I tell people , my husband is like a burnt marshmallow - hard and crusty on the outside, and soft and smushy on the inside. We've been married 50 yrs. in August, would choose him again. He also loves people, the Lord, me, and our 5 kids, in laws, and 10 grands. Enjoy your flosstubes. Also, will need to go through my passed Mom's Longabergers (which she also collected) that my sister is storing. I don't remember her having the lid for the market basket.Will have to check. Also have a two drawer spool cabinet and just purchased a very rough 6 drawer last week. Kindred hearts. Thanks for the fun and inspiration.

Love every vintage machine I see. They’re such works of art, compared to our modern computerized machines. I bought myself a treadle machine for Christmas and am learning to restore them- I’ve bought 3 machines since and love to sew on all of them. They’re fun to use for decorative sewing. Thanks for sharing - I love to see what treasures are being discovered by other collectors.

I’m so excited to find your channel. Ohio born and bred. One of my FW found online was from Mansfield where I grew up and it is a 1955 , my birth year and it belonged to the mother of the wonderful seller. I was so thrilled. I have lived near Lake Erie for the last 51 years with my husband who supports my addiction. My studio and cross stitch rooms are full of Longaberger . Mostly Patriotic, the storage baskets and large picnic baskets. Congratulations on your beautiful marketplace finds.

I was a very successful Longaberger consultant back in the 90s. I would organize 2 bus trips a year and travel to Dresden from West Chester. With that being said I have so many baskets as you can imagine. I have the small gathering basket with the travel lid and will now use it at my stitchy spot as you displayed. The basket that holds your project bags is the laundry basket - I have three of those but they hold dirty laundry. I guess I could do some laundry and take one away - LOL! The other basket that you pulled the CHRISTMAS project out of is called the boardwalk basket. Love this video! I love how the 2 loves in my life (Longaberger & Cross Stitch) intertwine❣️

Love your video! The Aunt Martha are embroidery patterns. You iron them on the fabric and embroider. I love them!

Great finds Holly. My husband bought me a featherweight in December and I love it . I named her Marion after my great grandmother . She worked for Goodyear during the war sewing seat covers for airplanes. She’s a workhorse. My mother-in-law worked for Longaberger so I have several baskets ! I also get some floss and notions from my antique and thrift store shopping . Central Ohio and Amish country have great stores .

Fun stuff. I have several longaberger baskets too. I had a lot more but we moved and I had to downsize. I’ve picked up more since then. We used to have so many parties that I’m sure my husband thought those ladies were daycare checks! I’ve not found a featherweight machine but someday. It will be like Christmas

I have a featherweight named Hazel, too, after my wonderful Grandma! ❤ I have many Longaberger baskets ( was a consultant yrs ago). I love using them in my craft room , but now will have to look for the travel lid ( prob donated or sold when I moved)! And your hoops , I collect those too! We love so many of the same things! Cross stitching, project bags, but most of all, our grandchildren & families! All of which makes my heart leap as if it’s Christmas! Love your relationship with Tam! ❤

Now I look for them in Antique stores, I bought the Magazine Basket for reasonable price but wasn't sure what it was, now I know. my mom and I have made a few trips out to the Longaberger Homestead from NJ and have even made some baskets while there..thanks for the fun ideas for what to do with my collection. I love them and will rework them into my craft room that I am always reorganizing

Well another great video. You are a wealth of information. The basket is a gathering basket. The lids were made by a lady and her husband. The leman co. They lived in Ohio around your area. I sold those baskets in the 80’s, even had a group under me. Good money was made then. It’s sad to see what happened. Dave Longaberger was a visionary. I met him and all family members several times. I personally love the pottery. I have a lot of the baskets which I use also for everything. I believe it’s the small gathering and the bread basket that will sit on top of the magazine basket. You can also place basket on the wall and use the handle for a quilt, towel or dollie😊side note. Don’t spend more than 10, 15.00 for the baskets. I can usually find then for a couple of dollars. Plastic inserts are a bonus. My family are all from the ship she area. Did you go to middlebury? Did you do the quilt tour…they are made of flowers and they are beautiful. Please tell me you ate at the das essenhaus, and went to the roll and rise bakery. You could sample everything jams, jellies, Carmel Corn Pops. I could go on. I live 2 hrs away. There are lots of places to antique too. I will be there at the end of the month for are family reunion. Now you have enabled me to start looking for a lightweight.
