@@zerocool5395 it's actually not an easy definition. You can go to Wikipedia and learn more biology than I want to know to find out what the definition of women is. And then you will find that people don't always agree on definitions like I might call Caitlyn Jenner a woman but some people call her a man for some reason because they know she at one time did not wear dresses and have boobs. I would say the left is obsessed with inclusivity, the right is obsessed with putting people under definitions and categories so they can assign them a hierarchical value. OMG. These people who are weeping and see themselves in this have no first hand experience to carry on like this. They too are people of privilege. My favorites are Harris and Booker. My opinion of Judge Jackson, is very high, she seems to be very intelligent and admirable jurist. She sold me with her belief that the constitution is not a living constitution. I am surprised that she was even nominated by the Biden administration for this belief. I just wished that the Biden administration nominated her without the requisite that the judge needed to be a black women. That really takes away from the achievement. Instead what Biden did was send a message that the only way a black women can achieve a position of power is with help. She didn't need that help, she would have made it on her own merit. But that is the country we live in today, we have to make things easier and simpler, like dumbing down exams in school. Instead of lifting these people up we bring the system down. We need more Du Bois and Wells.

@@astrowuff the idea that I would 'see myself' in a white male judge, and then expect my side of a case before the Supreme Court to be given special understanding by the judges that look like me is ludicrous, I agree. But why is it OK the other way around? And if you think white men deserve inferior consideration in court by a black woman on the bench who favors black women to make up for history.... then what about Native Americans? A Chinese immigrant? A handicapped person? What does skin color and gender have to do with a judge and interpreting the law. Some of the most liberal and minority rights favoring justices in history have been those white men you condemn as some sort of stretch of wrongness. And Clarence Thomas is a hard core Conservative. So obviously appearance means nothing in a judge, its what's inside. Looks shouldn't. That's why the statue of Justice is blindfolded.
@C Rutherford why is it okay the other way around? That is a question only someone that is in the comfort of the majority can ask. I can say as a gay man, seeing openly gay politicians definitely gives me hope because I know at least they won't demonize me the way that Ron DeSantis and other politician pandering to the far-right conservatives do. And even though many straight people have granted us rights in the past, I do not think they really understand the hate and pain we endure from many areas of society. We live in a country where mostly all male legislators are wanting to take away rights from women's bodies and you ask me these questions. Well yes I can imagine that women would see more laws that would consider their lives and livelihoods if legislators were fifty-fifty or majority women. I have a sinking feeling that if you were governed in a country that was all women politicians or all some other race than you you would be moaning and whining about not being represented correctly and you would probably also be happy as a clam if you had one politician or judge you could look to that looked and thought like you even if sometimes the woman politicians sometimes passed laws that considered what all those men wanted.
