My father was a private pilot since the early 1960s until the 1990s. We enjoyed many family trips flying throughout the U.S. including Alaska. Dad owed several airplanes throughout his flying career that included Piper cub (first airplane) Beechcraft G36 Bonanza and Cessna 172. Almost every weekend we flew somewhere for lunch or fly to Southern California for a weekend trip to Disneyland. How I miss those days!
Now this is the different side of you that I like seeing more often don't get me wrong I love your adventures on the airplanes and testing out different airlines and challenging yourself. But I'm definitely learning more about who Noah truly is, as a fellow Creator on this platform I find this pretty damn cool... Love seeing Rach & kids in your video's. Sam is a good first officer, he is learning so fast. Rach is being chauffeured by her 2 men, as it should be. lol Sam will have his own channel soon.

Brilliant video. You are right. Flying to a place is alot better than being in a car. You beat the traffic. That's one thing I like about having a motorbike. You can filter through the traffic.
Good Heavens, what a treat to fly with your Pops, 1st Officer Sam! Had me first Fish & Chips down in Brighton, back in September 2000. Blighty's me favourite (British spelling) city, as of current. Never been to The Middle and/or North of England: Birmingham, Sheffield, Leeds, Newcastle or o'er to the East: Manchester, Liverpool, Blackpool. When I get to do some flying in the UK the radio phraseology will definitely take a little bit getting used to. Some elements are very different to Australia.
100% agreed. Flightsim is a great way to introduce flying to children. Plus they learn how to read and use the various instruments and learn multitasking from early on. Vatsim is a great way to learn atc too.
My favorite airplane is the Piper Arrow, PA-28 R200. Never owned, just flew one in training. Would you consider this trip a "Hundred Dollar Fish and Chips" stop? The PA28 is around £150-160 an hour, plus an instructor, so for training around £180 an hour. You need 45 hours minimum to learn to fly. I did it in 8 months when I learned, but that was flying every weekend sometimes both days! Don't forget of course the cost to keep it up once you're licensed, which was where I fell down 20 years ago. You need to keep flying at least one takeoff or landing a month, preferably more to stay proficient. Hope this helps :)

@@FlyWithNoelPhilips Thank you for the reply. I started watching your travels around the world with your reports on the different airlines of the world, making fascinating viewing. However, when I found your piloting videos, I was even more impressed with total respect to your new found (for me) talent. I have forever fantasised of being a pilot, never managing to achieve that dream except on flying my MSFS 2020 simulator, the nearest I will ever get to being a pilot. So using the Bonanza 36 single engine plane on the sim, I am flying all around the uk landing at as many little out of the way airfields I can find using VOR navigation. The Bonanza affords us the luxury of a glass cockpit so I feel very posh! Thank you for your entertaining videos with your friendly delivery, really appreciate it. By the way I'm way past my sell by date, 76 this year, so won't be realising that dream. Good luck to you and family.
Hi Noel, great family day! Would it be possible for you to breakdown the cost of such a day flying? I am planning on starting my PPL, but one thing I am not sure on is the cost of then enjoying a day like this for example
7000 - it used to be "squawk 7000" (i.e. VFR) but terminology has recently changed to 'conspicuity' I believe due to the fact IFR flight uses a different conspicuity squawk, '2000'.
I love your videos when you are flying, especially with your family, but one thing annoys me. Please remove your checklist that you keep tucked in on the right of your instrument panel. It often spoils the best views of all. Thank you.
