Seeing you bountiful crop it appears your use of the plastic pots are quite effective against the rats. I would have thought they would still manage to crawl over them. At what stage of the fruiting did you install them and apparently the fruit stems are strong enough to hold them. I struggled against rats with my Asian persimmons and used those fine netting bags but the darn still manage to chew over them. I see that you also have the common black netting but I found them so cumbersome
❤What s the variety of this Cherimoya. Is it Honey heart? Very good idea using recycling pot plants. Its quite big tree ❤Have you trimmed the branches yearly?
Just rewatched your video and I am still amazed at the size of your fruits. Btw my cherimoya tree finally fruited this year and I counted 25+ fruits. I doubt they will be large like yours but I am glad I have fruits! I am a big fan of cherimoya so I have multiple varieties now. And you are right that they grow very easily in the Bay Area.
I do have little ones that was just started this year in a pot. I need to divide the up which will take place in march. Not a good time to try to divide all the seedlings right now.
they grow like weeds in the bay area. Buy the fruits and throw the seed into a pot of soil. They will sprout like weeds. It will flowers in 2-3yrs. You will need to hand pollinate the flowers to increase fruit productions. Give it a try.You got nothing to loose.
@@mykvass they love it, that's why I use pot protection on the fruits. No need to protect moya trees in the winter. They do really well in the bay area outdoor.
@@CherimoyaQueen I'm in the bay area and mine are in pots now. I just lost 1 tree in a pot maybe drainage wasn't good . Perhaps they belong in the ground ?
@@mykvass need good draining. they hate wet soil, they stem will rot with wet soil. Drier is better. You put in ground, tree will grow faster and produce large fruits
started from seeds about 10yrs ago. So, it should be a unique variety. Everyone should grow cherimoya in SF bay area, they grow like weeds. Just sow the seeds in a pot, and watch it go crazy.
