I admire by all of your video. And love planting tropical fruit trees in my backyard but I learned that is not easy here in Phoenix Arizona. So am also dreaming to buy a property at Florida. Any suggestions for plants lover like me, where and how to start?
I prune my mango trees to develop a good initial canopy. After first fruiting, I will prune every year to control size and encourage growth. Pruning should be done regularly every year in my opinion. It has many benefits. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@TheNaveed787 thanks for the response. My tree has fruited for first time; I will prune now. It has gotten so tall, but I did not know if I should prune before it put out fruit.
@Lesa_Simmons Which city are you in? If you prune at the wrong time, you may not get fruit next spring. If you are in Phoenix area, do not prune right now. If you are in Florida, do prune right away. Good luck.
@@TheNaveed787 I am from The Bahamas, the northern island of Grand Bahama, just off the coast of southern Florida. I believe I might be in planting zone 10-11.
@Lesa_Simmons Ok understood. Yes, in my opinion, you should always prune your mango trees right after you harvest to control size and shape as needed and encourage new growth. I think it is a great time and the right time, right now to prune your mango trees. The cuts you make now will produce branches which will carry fruit for you next summer. Good luck.
