@@adammichalec1356 what kind of upgrade... The modded version? And have you had any issues with it at all? Ps thanks for replying ahha. I’m just hesitant cause I did spend $850 (with tax 😪)
Excellent review, my first electric scooter was the gotrax ultra, i work in NYC lots of bumby streets and there is no shocks on the gotrax and I am 57 years old so after 4 months on the gotrax my knees are killing me so I search watch all your reviews and just received my fluid horizon WOW what s difference amazing every thing you said was true on the horizon thanks brother suspension is key and the fit and finish on the horizon is very well made tks again. congrats to electric scooter guide for the great work and awsome reviews!!! i am owner of a ninebot max for 1000 miles, i have riding in very rainy days, hills and very bubby roads and is like the first day..it is so soundless and i think the quality is unbeatable even comparing with much more expensive scooters..
I just bought a Horizon and found the Electric Scooter Guide to be spot on. Really happy with my purchase upgrading from a m365. Horizon feels less mass-market and had a cool industrial aesthetic with lots of sloid black metal and large stainless bolts and screws. Huge fun-factor with this scooter with great carve-ability for this snowboarder.
Just ordered the horizon after watching sooo many scooter reviews, I wanted something with full suspension but didn't wanna pay more than $1000. Really looking forward to my first scooter.
@@jubayarahmed342 no flats yet. Battery still good. Running well. I live in NYC queens and I commute everyday to Manhattan. First scooter I owned and I have no regrets.
@@jorgebazan6052 I live in boston, I might commute to work once I get more confident riding it, not really scooter friendly here in boston yet lol. But I have been having great time, best $700 ever spent.
I bought the ninebot max and the horizon scooter. I'll save you the choice, horizon is better. It actually has suspensions that make you feel safe AND it has faster speed. Ninebot max is just built to make you last longer on the road, but honestly, the difference in distance isn't that much. Get the horizon.
I went with the FFR Horizon about 6 months ago after watching lots of your reviews. Loving it so far except haven’t figured out if I can switch from Kilometers to Miles yet. I fold mine while charging to minimize risk of messing up the charging port. Problem solved. Thank you for making such detailed reviews to help make an informed decision. Paid just $649 for mine.
@@A1Bokeh it’s amazing at the price point. Plenty fast. And I’m a big guy at about 245, which is one of the reasons I bought it. Build quality is great. Thing is a tank. Honestly wouldn’t care if I had to leave it in KM. Doesn’t really affect my use.

I was a little intimidated getting the horizon, especially since I’m a beginner rider but I AM OBSESSED with my new scooter 🤩🤩 my rides to and from work are literally the highlight of my day, and SO SO COMFORTABLE compared to other scooters I’ve tested out. However, if you have a long commute the throttle does get pretty uncomfortable so that’s something to consider!
I have the Horizon. Scored it for $549 earlier in the year. I love it... especially at that price. I tried the Ninebot Max and hated the ride. It didn’t have the torque or speed I was hoping for. The lack of suspension made for a rough ride. My legs would always feel fatigued even after short rides. I’m happy with the Horizon. I’m looking for a little more power now, but the Horizon is a fantastic scooter and recommend it to anyone.
I guess different experiences with different folks. I took my Max out for a ride the other day and I felt that the large air filled tires did an awesome job at smoothing out the bumps. The ride seemed comfortable to me with no real complaints. I enjoy the Max, but I have other scooters that are similar to the Horizon too such as the Nanrobot X4, and the Joyor LR8 that I like as well so I can understand how you feel about it.
I feel super secure when riding on bumpy roads with the ninebot MAX. The tires hold up well and Slime helps as well. The brakes work great, the build quality is wonderful and I get compliments all the time when out and about. I would most definitely get a heavy duty bike lock. I mostly ride without a helmet ( I know not safe) but going 17.5 mph is more than enough speed, especially on city streets. I would buy the ninebot max from BestBuy for their 2 year replacement warranty. Piece of mind for $8.60 per month for 2years. Totally worth it! Segway covers alot with warranty for 1 year as well. I have bought my second Ninebot Max and sold the last ninebot max scooter (after the warranty ended) for half the price on Offer Up with a defect (leaking tire valve). So great resale value as well even with defect. Super Fun Scooter! Great Alternative to purchasing a vehicle especially if you live close to public transit, your favorite shops and dining, work and grocery/farm markets. This is a must when living downtown!
I just bought the fluid free ride and am 30 miles in. I love it and it charges fast and finally comes with a bell, it’s so damn fast and I rarely use it on its highest power setting. It’s not a beginner scooter and it has a great display, I’m super happy with it and has a lot of visibility at night. I did smack the handlebars on my head when I was folding it lol just don’t put your head in the way when you fold it. The braking was super easy to adjust with the included multi tool. I do wish it had a key to start because if you just leave it outside anyone can start it
Surprised you didn't give any long term insights since you reviewed both of these so long ago. Also Horizon vs TW Swift vs Touring I think would be more appropriate comparo
An actually interesting comparison here would be the Fluid Freeride Horizon against the E-Twow booster s+ (different name in US?), that'd actually be competitive and isn't obviously one or the other.
