I had a friend who was single in her 40s and was constantly complaining that she was single, but then speaking out that she would never be married. We need to have faith . God is good and not a man that he should lie !
@@samanthamueni6322 unfortunately the friendship was toxic and unhealthy, she would often criticize me and put me down and when I tried to address it she’d never take accountability so I ended the friendship. This was recently so I suppose it’s possible, she’s dating, but I doubt she’s married that quickly as it’s only been a month or so. She did have two adult children from former relationships

Things like this have me believing you deserve the godly marriage more than me, a 40 something year old single mother whose only child was by a man who did not love me and vice versa. I knew I wanted to be a wife and mother since I was a girl and have been cheated of my god-given dream. I want to keep hope alive, but I get so discouraged on my journey especially when I know there are ppl out there who I’d say should get it more than I should. 😔

I have been so discouraged honestly. I have prayed, fasted, believed and had hope but nothing and no one is on the horizon. The last few years I have seen all my close friends get married, the ones who I used to pray and fast with and pray for. I have been a bridesmaid so many times and I have cherished the opportunity I serve, standby and support my friends but each one has been a painful reminder of what I don’t have. I’m now in a place where I’m numb and finding it hard to believe it will happen for me (I’m 32). Your videos are a reminder to have hope, to cling to God and and believe even when I don’t feel like it. It’s so hard but I have a mustard seed of faith and even though that’s tiny, God can use it.

I just wanted you to know that I'm 38 turning 39 and had finally completely given up on marriage. I was planning to try to have a child on my own next year. 2wks ago i was cleaning and randomly I felt something tell me "watch some sermons on singleness" so I went to RU-vid and typed in "single Christian" and your video came up. It changed me. I've been saved since I was 12yo but singleness has always been a burden for me bc I watched 2 christian Aunts age to their 60s n never marry but desired it so bad. It became a severe fear from my early 20s. The way you broke down the Bible n our marriage desires gave me such clarity. You touched on everything I would use to support my belief that God did not want me to marry. But your videos changed me n now I am so confident that I will be married n have a family, but it started with me first developing an intimate relationship with God (learned from your video intimacy with God). That is the key bc that was what allowed me to wholeheartedly trust God. Anyway, thank you for this blessing. You are definitely anointed for this.

Actually I don't know why exactly, but many women who came of age in the early 20th Century remained spinsters and never married. I had three Grand Aunts just like that. They never married and lived together in an apartment. They were fundamentalist Baptists, and I guess they believed that sexual relations were dirty even in marriage! I wish I could have talked to them as to why they didn't marry and what they believed about God!
The only thing in the Bible that talks about people not getting married is if God has called them to serve him. That’s the only reason why he wants people to stay single. I find it interesting that there’s another scripture that says I would that every man and every woman have their own husband and wife the people seem to overlook that scripture.

To be honest, it seems God truly DOES play favorites according to HIS WILL who gets a mate and who does not BECAUSE He is God. My friends who are married are VERY happy and they do not deny it. I just don't understand why it has NEVER been easy for me to simply find/meet a date or girlfriend. My heart is broken and my dreams are shattered. Sorry, but I just CANNOT stand being single for life even if God INSISTS that for ME and I adamantly REFUSE to accept being single for life. I have done my VERY best to be strong and patient, I have prayed DILIGENTLY and had other pray with me over the years, to what seems like less than NO avail. Basically, I've all but given up.

I know you wrote this comment awhile back, but I'm replying because I've been in your thought process many times. I'm 35yrs old and majority of my friend are married with children. I'm a nurse, and have seen many nurses younger than myself get married and go on maternity leave and I'm left wondering when will it be my turn. I've just recently had a relationship breakup in a pretty horrible way. Anyway my point, I'm focusing on my own things while I wait(and in God, of course) and will never give up believing that God has a special man for me, as I don't believe I'd have thoughts of always wanting to be a wife and mother if God didn't wish this for me.Until then, I'm improving myself so I can be the best I can be for my future husband, and go ahead with plans and not stalling such as buying a house. This was so encouraging. Something keeps telling me to pray about this man I know; it’s been biting at me. I used to pray about marrying him; loving Christ with him; being his wife and the mother of his children. I began to lose hope but I never felt comfortable giving up. You know one thing I cannot stand is when people say “if it’s hard then it’s not from God.” That is ridiculous. I had to fight for my career for nearly two years after being accused and ONLY through prayer was I able to get through it. It was hard not knowing if I’ll still be in uniform the next day; but I was and I am. To Glory Be To God and His Power and His Mercy. If He can bring me thru that trial, then I know He can reconcile my relationship with the man I have prayed for before we even met: I knew he was what God had sent me. Thank you so much. Now I have what I need to continue praying for my amazing, Christ-like, handsome, goofy, future husband.❤️👰🏾♀️🤵🏻♂️
Well needed. The struggle is real. Everyone giving you advice that is not in accordance with God's word. It makes you wonder if something is wrong with you when everyone have their seasons. But God knows what is best and he gives good gifts. Never give up hope.

