ALEAH FINNEGAN IS ABSOLUTELY KILLING IT. 3 10’s in 3 consecutive meet on 3 DIFFERENT EVENTS. I GOT SO HYPE FOR HER WHEN I SAW HER FINISH BEAM CAUSE I KNEW IT WAS A 10. AND THEY BEAT FLORIDA!!!! so proud
@@regardzz in competition i’ve never seen her fall on it but as a former gymnast i know that practice has its ups and downs and for a skill like that she probably makes a couple mistakes. not sure about the extra points but i love that she’s risking starting the routine off with a mount like that
This meet will only push both teams great meet LSU confidence boost … UF will def come back hungry definitely a reminder of what happened at NCAA last year the fight isn’t over until it’s over favorite or not ❤️🤗
The way people in the comment are talking you’d think Florida scored terribly but even with a slightly off meet they still managed to get a great score 😂 LSU did a great job start to finish though. Needed that meet for the morale of the team 👏🏾
In order for other teams to beat Florida they need a help from them and that is when florida have mistakes which they have in this meet LSU have their own mistakes too but i think they needed this 198.
I mean I would have never ever expected LSU to beat Florida, even with hometown advantage.... so I think that's where people are coming from. LSU needed to have a complete meet while also having Florida give up a decent amount of points to actually win this, and that just so happened to be the case. but I agree, LSU def needed that morale boost! and Florida handled their loss like the elegant queens they are 👑
A boost to LSUs confidence but the obvious overscoring and home advantage is there. And FLORIDA going home with 197.9 from home away score is still gonna boost there rankings.
Florida made multiple mistakes all throughout the meet. Lsu was drilling landings and have cleaned details throughout their routines. Fair win in my opinion. Seems like lsu is starting to peak.
@@kate9223 honestly? Not really lmfao.. none that were drastic at least 😂 this meet has been the most put together meet that LSU has had all season to be honest you sound like a hater 😭💯
are we blind or did we watch the same meet? both teams had mistakes and it had nothing to do with home advantage that night we were just better in the end. It was a good meet all around really with some obvious talent on both sides. Quit being so salty over a very very slight loss. We have had a hard season at LSU So this win is a GOOD win and I will remind you that florida beat us i think what 3 times straight on our turf? so
@@crystalcordell7102 exactly like LSU put together a very well rounded meet with improved landings and routines. Little mistakes here and there but none that were detrimental. LSU definitely deserved the win!
At Utah, the fans in the stadium appreciate great gymnastics routines, whether they are from our team or not! We applaud every routine, we’re just not as boisterous for the other team.
28:00 they hyped a KJ segment abt her unique hobbies that are turning heads....was waiting to hear what they were bcuz kJ is my boo....sounds like she works out and drives her Camaro.....yep those are really unique interests😂😂😂
@@luciajules4439 not nearly as bad as florida. and do you realize lsu hasn't won't many meets this year? they lost to arkansas, kentucky, auburn, oklahoma, utah. they're 3-5, so why is it such a big deal?
@@LaurenLeigh because they were not consistent with their routine and had mistakes florida do not gifts from the judges I have always said that I get angry when a judge give them a score when it’s not the right score I just wish the judges would do their job with home and always meets
Not remembering how she’s done this season on beam but this one was pretty good. I don’t think she should be on bars. Hopefully we’ll get to see Riley and maybe Savannah on bars instead in the later season
Leah is still coming back from an injury so they’re probably just saving her body and Jenny is probably trying to help Riley get her mental confidence back and make sure she’s 100% physically healthy before she goes back in on any event
I understood Dicello's score, for the most part- very clean form, but I was a little taken aback when I realized Trinity was given a 10/9.95. Her first handstand was noticeably short, as was the other handstand on the low bar. Obviously, nothing egregious, but certainly sufficient to warrant the judges taking at least a tenth off her score.
There were scoring gifts on both sides. It always happens when these two teams go head to head. The thing about it is though, I feel like LSU got slightly less because they definitely outperformed Florida and were the better team that night. I don’t think either team should’ve gone over 198 or close to 198, but, regardless, LSU should’ve won the meet by more than they did..
