Hopefully this is a helpful video for those of you out there looking to do any work that requires removing the door panel. With small differences, this should apply to most modern Crown Vic & Grand Marquis. Thanks so much for watching!
You are a God among men. I cannot carry your children, but it would have been my honor to do so. God bless you, you gentlemen, scholar, baller & shot caller.
you helped me a lot, i was un a bind after a mechanic shop busted my door and my panel was messed up now i know how to fix it thanks. saved me minimum $80 not all hero's wear capes
Thanks so much man. Replaced my factory 6x8s with Infinitys along with another pair in the back and a 15" sub in the trunk (600W Kenwood amp in trunk). I also need to replace the passenger side mirror and window motor. You made it SO SIMPLE. Thanks again
A sincere thanks. You saved me an hour with your video. I got my three tools together (screwdriver, 7mm six point socket, torx wrench set) and opened up the drivers door to replace the riveted fasteners for the electric door operator using threaded fasteners with thread locking compounds. Great video and I must say you are generous with your time, simply a good guy.
What a perfect instructional video. I've got a 2006 Grand Marquis and I want to get to the inside of the door lock and spray. I can't turn the key in the door lock but the fob and the keyless pad will open the lock. Thanks for making my job easier now that I can see what to do. Oh, and go over to McDonalds and have a Big Mac and a chocolate shake. Eat SOMETHING. Put on a few pounds. Look like the rest of us.
Holy shit I didn't DJ Quales did RU-vid tutorials! For real though, thanks for the video man. Had a deer run into the side of my car and now the door won't open from the outside. After seeing your video this job will be a piece of cake!
Awesome man. I will be replacing the factory 6x8s in the front doors & rear deck of my Crown Vic tomorrow! Hoping it sounds phenomenally better after & louder after I finish. My current 18" subwoofer on a 3000 rms amp is so loud you just can't hear the factory speakers anymore lol. Btw I will be adding a 4 channel amp to power my 4 new 6x8s aswell. THANKS FOR THE VID AS I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT A TRIM PANEL TOOL WAS UNNECESSARY ON THE CROWN VICS DOOR PANELS.
Great video. Only thing I would add is to pop the handle out of the door card before placing it back on the door. I kept getting the handle too high where it engages to metal while trying to fenagle everything in place. When I did the other side, putting the handle in afterwards made re-assembly much easier.
Thanks 🙏 I need to get inside the door to figure out why my door handle doesn’t pop the latch when the outside one does this helps me get the panel off cheers
Hey mate what's your take on the handling in the snow? I've heard people say booth good and bad things but I'm curious if you have any experience with that.
If you're running all season tires, you can pretty much forget it. However, if you have a good set of grippy snow tires and some chains handy, you should be fine. Especially with a limited slip diff.
Looking to get a new driver front side door panel only seeing listings for 03 to 11. Assuming that means the size or mounting hook clip locations are diff maybe ? and will not fit my 2002 ?
Decent job at video that appears to have some planning into it, informative but not completely informative. First 30 seconds is a waste. Too much time. Could cover this in 2 minutes not 7. Would be more helpful if camera moved for close up, and should have shown the door switch from behind the panel. Good to mention the speaker. It's not necessary to unhook the window and lock swich. Better and faster mechanics minimize the steps and movement. Great that you listed tools needed up front- many people overlook that. Thanks for making it
So I'm in the market for a new car but can't figure out if I want a Honda Civic or Crown Vic. I'm just looking for something that's reliable and good in the snow. Given that you've owned both, which one would you say is better?
Well the Crown Vic won't get you too far in the snow without some chains or good snow tires. If a car that's good in the snow is really important to you, I'd get the Civic since it's FWD. However, if it isn't, Crown Vic all the way. Bulletproof cars! Really though, you can't go wrong with either.
+JarretP71 sorry for all comments but where you have that plastic vapor barrier I have almost a sound proof black material could very by year not sure.
