This hit hard with me. My girlfriend and I recently broke up. We have a son together that's a year and a half. I've been trying my hardest to work things out with her. Her and my son are the most important people in my life...they are my life. So "I'm always going to love you" no matter what happens.

Ex hasn't seen daughter since she was almost 3 yrs old - we separated when she was a year old & divorced about 4 months after his last visit We attended high school together, shared same friends and everything, had so much in common but he became abusive taking pills which affected his mental state and I had to leave him. I'll always love him regardless of the hell he put me through but would like to know how and why he signed his parental rights away so easily. My current husband did adopt our daughter but there's many questions many why's I'd like to know as he moved on with his life too and accepted his wife's daughter whom is about the same age as our daughter who is now in early 20s. Was it really to stop paying child support and the arrears why he signed off? I always assumed so but other actions tell me it's not. I was pregnant when we separated and lost the baby which he has no idea about I think all the stress and other issues affected me when that happened, sadly I take it as a sign from God. Always be there for your child no matter what, ifs its possible that you can be and in same state or within close distance unless you can afford flights. You sound like a decent guy, a father.