I just talked to and then got rejected in the first conversation with a woman who wrote in her bio that she loves discussing faith and spirituality as a Christian. I brought up church history and theology and then she told me flat out that I should talk to someone else because she takes no joy in discussing such things. Before her, I talked to a woman who had feminist theology that the Holy Spirit is female and that women can lead men in the church. I corrected her in a Christlike way and then she blocked me. There are so many women who claim godly men are rare or no longer exist, but when they find one, they are rejecting them when they come.

Sadly most ministries could not care any less if you ever marry! It’s the churches that teach that it just doesn’t matter if you get married, you’ll find something else to do with your life that have caused the most doubt in me. At my age I don’t know if I can overcome the doubt caused by the people who were supposed to help me.

I am afraid to pray for my marriage NOT because I don't believe he is good or doubt his ability, but because, even if I want it in my life, there's always the possibility that it might not be his will for my life. We never know. I've desperately prayed for many things that were necessary and urgent in life, but never really got one so far..(I didn't ask for worldly things out of lust. Mostly I prayed for my family's salvation and for provision) Maybe, what I am asking for is never really in alignment with God's plan for my life.That's why I am afraid to ask God. I feel like he's always ready to reject my prayer cuz my prayers are never good enough or in line with God's plan. So, it's not because I don't trust God or I doubt him, but it's more like, I don't or I can't trust myself that I am asking for the right thing. I NEVER doubt God's goodness or ability, but I ALWAYS doubt myself that I might be wrong to ask what I want. Because, as I said, almost everything I desperately asked for has been turned down. I can't bear another rejection anymore. Now I feel like it's better not to hope. When I hope for something and pray, I know it will be rejected again, and then I will turn bitter against God. Instead of turning bitter toward God, it's better not to hope for anything and not to turn bitter toward God. Back to the topic of marriage, I am already 38 and I will turn 39 in a couple of months. My brother is almost 41 and he is still not married too. My dad was 45 when he got married to my mom. I sometimes feel like my father was the last generation to be blessed with marriage (even though it was not a happy marriage for my mom). Me and my brother are still single and there's no glimpse of hope. I don't even know whether I should pray for it or not. Deep down in my heart, I think I want to have a family of my own, but then when I look at myself, I know my life is a mess and I am not ready for anything at this age. Knowing myself and my situation, I know it's better to live alone rather than making another person unhappy as well. I am not ready in every aspect, emotionally, physically, financially, and spiritually. In order for me to get ready to have a family, I will have to solve all the problems in life and I will have to work through all the mess which will take my entire life. So, I believe that God would not want me to marry because maybe he already knows that it's too much work for me. That's what I am believing at the moment and this makes sense to me. Maybe he doesn't want me to struggle even more than now. I totally believe that God is good and he wants to bless us, therefore it might be possible that he wants to bless my life as a single. So, I guess I will have to just accept what's given in my life and learn to be content with living as a single even though that was not what I wanted originally.
One night I was allowing delay, irritation and doubt to guide my thoughts about marriage; something I had been sincerely praying about. I said something contrary to wanting to be married and I clearly heard the Spirit of God say, “you’re like a wave of the sea.” He sounded disappointed. I know it’s hard, and I still struggle but it’s best to let the Spirit dictate our thoughts and not our carnal nature. God help us, you deserve our trust.
WHY does it ABSOLUTELY HAVE to be God's WILL and NO exceptions if I am to EVER find/meet someone special?!?!??!?! Do exercise, change your habits, open a Christian dating app, go to events for Christian singles people etc. If you think that your husband will come to your door, you are wrong, move on. how badly do you want it? and When do you want it? You must let him see you just as Boaz saw Ruth. but he won't see you if you only have faith behind the doors of your room. you must act.

