring multimillion dollar listing brokers. This information is very valuable, and for anyone that wanted to they could carve themselves out a career in the luxury market listening and learning from you. Personally, I have no desire to be a broker, but I like to know things about things. So here I am.
TL:DR: We like big house & big house knowledge. You smart gen x; you give us the millennials & gen z the boomer information to go out into the world with that the rest of the boomers & gen xers kept from us.
That monologue at the beginning is the sad reality and truth of this world. For some that may be the case, but for me, I just enjoy real estate, architecture etc. Your channel provides deeper and more realistic understanding of it and that is also why I would like to see what the perfect mansion is in your opinion as I want to know what is considered perfect by the how to buy a mansion guy.
New fan and subscriber. The rant at the beginning was: 1) Not clear. I really don’t know what point Mr. Haddad was trying to make; 2) Seemingly an attack on the channel’s most engaged viewers, as others have said; 3) Jarringly disjointed from the tone of the rest of the video. It seemed like he was experiencing a “moment”, which happens to everyone. I respectfully suggest cutting that intro rant. I’ve already shared the video so others can see the home tour and critique, but I feel embarrassed to have to excuse the behavior in the intro. Anyway, have a good day. [edit: Saw AH’s response to Mr.giorgiovanni. The written note is clear. The video rant without context isn’t. I understand and agree with asking Arvin to talk about a designer/architect that he really likes after watching him tear down other ones. We can learn from positive remarks vs. negative - learn more IMO.]
Arvin, what an amazing video, your take on it. This designer reminds me of a modern take on the Frank Lloyd Wright design concept. Are you a fan of his? I love his work. I agree, Ardie’s design concept is exceptional because of how he incorporates nature & like concepts into his work. Thank you for introducing me to him. Would love to see more of his work, and your take on it! It’s “exceptional”! 🎉
I loved your intro! 😂🤣 I adore this home, but I’m a few million short of the purchase price. The antique French gazebo is so freaking beautiful. Thanks for another great video.
I used to work in landscaping and those areas with grass and stone stripes will be an absolute nightmare to maintain. You will have to have people on your property every three to four days for multiple hours. Plus it seems like the outside parking area is mostly grass. If it rains and you drive over it with your car it will be instantly destroyed.
Arvin, can't we just enjoy YOU? 😂 enjoy your critiques, very sorry I've watched all of them, now I just have to re-watch while waiting for your next upload. Ty for the fun.
Hardy Tavengarian is one of the best architects and innovators in modern contemporary mansions. I was amazed when I saw his two mansions years ago in Architecture Digest where most of the walls were glass
Love your Channel it’s one of the few things the lady and I can agree to watch together. But at 29:10 When you ask what the house looks like I was hoping you were going to say a grand piano. It seems like the architect did an amazing job turning a grand piano into a beautifully harmonious home with out being so blunt that it’s obvious and off putting. But when you look at the main floor plans you can see it’s shaped like a grand piano. And when you walk into the grand foyer you see the stair case is suspended by what can look like piano strings. I don’t think that was an accident. It’s so beautifully brilliant and subtle it’s a moment in itself.
I can say proudly that I guess my taste actually is good. This is also my favourite house (more of a condo guy) out of everything I've ever seen on youtube and was so a long time before I ever found your channel.