Omg YES THISS...glad I'm not the only one. Like put her mid.. or no where at all. bc I have a hard time thinking that with ALL THAT TALENT, there is no one else... With how close the meet was... anyone else in her spot. And we win...
after the first two rotations i gotta say: LSU did great. of course it is sad that kiya is out with that injury but that gives other gymnasts a chance to shine. tori tatum is a joy to watch on bars. they should have put her in the lineup earlier. sometimes i got the feeling that some teams just stick with the 6 gymnasts that are typically in the lineup and other gymnasts of the team dont get to compete at all. also florida seemed a little of in the first two rotations. i hope they bounce back strong in the second half of the meet. after four rotations: LSU really earned that win. they were more consistent. scoring seemed fair to me. there were some scores i dont agree on both sides. and i think this was the forth time this season that trinity thomas got robbed of her 10 on bars. that is ridiculous. she does that routine flawless every single week. this is driving me crazy. and can anyone explain to me why Rachel Bauman does not compete on beam? she looks great on floor and we all know that she is a gorgeous beamer so i dont understand why she is limited to floor. overall a great meet and i hope florida will do even better the rest of the season. at this meet some of their gymnasts seemed just a little off.
Jay Clark said in some interviews that Tori is one of those kids who doesn't always look consistent in practice, but is a competitor in the moment and rises to the occasion. I believe last year she had some injuries, but it sounds like she originally wasn't in the lineup this year because she wasn't consistent enough in practice. But once Kiya went down and they needed her to compete, Tori stepped up her level of performance. Good for her!
I was wondering about Rachel as well. She was the star at Georgia (maybe Soraya Hawthorne too) but in Florida, she's hardly noticeable. She may prefer it that way or maybe she has a minor injury. ??
I'm enjoying the meet & I have a bet w/ myself about the results of the all around (I already spoiled the final team scores). I have to say though on LSU's bar rotation, I think overall the scores averaged or resulted to the team total of what was justified yet I didn't understand the lack of differentiation up and down between some.
Two great teams. It's interesting to compare LSU´s 3 pass floor routines to Florida's. Why do they ALL do only two pass routines? It´s risky as we saw in this meet if you mess up one of your passes.
Why doesn't Florida use Rachel Baumann on more apparatuses? She was consistent in Georgia, and basically was the star of the team, and in Florida she's almost invisible. Does she have a minor injury or something? Or does she prefer to do less?
Arenas 9.9 on bars? um, okay. And 9.85 for Alyona's double not layout...generuos; although i know UF gave away a lot during this meet but home scoring is a joke
From the Judges point of view- 9.9 is fine if they only took the 10th for leg sep on pak or Elena and the short handstand from Tori on her last handstand. The team certainly didn’t give anything away on Landings. Florida was more egregiously over scored in my opinion - but in the end the correct team won. Florida had a mistake on every event- but more so in the first two rotations. That’s what lost the meet for them. Love Trin’s deserved ten tonight. And Aleah and Haleigh duo…the best.
They definitely not weak on vault they just find it hard to stick it. They score higher because of their amplitude, height, and how far they travel on vault just need that stick
she said it’s because there’s 17 gymnasts & only 6 people in line ups… i thought leah was extremely consistent last season but i guess others where better?
Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Leah is so consistent and Payton has shown time and time again that she's not. It just makes me wonder... But honestly, a lot of C. Jenny's decisions make me wonder 🤔. @journei almon , @ali.daviss
I think because she did the tuck position so perfectly that it didn't look like a mistake, and with her difficulty so high it wouldn't affect her start value to do a tuck instead of a layout. So I think she really only got deducted for the large step after the skill because the skill itself was done well enough to look intentional if you didn't know what her planned skill was. Just my guess.
Went to the comments first before watching the video... I am quite surprised to read lsu won. Def thought this would be an easy win for Florida. I'll watch the whole meet now to see what's up lol. Also idk who designs lsu's leos because.... not a fan
Strongly disagree. Her hands almost touched the mat, that alone is at least a full tenth in deductions, not to mention other slight form deductions she has throughout her routine.
feel like lsu was so overscored! even tho Florida was a bit of they should have won scoring on floor for lsu was just bad towards Florida. team gators! 🎉
why are they acting like it's the weirdest thing in the world to be interested in weightlifting (as an athlete, mind you!!!!!!!!) and cars🧐i'm glad kj got a lil shoutout from it, but idk it just felt weird and kinda judgy to me. both completely normal interests
@@layray210 when they said KJ has interesting and unusual hobbies, I expected it to be something like collecting salamanders or painting shoe laces, or something really different. "Cars" is a bit unusual for girls, but for any female athlete to be interested in weightlifting seems pretty standard. (Just because she has a car, does that mean she's really a car buff? Does she read the magazines and watch the RU-vid reviews and all that stuff which the male car enthusiasts do?)
