Ford Fiesta Trend Walkaround

Hello guys, welcome back to Car Obsession, and welcome to another walkaround. This time around I am walking you around the new Ford Fiesta Trend, a car some of you may remember I drove - albeit briefly - towards the end of last year.
Between then and now, the Trend has changed specification and now comes standard with LED headlights for the low beam, and it also has a choice of three engines and not just one. More importantly, it's now available with the award-winning 1.0 litre EcoBoost petrol, which is the engine fitted to the car you see in this video.
As always, in this video I walk you around the car, talk you through the specification as well giving you my first impressions. There will of course be a full review coming, so be sure to look out for that, but in the meantime, if you have anything you would like to know about the car, please drop a question in the comments section.

As a previous generation (Mk 7,5) Fiesta owner, I think that the owner's manual shelf is genius. Because of the unusual shape of the glovebox, mine ends up getting slightly bent by it. I wonder if they actually got complaints from people regarding that one particular issue, or if someone just had that idea all of a sudden.

I want this Fiesta in the U.S. I hope Ford changes course and brings us this, the Focus hatchback, or the new Puma hatchback 6-speed manual to North America.

I’m looking at getting this car for my first car. Is it cheap to run, insurance, tax and petrol. I’m looking at the 1.0 litre Ecobost because it has a bit more power than the 1.1.

Nothing about the controversial "wet belt" instead of a chain. There are too many stories of the belt failing after a few years, destroying the engine. It's essential to have regular oil changes using the specialist Ford oil. Some people have it done every year rather than the two recommended.

I'll ge honest, at the time of the review, I wasn't aware of that, but as it so happens I work in a car repair garage that specialises in Fords, so I know about this now. Thanks for watching 👍🏽.

Not bad for an 'entry car' , colour ok . Just one observation Aaron at 4.43 does that rear tailgate look out of alignment or I am being picky ?

Yeah, the Mk7 was the same, so I'm a little disappointed Ford did not really address it in the Mk8...

I'm confused by this engine, it says its an Ecoboost on the engine cover but where is the turbo? or have Ford totally re-designed the Ecoboost engine, just an observation as I have the 125ps engine on a 2019 Fiesta, although having said that this engine looks completely different to mine!

Is it not a eco boost engine without turbo? There is a 1.1 naturally aspirated engine

Hi Ethan, I'm far from an engineer or somebody with strong mechanical knowledge, but I THINK it's mounted on the right hand side of the engine. Thanks for watching.

All EcoBoost engines are turbocharged, the 1.1 NA engine does not wear the EcoBoost branding, it's the Ti-VCT. Thanks for watching.

Good video as always . I think Ford needs a new Fiesta asap . Moat of its rivals now do an electric version, where is Fords ? Looking quite dated now aswell . Come on Ford ,you're one of the biggest companies in the world , taking your customers for granted . The new Corsa blows this out the water . That interior could be from 10 years ago . You can get a rs line clio for 17 grand lol .

It only came out in 2017, the colour chosen here doesn’t do it justice. Try w frozen white couloir looks much more interesting

Only 292 miles left on three quarters of a tank .... I get around 460 miles when mine is full and about 345 miles where your fuel gauge is now .... Have you been ragging it you rascal ?

The previous Mk7 was much more sporty. They have made this new fiesta bland

Hi Forza223 Bowe, thanks for watching, and thanks for commenting. I think that's a bit harsh, the new Fiesta is still a cracking car to drive, and I wouldn't say it's bland by any means, don't forget the Trend is the base model, so it's not going to offer as much performance as other trim levels.

What is the point in showing the fiesta trend but then explaining it’s had over £2000 worth of extra spent on it. Not the review of the actual fiesta trend so this is pretty pointless

Hello James, thanks for watching, and thanks for the comment. I don't choose the specification for the cars given to me to review, plus these are options, you can either choose to have them or not. P.S. it's rare to be given a test vehicle that has NO options. I've driven dozens upon dozens of cars and I reckon I can count on one hand (maybe two at a push) the cars that came with no options whatsoever.