What if I simply wish to be single. I used to think that I wanted to be married, but after I hit 50 I stopped caring and trying. I am in my 60s and single and celibate. I am actually ok with this lifestyle now.
I agreed 100% all you said! Each point, you developed with Bible’s scriptures . I tempted to get discouraged then I start praise the Lord and tell the devil that it’s not right and it’s a lie! I disciplined myself to remember each time, I wanted God to open that specific door and he did it! I would learnt later why things were taking so long. Right people at the right time and myself being ready to receive the blessing at the right time. All to say, I have been desire mariage for so long (I’m 45), no kids but I’m still believe that God will do it! I declare and degree that!! You have nothing to loose by trust him! Remind him what He said in Genesis being helper, remind Him that you’re the good thing that a man find in a wife! Funke: they can say you give false hopes but what do you have to loose if you do so? You pray about and you move on. Don’t focus on it and let our God surprise you in a big way! God is a good God! I’d it’s your desire, He will provide, ONLY if you believe 100%! As a believer there's 2 more benefits of staying single besides the gift of staying single and self-indulgence there's two bible verses saying avoid partiality synonym racism, low, high, rich, poor and there's one bible verse saying God sees all rewards good and there's one bible verse saying Gods word always brings results and the second benefit in relation there's one bible verse saying the Lord loves fairness one more thing there's one bible verse saying memorization results in deliverance and guidance (for 2022 singles)
What if I were to tell you I gave up dating cause God wanted me to do in that in my heart. I don’t want to date worldly women who are selfish and put their needs before God. It’s best that God puts her into my life naturally without me trying or making any effort to impress her. I want a Christ centered marriage life but God has to be in the center of it otherwise I’m just settling for disappointment later in life in which I will regret later on.
I do not agree about a person should prepare the life if they never get married even if they want to. That's smart. I've watched women in their 50,60 who have desired marriage, and they are not married to this day. A whole life wasted for what. And to make matters worse, married people look down on those people.
How about telling single adults that they're just fine being singles and that they don't need a spouse or romantic relationship to be whole, fulfilled, happy and complete! Churches do an extremely poor job ministering to single adults and it's no surprise that in relation to their exploding numbers there are so few single adults in churches!! Just more shaming aimed at keeping single adults unhappy!

I have been single for 12 years I mean how patient does God want me to be? he even gave me a promise dream 12 years ago that I'm going to be with someone amazing and that was 12 years ago I'm 42 years old and all my ex-boyfriends now have moved on with children even and I am in the same spot 12 years later still single and not in a serious relationship with anyone. Funke, thank you for this video. I am a Christian woman who desires marriage. I heard someone argue that God said it is not good for “man” to be alone and not “woman” and so women should be okay being alone. This hurt my spirit to hear this and I don’t agree with this opinion. What do you think?
Hi Ms A, thanks for watching. This is a great question. It is not ok with God for anyone man or woman to be alone or lonely. God cares equally about ALL his children. The bible tells us that God does not show favouritism (Acts 10:34). The reason God said ‘it is not good for man to be alone’ after he created Adam is because he wanted mankind to be fruitful and multiply and have authority over every living thing. Adam was alone and could not multiply and be fruitful on his own. It was only when God created Eve that they could have children and be ‘fruitful & multiply’ . I hope this helps. God bless

Even if the rapture is close you don’t have to go through that alone. I hear the same thing even from family. Then I thought why would God want me to suffer alone like this during difficult times in the world. I don’t believe He would.
The problem with being Christian and being single is that we have to turn to god. Why would god grant us a desire when there are people with much more urgent needs than us? If god doesn't give it to those, then I would certainly feel bad that god granted me a desire as superficial as marriage. I think the problem isn't really god's plan but the fact that most singles feel like there is something wrong with them and that god doesn't grant them favors (sort of like how Cain felt god favored his brother over his gifts). And to add fuel to the fire, most advice churches give is that they should atone for whatever is "wrong" with them and eventually god will give them marriage in time. So basically you're not married because you're wrong in the eye's of god, or so says the churches such as these kind of videos. If that is the case, then forget about god and instead go with your guts. God can't stop you from going out there and figuring stuff out for yourself. If you stick with god, you'll never figure out what is wrong with you. You'll just end up getting old and dying and facing god wondering why you weren't granted things in life and he would tell you, "I tried to tell you to go out there and get it but your idiot self decided to pray about it and now here you are. Way to go, champ."
