Grubby got so baited into countering Beastmaster to try to prove his tier listing that he made Mass Casters with Paladin just think about that for a second Mass Casters/Paladin lol
First time seeing Grubby get absolutely dogwalked from the get-go, wow. Can't blame your teammates when they always had to deal with an army stack in their fights
Tempo matters. BM's bear can be dispel, sure, but say goodbye to your casters' mana from doing that. I think you can view BM as early game +6 gold mines investment for your team. This guy also invested heavily into heal early so BM can survive long enough for maybe a second bear.
bad tier list. your tier list was 1st hero. while beastmaster actually the most powerful on the couple early levels. building counter for his summons is screwing your frontline/dps comp. while not building counter meaning free unit.
A foolish Orc warrior, step forth to oppose Uther. Just before the final blow was struck, Uther opened a portal in light, trapping the foolish orc warrior in the future where Uthers light is law! Now the fool seek to return tot eh past to undo all that's Aku.. eerrmm Uther
Don't know why Grubby doesn't like archers - they are so good in this format. I think Archers and Rifleman are the best basic backline units - problem with berserkers is their short range puts them in danger while archers and rifleman typically get more shots off. There is a reason they both cost more.
The problem with archers are that they require big investment. Both in terms of upgrades, and the price of the unit itself compared to it's statline. If you take their cost out of the picture, and assume fully upgraded, then yeah they're good.
I didnt watch the tier list video but to me pala is actually one of the strongest imo. If you just get divine, he will literally battle for the ages while healing his team. He may be the last standing but he holds down the fort pretty well alone
Great play sir, Paladin is the goat^^ Q: Would the bats concoction turned off during fight against chims and turned on at 25:25 work against hyporiders ?
Your tier list doesn't really take into account early, mid and late game for heroes. Summons are great on early waves to create tempo, while aura champions scale better with army size. A hero like paladin might be S tier on an optimal board, but he's basically useless as 1st hero.
I just denyed ghuls hh shams in m'y last draft, just to have huntresses (rifle sorc).i went for a melee hero, bought him some hpmax and enjoyed the show! My opponent went all in HH that does nothing to my panda. I Lost a couple a games previously trying to counter opponent huntresses armee while he had a resilient melee hero!
Hunts --> No Melee Hero is a fundamental misunderstanding of how melee heroes work. Melee Heroes gain more exp in Direct Strike to compensate for being harder to keep them alive. Thus, when going melee hero, you want to make sure you're winning the early waves so your hero levels well and gets tanky enough to stay alive later. This is actually exactly the use case of hunts, they can be bullies early game and fall off later. So you have the logic reversed. I normally wouldn't comment like this, but the chance of me knowing something Grubby doesn't only comes along once in a lifetime...
because they don't think about the game in any in depth way and aren't interested in either testing or learning. So osmosis and other peoples takes are all they can parse information wise. Why do you think *most* of the world just parrot whatever information they're fed.
just wayyy too weak frontline i think... Ghouls invalidated with lightning shield and no 2ndary frontline except taurens which was delayed t3. Pala is also more of a supportive hero, probably really low impact as a first pick
I think you lost to Beast because you invested into the dispel while Beast could invest into combat units that would tear your shamans apart, so you always invested to keep his summons down to "disable" beast, but by doing so you overinvested into countering beast and his army just whooped yours. Also later he then used a lot of buffs and that combined with the beasts stretched your dispels too thin to effectively deal with either. At least that is what I think from watching. Another thing is that to me an S-tier hero is one that should be very strong (almost) regardless of army while A-tier would be either very strong with the correct units or at least strong without them, and based on that I would argue Paladin is A-tier, not S. I do not think Paladin is all that good if he doesn't come with a high HP army that can make proper use of devo, so I do think unless you fast tech you probably want either grunts or hunts as t1. With the idea being that paladin tanks the intitial impact, D-shields out and then the split up damage combined with the armor boost on a high-ish HP frontline just "outsoaks". Footman are playable, but I think with ghouls you can't heal them with holy light and they don't come with sufficient HP to make good use of devo and that was another factor IMHO why you lost this decisively.
Grubby... look. Huntress is the best T1 frontline. Trust me. Just make more of them. They win against all other t1 melee (except early game vs grunt, but they win after a certain point due to how they scale better with numbers and bounce upgrade). They win against pierce, because even if they take bonus damage, they still have way more hp and dps overall. And later on you can stick something in front that invalidates all their pierce anyways meaning you've made your opponent hardcounter themselves. They win against mixed, because you will simply delete their frontline and then it turns into a frontline vs backline battle. They work just fine with melee hero. You position your melee hero behind your hunts, so your hunts engage/aggro their frontline first. Hunts beat essentially everything on the ground (with appropriate reactions to what your enemy does). Just stay low tier and make a lot of them. Go to tier 2 to get the bounce upgrade when you get around a full line of them, and make sure to get unit upgrades. If I see huntress, and the caster unit is decent (e.g. not Sorc), I'm taking them. And if the other option is ghoul, I'm definitely taking them, sorc or not. (For qualifications, I'm 1800 ELO/Adept 2 and started playing 13 days ago).
Game need more content, getting stale, more veriety of monsters, heroes, possibly Neutral bosses that spawn in the middle and walk slowly towards ur tower/fortress... more items.
Maybe its biased to only seeing the videos on youtube, but it seems like any time Ghouls are selected the momentum loss from having poor frontline early leads to a loss