@@matchingchong the full size max but it has the new motor . The LP is a smaller, lighter scooter so it won't suit bigger people as much in general. I forgot if it uses the same motor, perhaps it does and therefore can go a little quicker

Brakes are so important, those quick emergency moments where breaks are needed are a must for safety. If you live in metro cities you know what I mean. NB max makes the most sense wise.
Thanks for the comparison. Both look great, and I think I like the Ninebot Max better, but the folding handlebar would really help when taking a scooter on a train or bus trip to a different city. Maybe eventually somebody will create a mod kit for the Max to remedy that shortcoming.
hey there. ive seen some websites saying ninebot max is 40.4 miles range. are they saying that's what you'd get if you rode at low speed and on flat surface?
idk, but when I got gen 2 motor from warranty, I could go 20 mph out of the box. And 22mph with firmware mods. Talking about the ninebot max Also, if I knew about the horizon, I probably would have gone with horizon
Ah that sucks. Yeah the people at EcoReco don’t really back their product so much anymore. The Razor team back their products, but they’ve let other YT channels review their EX-R (Eletrek). Your channel is definitely more detailed and shopper focused than anyone else I know! That’s why I subbed to y’all! 😁
Horizon superior lmao, feels like a cheap plastic toy that will break at any time...I guess some people just dont know any better...And btw the Ninebot Max G30 is way superior...
can you please review a scooter that look like the turbowheel swift but is from wish. I would love to see that. There $350 so its much cheaper but is it realy that bad?
The ninebot max is the best scooter out there for me the only 1 problem is the speed what if it had more speed which scooter could test that, some people know how to upgrade their max and I hear no regrets
If you're looking for range/ride quality, we'd probably go with the Xiaomi 365 because it gets almost double the real-world (tested) range of the Cityrider. However, if you want a scooter that looks built for cruising beachside and you don't care about going too far too fast, Cityrider's a good cruiser because you're going right around 16 mph. Good luck shopping! - Trina
Dose anybody know anyone in Philadelphia with experience repairing ninebot max scooters? Rear wheel puncture, bought replacement tire but when I went to change it, a lot of the wires are fried 😞
I’ve had 4 different GoTrax scooters and finally got a Fluid Free Ride Horizon about 4!weeks ago. I’ve ridden over 100 miles on it and it’s amazing. The charging stem comes with a screwing lock. Just be careful when charging it not to whack the handlebars or let it fall. Otherwise it rides like butter. Adjustable suspension with a turn of an Allen wrench (which they give you a small Swiss Army knife looking tool with 6 different Allen wrench sizes, flathead and Phillips screwdrivers, wrench attachment and wrench sockets for 8,9, and 10mm and some other weird key looking thing. Anyways it’s perfect to carry with you if you ever have a problem or want to adjust the suspension. As for the handlebars unscrewing on their own, I have NEVER had that problem. Solid scooter that kicks some serious ass for a good price. I haven’t done my review yet on the fluid site but I would give it 4.9/5. The only things that they can change is a higher front headlight and charger location.
Yeah, sorry man but I don’t think the horizon can ride in bad weather like the max alongside with minimal maintenance it also depends on the person like what?
The background music is a little overbearing from your voice. Music, if any, should be half of what you have posted in this video as I'm trying to listen to you talk.
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I don't know if I would call it an "upgrade" as it's only unlocking the full potential of the scooter, plus what fun is an OEM scooter?
What kill me about these comments is everyone choosing herizon but mostly everyone you see had a ninebot max I barley see a herizon scooter and they have a wear house in Brooklyn ? I’m honestly caught on these two scooters I feel I should go with the ninebot cause I feel it would last longer but I wanna go with the herizon for the Suspension I’m just so confuse lol someone help me 😂⁉️
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide tru but I also see a lot of reviews on the herizon saying they sell it with faulty batteries most of the time and know myself ima use this scooter for UberEats so I need something that’s gonna last for more then a year
some comments are by company employees. ninebot has been proven to be durable. even now years after this video you would see ninebot max but not the other. this fluid horizon is the same scooter as yume s10, obarter x1, kugoo kirin m4, all are made in same warehouse and rebranded.
Hmmm.... you're right! I don't see an IP rating for the Horizon. The Max, on the other hand is our #1 pick for rain riding. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1vuMYssAiS4.html -Paul
What is with the ridiculous and enervatingly loud background music? Don't you guys know the value of silence at the scene, while trying to listen to someone talking? DARE TO BE DIFFERENT, cut planet earth noise pollution at the same time as we all e-scoot to cut air pollution ! Be an antipolluting mutant !
My dad is 250lbs, he rode my ninebot max numerous times and it rides great for him. He got 22 miles on it using Drive (Middle Mode-15mph) and 18miles going sport mode (17mph).
