FMS - Avanti S V3 - 70mm - Unbox, Build, & Radio Setup 

Hi Brian, great Video. Thanks for helping me to start flying early this year with tips on the Turbo Timber, T-28 (your comments on flaperons), Turbo Timber UMX and many more. I´m now around my 15th plane or something like that (mostly all have been second hand). You helped me a lot the first months. After that I went into a club and I´m still learning and enjoying. Now I´m about to start on my first EDF, this same one but the V1 version. I bought it from the family Trumpp here in Germany which have been many times F3A german champions and have done some good places in Europe competitions. This hobby is really great... I was searching about throws on flaps an general setup. Your Avanti looks great with the lights! Thanks again from Bavaria, Germany, from a half chilean half german rookie pilot!

I know this is an older video and you’re already done assembly and maiden. But in respect to the RX placement, I have put them on the inside of the top of the fuselage right behind the battery compartment lid latch . I have a couple of the Freewing Avante‘s and that’s where I’ve placed them. Haven’t had a problem so far. Edit; I didn’t watch the video far enough to see your lovely bride. Come up with the idea of putting it in the spot that I was talking about. 😂

It’s called a nitro ducted fan. That’s how we flew jets before turbine and wayyy before EDFs where ever thought of.

Brian, what did you think about your flights on 6S 4000 packs, did it fly too heavy? I keep thinking about grabbing this one but I don't have any planes that run the 6S 3300's and don't feel like buying/stocking a pack that I only have one plane that uses it. Another concern is the speed vs the 900mm wing span. I have a banshee 64mm with the upgraded motor and it's 900mm and I can see it with no problem but the speed of a 70mm in that size wing span may be harder to track in flight? Thanks.

Spektrum is a really good provider of radios & batteries! I used to use Futaba but now prefer the Spektrum. Just bought the new Spektrum Remote ID Module (SPMA9500) required in Sep 2023 by FAA. Looking forward to your channel covering that product ;-) ... also registered my planes and completed the FAA Trust requirement on the AMA site... easy enough, but annoying.

Are you going to review the Spektrum ID unit they have just introduced to the market.

Hi Brian, Im a relatively new to flying , I started last summer, and I have been gradually improving, I have a Habu STS on its 3rd rebuild (my first plane) that I have grown pretty confident with, I am looking for my next EDF and was trying to decide between the Viper 70 and the Freewing Avanti, aesthetically i like the Viper but im afraid of its “bite” and the 90 is too big for my car. Any suggestions?

Question for the pros. Could the plane's flight characteristics be affected by not filling in the empty space on the other side of the wing fences?

Hey do you have any tips on how to hand launch the v900 every time I hand launch it it twirls into the ground with safe on also I've tried 20% 40% 60% throttle and still no success when it does work it barley works

Just my own opinion, of course, but these sport jets have never interested me. I've always felt that if I'm going to invest in a jet, I'd rather have one based on an actual, real world, airframe. A lot of people like em, though, I realize. But, for roughly the same price, you can have that beautiful FMS 70mm F-16.
