@@lindawest1776 it's crazy how unrecognised he's been since the drummer from The Who said he was responsible for some of the stuff he played on Who records🫢
The lead , rhythm and drumming is superb. The Shadows produce the kind of music that is atonce captivating. .... ..... The Shadows are simply par excellence.
My dad brought me up listening to the music from the 60's in the 90's. I love the shadows and this is my favourite track. I would of loved to see them..xxxx
They have God given the ability to relax, excite and inspire you at the same time, which is what music is about. 24 carat gold guitar from Hank B Marvin.
Questo " Réunion" degli SHADOWS compagnando Cliff Richard rimarrà nella storia . Complimenti , anche le riprese il video , poi quando eseguono i brani le loro bellissime canzoni
Read a Story that Mick Tucker of Sweet. As a very young man and before Sweet existed, one of his first ever gigs was to Dep for Brian somewhere. He rated the guy so highly he was terrified.
@@one-minutemetal1290 you saying screw off makes you a boomer and i was only joking i have a deep respect for their music and they really helped me become a better player so 'screw off'
Sorry to be a downer. This song is so easy to play and doesn't take much to learn. In C major. Mainly four chords C,Am,F and G are used. Add a fifth chord D7 in the bridge. The lead guitar is literally part of the C major scale. I learned it when I was in primary school aged 10. I really do not know why Hank Marvin is revered so much as a guitarist. Simple tunes simply played. The drummer is basic. Bruce Welch on rythym twangs away on C, Am, F and G. Much of the Shadows music was simple and easy to play. Guitarist of that era like Chet Atkins, Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Chuck Berry, Clapton, Beck, etc were in a different league. Most of the Shadows songs were Grade 3 music level. Basic. Reason why they influenced many up and coming beginners was simply the songs were easy to play and it was a starting point before graduating onto the far more technical stuff like Hendrix etc.
Thank you. I felt the same as you. Watching this, looking at the audience who are clapping on 1&3 (instead of 2&4) then thinking of all the other guitar greats.
@@stacemantheaceman1501 Yup you are spot on. The only thing about Hank Marvin is that he was the "first". In the UK. But USA guitar bands of the era were far better than Marvin. The Ventures were superior. Scotty Moore who was Elvis' guitarist. James Burton. The guys that backed Bill Haley. Try playing that guitar solo in Rock Around The Clock at the time. I think many people in the UK underestimated how really good these people were. Hank Marvin was no doubt inspired by them because he like all of us had to start somewhere. Good luck and take care.
