The range and control in Florence's voice is the thing that gets me. It's just, completely incomparable. I've seen her live and her vocal talents are actually even better live. Not only that, but she seemed a very humble person on stage, delighted that people like to listen to her sing.
it is the farthest thing from free...it is very structured and every note and fluctuation of her vocals is all planned...I can tell.. I sing very similarly and it is ROUGH on the lungs.

A British guy turned me onto her like 9 months ago here on utube, he said he was "totally besodded by her" after listening to her I was instantly hooked as well, it is impossible not to fall in love with her, magnetic. I just went and saw her live June 12th in Chicago 6th row, it was like one big long "holy shit" moment! her voice live is indescribable, a thousand times better than any recording and out of about 75 concerts since 1984 she was by far the best vocalist I have ever heard, to see her live is a religious experience, especially "various storms and saints", brought me to tears... she is a pure Goddess!
Her vocal ability is crazy, her vibrato, she rocks, a very gifted and talented person, we will see some awesome music from her in the future no doubt, Florence Welch is one of those few people who really stand out, she is an INFP personality type, very rare, and and her work is an exposition of the introvert exploding herself into the world, usuallu introverts don't share!
Florence uses her VOICE as an Heavenly INSTRUMENT....the only other person I have ever heard do this with such power was Joan Baez in April, 1968...Incredible talent and range.
I think she has one of the most beautiful voices among females. I mean,you can only compare her pitch to glam metal male singers. By far,This is the biggest feminine voice i've heard.
