I honestly think it would be better as "why do you cry". After all, not only would it makes sense on the grounds that it isn't uncommon for a blushing bride to be an emotional wreck before her big day. And when you place that idea in with the rest of the song a lot of it clicks together quite seamlessly. But, you know how Christman rock is, if they don't shoehorn in God or Jesus it's the end of the world.

Yui Shishido that's not a shoehorned metaphor. The church is refered to as both the bride and body of Christ (1Cor 12:12-31,Eph. 5: 22-33, 1Cor). Marriage is used through the entire bible as a metaphor for God's relationship with his people.

Camille Pendragon look, I while I do not share your beliefs I do understand and respect them. However that aside look at Skillet. A Christian rock band that attracts all groups. Fly leaf alienates other belief systems thus holding them back. When you are blunt and abstract with such concepts people will often turn it off. If spreading the word of YAHWEH is so important then you keep it subtle and keep people in. Then like Skillet use the concerts as a venue for such preaching. Do you understand where I'm getting at? True, my original comment came from a place of annoyance but my underlying point stays sound.

Joshua Strickland This morning in church my preacher was talking little bit about forgiveness. He said that you got to let the Lord inside of you to forgive. You can't forgive alone. It's not in mankind mind to forgive. You got to have help in the Lord to forgive. It is hard to forgive. I think "Fighting ends in forgiveness" means you will forgive the people who hurt you when you let Lord Jesus Christ inside your heart.

As a human, we feel we have to defend what we believe. Their are ways to defend, but not be aggressive. All the things you mention are true, but think of what Jesus did when he saw people peddling their wears in his fathers house, he went in Guns blazing telling them to get out. Would you want someone selling livestock and stuff in your parents home? mostly likely not. Also, Jesus was no push over. He was a radical and rocked the temples by preaching love and understanding, but also things that the priest found offensive. I would defend the name of my Savior until I am blue in the face, but I do it calmly. To Turkey understand what Jesus wants from us, we hAve to understand the man. Everyone had a right to defend their faith. Jesus was not humble. Jesus was not always understanding, and didn't always turn the other cheek. Jesus was a man, who died and battled death for our souls, then was resurrected as the true son of the father. Not to be mean, but I think you need to really look into what it means to be a Christian. Whether you are one or not. You can't speculate how people are to behave. Humility is the key. Respect others, but don't be a push over. If you offend the name of my Savior, I am not going to just sit back and take it. Take pride in your faith, not yourself.

you should never laugh at peoples beleifs, religion is there for people who need it. Im agnostic but Ive seen religion bring peace to those who need it and save lives

+Anne Marie I'm sorry I just don't believe in blind faith...there are too many holes in the stories and to many contradictions, I don't hate on anyone who is religious because I understand people's need to find something to look forward to in the afterlife,I just laugh because I can.

of course there are holes in the stories, theyre metaphors and simply stories told to give people faith. and religion isn't about looking forward to something in the afterlife its about living a fufilled real life with the promise of a good afterlife.

yeah and the stories are up for interpretation too. I'm pagan but I have a lot of respect towards other religions. I personally think we all believe in the same or a similar entity just with different names, faces, and forms. sometimes a multitude of forms within the same religion. it's all a source of energy and a means to help focus our own with the inclusion of our intent.

What kind of person actually finds it funny when they think other people are wrong? It's very condescending. And if songs have different interpretations, not one person is right. As an atheist, i'm not gonna hear any literal christian-stuff in any songs. Seems more metaphorical to me.

freddyfan951 Sir, you put your views on everyone else "this is about,...not about..." You didn't say "This is how I feel about the song". It's funny because while music is for everyone and you can change the meaning of the song to fit yourself, you decided to try to share your views as fact when it's very clearly not. You don't know Flyleaf (at least old Lacey fronted Flyleaf) if you think otherwise. Lacey is the most on fire for Christ I know. She was Atheist, drug addict who was going to kill herself before she became Christian. Flyleaf music IS for everyone, but Lacey wrote it with her beliefs in mind, as this can be plainly heard in this song. She explains meanings behind her songs. Or she did, before she left the band. Not here to preach or "convert", but "Body of Christ" and "Beautiful Bride" are in the Bible a lot. Jesus used a lot of parables, and the Church is the Bride of Christ. Again, you yourself don't have to think of it as it was meant to be written. And you are also right, it's not religious. Knowing Jesus isn't the same as knowing religion. At any rate, the important thing is you have good taste in music. Lacey has one heck of a set of lungs. Peace dude! ^_^

It's my opinion of the song, and i never said or indicated that my views should be felt by anyone else. As an agnostic who has read the bible, i do not interpret religious allegory into most things, which is something i have seen quite a few devout people do. I am not offendedly defending anything, just clearing misunderstood things up.

You can’t put aside Jesus when this is all about Jesus. God is great and don’t let bad Christians push you away from Jesus
