Thanks Louise. Do you mean the trigger point therapy rollers? Or the actual therapy? If you mean the therapy I haven't really seen much of it so I can't give an opinion but in principle I think it's good and I use some trigger point techniques in my treatments. As long as it works for the patient then it's a good thing! Best wishes, Ashley.

I have an extremely tight back with a lot of knots which foam roller would you recommend for the upper back
@PrecisionWellbeing
@PrecisionWellbeing 6 лет назад
Personally I prefer using massage balls for the back, especially the lower back. I would say that you shouldn't use a foam roller on the lower back. The balls will be better. A foam roller is good for mobilising the spine and rolling the muscles either side of the spine. For this any roller will be fine, I'd just use the plastic insert roller for this. I hope that helps, Ashley.

Thank you for making this video. As a runner, I am looking into getting either the firm rumble roller or the gator. Which one do you think is best to work on IT band, hamstring and calf tightness, and soreness? Thank you for your time.
@PrecisionWellbeing
@PrecisionWellbeing 4 года назад
Hi Paul you're welcome. Out of the two you mentioned I would recommend the Rumble Roller. However I would suggest you don't roll your ITB because it won't make much difference. Instead focus on the Tensor Fascia Latae and the Gluteus Maximus to loosen up the ITB. I also like using Lacrosse balls for the hamstrings rather than rollers. I hope that helps. Best wishes, Ashley.

Hi Quilted Kitchen. Sorry for the delayed reply! I have looked everywhere but I can't find the tougroll so I'm afraid I can't give you an opinion. However I'm sure if your chiropractor recommended it to you then there must be some worthwhile qualities to it. If you can post a link to what you're talking about I can have a proper look for you? Great overview really clear - thanks Amy recommendations with Achilles tendinitis ? Many thanks
@PrecisionWellbeing
@PrecisionWellbeing 6 лет назад
Hi Ylva, thank you! You will want to reduce tension through the Achilles tendon as much as you can. Stretching and foam rolling will both be useful. Also avoid any jumping, skipping and running as these will put a lot of tension through the tendon. I hope that helps, Ashley.
@Panchkula007
@Panchkula007 3 года назад
I just feel that hard foam rollers should not be used. I just feel that the main role of foam roller is to remove any knots and that can be done by a soft roller...maybe just use the one with few dots if you want just a bit more grip for the knots but that should be the maximum...these rugged foam rollers are quite hard on fascia i reckon.

@PrecisionWellbeing
@PrecisionWellbeing 5 лет назад
They are great! Personally I don't recommend using a foam roller on the side of the thigh (on your ITB) because in my experience it doesn't make much of a difference except cause you a lot of pain. The ITB is basically just a big long thick tendon. You would be better using a massage ball into your hip muscles instead. Best wishes, Ashley
@DanielinLaTuna
@DanielinLaTuna 5 лет назад
Precision Wellbeing Group, thanks; I learned something today. Both about the roller and the massage ball. I was gonna buy a larger Triggerpoint (I have the 4” travel roller) but now I’ll get the Rumble Roller. And the ball, as advised to Pyramid Ceres
@lemonadeskater
@lemonadeskater 3 года назад
How does the pink one work? What’s the difference between the longer and smaller roll, vs the shorter and bigger diameter
@PrecisionWellbeing
@PrecisionWellbeing 3 года назад
Hi Melody, the pink one is very similar to the orange one I showed. The difference is the pink one is about $15 whereas the orange one is about $60. The thinner a roller is the more it will focus into a muscle and may be more painful. Sometimes it is easier to roll on the longer ones because you can fit the width of your body or legs on it. It all comes down to budget and preference. I hope that helps. Best wishes, Ashley.

Sorry to hear about your back! We don't recommend rolling your lower back as this could potentially make your back worse. Instead stretching would be better, or find a practitioner near you who can help to relieve the tension in your lower back. Thank you for the great video! I've just tried foam rolling (with the cheap one) and holy cow it worked its way through my stiff calves! I also highly recommend using a massage ball roller for smaller, more sensitive muscles. I have the Decathlon Aptonia roller and it works great for my arms and shoulders. I'm thin so I really can't foam roll my back yet due to lack of muscle mass there. 😂

I thought so too in the first minute, I hate when people start to ramble but than I realized he was actually on point. It creates that idea because he keeps looking down like he forgot what to say and sounds like he's about to stutter but never does. It's just the way some people talk. I know because I can relate and I find it impossible to change it. For me it just needed a few seconds to understand his rhythm and it was all cool. Very helpful video.

@PrecisionWellbeing
@PrecisionWellbeing 6 лет назад
+EPSTomcat11 personally I find the long ones easier to roll both sides of the body at once (like rolling the thighs). But this also depends on your size; if you're small the short ones will do just fine but if you have a larger frame then a long one will be easier. Apart from that it's just personal preference. I hope that helps, Ashley
