Scott, as I said months ago it looks like your cyclic has a huge amount of shake. Both the XE's I owned didn't have any cyclic shake. Your flights would be so much more fun without the vibration. Either Mike Messex or Dwight should be able to cure the problem. Something is not right. You need to have it checked.
It seems the cyclic is still shaking as much as before. It also seems that there is some shaking in the airframe. I agree - this looks a lot like blade tracking. It's also possible that you have a mismatched set of rotor blades that deviate from each other with respect to CG in some way. Just guessing. Enjoying your videos.
Thanks for the input. I don't think it's a blade match issue since it doesn't appear in a hover. I'm going to try adjusting the blade trim tabs and see if I can get them set for 80 mph.
@@WoodstaS still in the process. I'm replacing all the bearings in the control path. Found some tight and some loose above the swash plate that could be causing this.
That vibration= accelerated wear on pivot points . You need to figure it out for sure quickly so we can keep seeing videos . I’ve got time in 300’s and in the OH6 and none of these machines had cyclic shake what I’m seeing in these.
I have became very interested in the Mosquito. I live in Port St Lucie, a few hours drive from where you are located I believe. Do you every fly south? Fort Pierce perhaps? I would love to meet and check out the ride and buy you lunch.
Jed, I have family in Stuart. But I am still in my 40 hour fly off so I am limited to 25 miles. I plan to get down there once the Fly off is complete. It's about a 3 hour drive from here to Stuart.
No thoughts. The rules are that for ultralight, no license required. The only Mosquito in that category is the XEL. All the other versions, including the XET, require at least a PPL.
@@orue5499 VFR is Visual Flight Rules in the United States. It means flying with visual references as opposed to flying by aircraft navigation instruments.
I am curious what the maint. costs are for the turbo vs. the piston version of the Mosquito? It is my goal to own one of these, but I want it to be as affordable for me as possible! What are your thoughts on this? Thanks.
I don't think the maintenance is any more than for the piston. I haven't documented cost yet, but so far it's not much more than I spend on my car. Getting all the tools for initial setup did cost some money. I spent maybe 600 on special tools or types of tools i didn't have already.
Solar turbine is on condition. So no hour requirement for overhaul. I had it overhauled before putting it in the aircraft. Unless you have a hot start or other condition causing an inspection requirement, then no maintenance is required. Change the oil regularly.
@@FlyNavy Thanks again. I have a million questions about this stuff! I like the turbo Mosquito a lot as well as the Eagle Helicycle. I am working on my helicopter pilot license with the aim of owning a recreational aircraft in the next year or so. I enjoy your videos and explanations. Keep up the good work.

It is turbine time, so yes you can log it. Single engine turbine just like a certificated aircraft. Some employers may not see it that way, but it's legal.
I'm 6' 0 1/2" and I have about 1/2" clearance with my helmet. But sitting height matters more than height. You would need to try one out. Where are you geographically?
