It’s really great UCSF is offering so many focal therapies. As explained, there may be a better FT depending on the site of the cancer. Kudos to UCSF for not favoring one over the other but realizing each may be relevant to an individual cancer patient.

Thank you for sharing this data, the success rate and decrease in complications should be enough to utilize this treatment as primary therapy in cases that have focal lesions of all grades.

It is depressing to watch this when my prostste cancer is all through my body. Just waiting to die on pain pill when I cannot take it any more.

So what is done if the primary lesion does not have prostate cancer. The biopsy revealed that the 3+4 is outside the lesion. Because it was a focused biopsy of the lesion, and 12 other biopsies showed 3+3 or were benign, which were done into each zone. I guess a hemi ablation could be done.

Been exploring this treatment, but no insurance wants to cover it; only surgery or radiation.

Dr. Shinohara thinks it's fun to do procedures without proper anesthesia. I think he just likes to see you squirm. Laughed when I told him I couldn't do Rezum under local after a very bad cystoscopy. I will never see him again.
