Fontaines D.C. - Skinty Fia - FIRST REACTION 

Squid is another cool up and coming post-punk band, from the same scene as Black MIDI and BCNR. They rule

I recommend reacting to some Black Midi before their new album in July, their first 2 are incredible and will make for a good first reaction

'I love you' is an exceptional track. Those verses send shivers down my spine. I've not listened to their previous albums but this is great. It's got a rawness whilst being so mature lyrically. It's poetry at times.

You should definitely listen to brutalism or joy as an act of resistance by IDLES, they’re one of the bands that popularised the recent British post punk scene, and are one of the best and most consistent bands in the world ATM

Such a great album. I'd always *wanted* to get into Fontaines D.C. but struggled to until this. It's this like, great mix of Joy Division, The Stone Roses and something unique.

The opening of Roman Holiday gives me goosebumps every time. Great react vid

I already love this band and have all three of their albums. Loved watching your reaction to this amazing new album by them. I hope you are going to be consistent with playing and reviewing other bands as good as this. Everything Everything's new album comes out this month and the new Foals album comes out this summer.

I've listened to these guys everyday for like the past 2.5 years, and have yet to get tired of them. Literally EVERYDAY haha. They are also great live! Super raw and authentic, and you can say they made it? They are touring with the Arctic FUCKING Monkeys this year. Fav band

Yes Jon! Great idea with a separate channel for this. I know what you mean about the vocalist Jon, it took me a while but now I love him and the band! Like with the title track for you, all their music grew on me with each listen Theyre superb live too, lots of energy

You're absolutely right about how these tracks will grow on you. I had pretty much the same thoughts as you on first listen, but can confirm every single song has a very special place in my heart a year down the line. it takes time for you to understand what each track is trying to do and once you understand its incredible

great reaction! you should react to some black midi their album cavalcade was maybe the best album of 2021 or if you dont want to commit to a full album they just dropped a new single "Welcome To Hell" and it's honestly one of their best songs they are a really great experimental rock band with some jazz elements and they are from the UK

Black midi, squid, shame and bcnr are some of my favorite acts from the current "post punk" scene in the UK at the moment and I think it could be interesting to do some coverage of those groups. I'd especially recommend getting into black midis discography before their 3rd album drops in July

If you'd told me that after first hearing fontaines dc that they would become the band I listened to most since, I would never have believed you. First fell in love after listening to a heroes death, but am all over them now. Also loved Grians track with Leftfield, and his new album, especially Fairlies 👌❤️ absolutely love his voice. Loved watching the reaction to this, great content thanks

I would love to see a reaction to st. Vincent- daddy’s home. I was so happy when she got the Grammy for this one and it’s one of my favorites of last year.

Hello Johnny boyyyyy, love that you’re reacting to this stuff as well now. Would be interested to see you react to some Viagra Boys. I’d say their 1st album (Street Worms) is better personally but their second LP (Welfare Jazz) came out last year and is also pretty cool.

You have to listen to IDLES if you haven't yet. They're a UK punk/post-punk band with high energy songs and great lyrical themes. "Joy as an Act of Resistance" is my go-to album by them.

I love, “Couple Across the Way”. Think it highlights their trad Celtic influences really clearly. But I’ll admit I’m biased toward contemporary Scots/Irish folk stuff

Amazing band, sensational album. You should check out an Australian band called DMA’s and they’re first album Hills End

I went to watch these live last week and the way they perform this album is like nothing I've ever heard the energy is ridiculous and they have a strange way of changing the tempo and aggression in songs to the point when they nearly don't sound like the same songs from the album. It was an incredible night and this band have so much potential it's crazy

You need to hear The Smile's album that drops this Friday, it's a new band formed by Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead and it's absolutely phenomenal!

You should check out “Glow On” by Turnstile. They’re a hardcore band that have blown up in the last year

Another band you should check out is Iceage. Theyre also considered post punk but in a very different way, they take punk and combine it with elements from noise rock as well as blues and country/americana stuff.

I’m happy I’ve found someone who loves this album as much as me. It’s very cinematic, atmospheric, and big. You can definitely picture something for every song. A couple across the way does kill the vibe though🙁

would love to know what you think of this today, I wasn't the hugest fan on first listen, it was around a high 7/low 8 for me at the time, but it's genuinely grown on me to the point where it's my favourite album of the decade alongside Wolf Alice's Blue Weekend and Kendrick's Mr Morale
