How's it going do you think you could take a picture of your wires to your voyage regulator coming from the wire harness I'm have a hard time rewiring it there are no existing wire on my tractor
Hey Bud, just got a 4000 series 74 Ford looks like yours. Was wired as positive ground🙄 and they were jumping it from hot to the starter to start it😳. I replaced the regulator and solenoid as well as the main wires from battery to solenoid /starter. Also replaced instrument cluster and got new key switch. Attached the battery terminals and regulator started buzzing so I disconnected the battery. When I disconnected the lead from the positive terminal of the coil to the “I” terminal of the Solenoid the buzzing stopped. Then, because it was getting dark outside, I noticed the generator idiot light barely lit. I felt the bigger wire at the generator and it was hot, so I disconnected the battery. I noticed the low idiot generator light even when all wires to the key switch were removed. So I have a new generator coming. What do you think?
I didn't have to. when I started the tractor after installing the new regulator I checked with a volt meter and the battery was charging. if you install a new one and it still isn't charging I would try polarizing the field
Hi, having a charging problem on my ford 2910 tractor. replaced the alternator no change. I cannot read the address for the company in England where you obtained your regulator. I also have a multiple wire regulator but an alternator vs generator. would you send me the address? uk company you said. helpful video , thanks
