Looooots of work but that seems like a well made kit with those box sections. Going to be an awesome truck!

love the videos. Where did you get the bolt on hardware for the control arms at the end of the video? those are not BYC parts are they?

They are from outcastautoworks.com. The engine mounts and rear control arm mounts are from them.

What did you end up going with for a wheel and tire setup?

We found some 20 inch Ridler 695 on marketplace. The front fit great, I will need to run spacers on the rear.

Please tell me you're not really taking a Ford 9" out to downgrade to an 8.8". You can easily put discs on the 9"..

Sure am! Long list of reasons. #1 - it is my truck and I can do what I want. #2 - This was an open diff 9inch with 28 spline axles #3 - has a 5x5.5 lug which would cause us to us different wheels from the front as they are now 5x114.3 #4 - Gained a "posi" I put it in " " as it is a factory posi loc setup that is ~OK~ #5 - Gained 31 splined axles #6 - Gained disc brakes for the rear to complement the front. #7 - Cost! - the cost of the 8.8 was $140. a built 9'' would cost quite a bit more. Yes, a built 9 inch will always be stronger then an 8.8. However, with the limited funds and time this was a great option to cover a lot of our needs. Additionally, I know I will not be able to launch the truck. The truck is not being built for that, I am building it to drive it. It will be used to drive around town and to have fun with.

Doing a crown vic swap on my 64, but i can find the long frame bolts. Any ideas where to find them?

Sure can, there are two ways of thinking here. One is that they are one time use bolts and you should buy new ones at the dealer. However. I am the type that went to a local junk yard and took the bolts from a car. If you are looking for new I am sure o could find the parts number with some time.

Will the crown.vic. fit, work in a 50 f1 ?

@@philipschuetz4856 I don’t believe so. If I remember correctly it should work for 64 and newer.
