Hi Dan ! It was worth it to watch this video just to see the amazing colors on that brookie. What a beauty that guy was. The current in that river looked a little slow to me. In slow water, the fish get a good look at your bait. Sometimes they are not fooled by our imitations.
Good to see and hear ya Dan, even when fishing is on tough side. Montana was tough due to high water, but had some good days and had some pretty good catches....
@@DownstreamDownrange one thing about having to adjust to all the conditions is we are forced to find new places to fish. Total chore but....sometimes leads to some really cool shtuff! And yes sir, I think one of the rainbows I got was in the 20" realm and he had some pretty good weight on him. I may send you a pic:) Tight lines brother
@@DownstreamDownrange too hot… Bridgeville was 67.8 at 9:30pm!!! Too damn warm. The gorge will be cooler, but its a hike to find deep flowing pools with good water. Denton Falls would be a good choice.
I live in upstate, all the creeks and rivers are just about dried as I’m writing this 7/11/22. I traveled to Ausable this past weekend and saw ran into a guide who he himself hasn’t seen much trout action lately. I might just take time off until the rain comes!
Yep! And also in addition to the low water (not always a bad thing) is the water TEMPS! This video although posted recently was still back when water temps allowed! Now…. We are really in trouble. For me it’s the Tailwater systems until maybe September! ….. anyway good luck out there be sure to check temps and tight lines !!!!
You know me, I always love your videos. Your knowledge and explanations are spot on. I love how you not only help the novice but also us old bastards and get us off our duffs to get back out there and ply those trout waters. But, like you said. The rivers are literally running out of water and they will cook up faster , we need a lot of rain. Actually a couple days of steady cold rain. I really am feeling sorry for these poor trout. Love all your vids , and you caught a beautiful brook trout. Very healthy and colorful. Take care and as always , looking forward in seeing more soon. Maybe cold small spring fed systems next. Hmmm.Tightlines bud !
@@DownstreamDownrange Yeah. A way better idea. Definitely , ahhhh , let’s say area too fish. Lol. Jeez. Can’t be too careful what you say these days. Haha. F them!!
Hey! Unfortunately I can’t specify the state as the river is already a little more on the vulnerable side. But, it’s all good all the states! Thanks for watching
@@DownstreamDownrange the hoosic is actually way healthier than people give it credit for. I fish it all the time. It’s had its share of issues but recovered well
Yah unfortunately public guiding business like the Harrison anglers and others have already completely destroyed it. Not to mention orvis has articles on the river and not too mention it’s on public stocking lists. But you’re right my vid is the only problem 🙃
@@DownstreamDownrange Harrison Anglers has significantly contributed to higher pressure, discernibly over the last several years. Pressure has exploded. But at least Harrison anglers won’t DIRECTLY name it on the internet, this is egregious. Edit the name. You and Harrison anglers are both helping the steady demise and no it doesn’t matter if it’s already been in print. Even 6 years ago this fishery was largely only locally known
