Is it really a betrayal if he was never on our side to begin with? His goal, always, was to consume everything. If anything, he’s more generous to us at the end, letting us live longer
@@TheGreatDearLeaderJimPickens Which is a mistake. Because he could have recruited the Wrath as his protector. Instead the Wrath eventually destroys him. It also doesn't make sense why he just lets himself be killed by the Wrath on Zakuul and inhabits his mind. He should have used his Force powers to try to kill the Wrath and his children, knowing they would be a threat to his plans.
@@JohnCena-le1jj The Emperor is first and foremost, an egoist. He has survived centuries through inhabiting various forms, he views himself as invincible, his plans as infallible, any thwarting of said plan is temporary and simply a nuisance. He saw in the Outlander, Warrior, Knight, even Smuggler, a potential new vessel. He wanted the Outlander to kill him, so that he *could* inhabit their mind, use them to his own ends, and eventually take over their body, all the damage done to Zakuul between those two points was simply the cost of a makeover with a fresher, potentially more powerful body. Even if not more powerful, at the very least he kind of does hate the Outlander that much. The Knight killed him, the Wrath disobeyed him, Darth Nox/Imperius is a thorn in his side and also an interesting Sith, the Consular thwarted his Children, all the non-force users are simply nuisances that refused to die when commanded, that alone fascinates him enough to want to personally fuck them over. The very concept of any one of these characters being able to stand up to him is laughable, and the whole time he is preparing your body. If you take his power to try and kill Arcann in the initial 9 chapters, later you cannot refuse his help to save Lana, he will override the decision. He is taking a hold of your body, and letting him anywhere close to the driver's seat solidifies his hold over your body, which he does not grant powers to out of the goodness of his heart, or a perceived shared goal in killing his kids. The thought of failure, simply didn't occur to him. It was impossible. He had already won in his mind.
