Ending your thread on the front~loop method with one strand 

This is the only video I have seen that a stitcher uses one thread and goes over one stitch, using the loop method to end their thread. Thank you so much for this great video.😊 6:40

Ran into problem of 1st or last stitch coming loose and had to frog and re-stitch area. Also happened with both start and stop So since I didn’t want take up new hobby of frogging loose areas…. SO HERES HOW I FIXED IT. I was doing Neurenschwein Castle from Merjetka and changed out piece of 18-20 ct aida At start…. Go down in desired square BUT come up in middle of aida square and place 1/2 pin st in center Then come up in desired st for Loop and finish as your demo TO END…. I bring 1/2 pin stitch in center of square to then do 1 loop method for both halves of “X” and bring thread from back thru middle aida square next to worked stitch with 1/2 pin stitch worked then back thru pin stitch and snip thread This locks ends down tight Linda T

Ahhh this is perfect!!!! Thank you so much for doing these types of videos as I am currently doing a couple of full coverage with a lot of confetti. This is a brilliant idea that will help with all my "tails" I have stitched to the front to stitch over on the back. Makes for a much neater looking front and back on a 1 over 1on a 32 count fabric. 💕

I do full coverage pieces. I got enabled and I am loving the HAEDs right now. I know I probably will change over time but this sure will make the back of projects neater for my full coverage and smaller ones as well. Thank you!

Thank you so much for this info. The single thread loop stitch, start and end, is a fantastic solution. I'm doing a large back stitch only piece and it's hard to find a place to start and end threads in a single line of thread. I just tried it for a start and it worked perfectly. I tried to end a thread but it was too short so I'll get it this time with a longer end piece.

I'm going to give this a go, I've been doing the loop but always ended with a pin stitch (the buried between the threads thing) but it's costing me way too many bent needles...

I tried this as a little sample but was able to easily pull the stitch out. I followed the steps and tried several times but they all just came out. Would love this if it was secure.

I will try this today. I'm constantly flipping and sometimes it can be annoying. I also tried this loop method on 2 strands and I find that I'm wasting less thread that way.

Very good tutorial, and the view is terrific. The best. Wondering if that app for your charts you are using cost anything.

I’m so glad I found this! Many other people who teach this same method always like to pin stitch at the end in addition to the loop finish and I was hoping that the loop finish alone would be secure enough and I can avoid dragging the thread away at the end to have to stitch over with other colors How long have you been using this method and you never saw it get undone with just the loop stitch alone?

Are the stitches nice and tight, not coming out? Will this work with two strands on 18ct? I usually use pin stitches. But they are horrible to get out. I do full cover pieces. Thanks

That’s great for one strand. Can this work using two strands? I work on 14 count.

I have another question, do you think that would be secure enough of an end for an isolated stitch?

Can you use this method with 3 strands of DMC?

I have used this method in the past and had my stitches come undone after a while. Maybe i tugged it to much when clipping the thread, I don’t know, it is a possibility 🤷‍♀️ Keeping in mind i might want to wash it when its done, i stopped using this method and went back to my usual ways of start ending.

Why do you complete your crosses beginning on the left again?
