supposedly from 1st to 2nd in launch control , there's no need to lift off the gas, ECU will cut power fast enough to shift Flat shift

I like this video even more because goddamn i love this car. Ever since they announced it, i knew Ford Performance was gonna cook something nice, and well from the feedbacks i get it's even better than expected ! I absolutely have to own one at some point in my life. Definitely in the holy trinity of hot hatches (Mégane 3 RS 275 Trophy-R, Civic Type R EP3, and well this mk3 Focus RS). The rear-biased AWD system, the crisp manual, the throaty 2300cc turbo engine, with the crackles, the toys (drift mode, launch control), the look insides and outside: this is one hell of a car ! It's so awesome i'm not even mad you say it's more fun to drive than the M2 lol

A crackle sound coming from the exhaust means you should get your car checked out, some cars are made to do it though. *It basically comes from unburnt / partially-burnt fuel igniting in the exhaust.* Now that tiny sound kind of 'resonates' and echoes out through the exhaust sounding like a crackle. So *in Sport mode, the crackles come because of the changed ECU mapping,* which allows more fuel in the engine compared too Normal mode. Which means low fuel economy in Sport mode but if you're in Sport mode you don't care about fuel economy anyway.

AutoTopNL I agree the RS is fun but it has some deficiencies-a track drive perspective 1. It weighs 1600 kg, too heavy for a small wheelbase hot hatch so, on long tracks withlong right/left handers One will feel the RS being pulled to the outside due to weight, to counter that if we apply throttle speed will bleed off because RS RDU will make car drift which is not easiest way to put lap times 2. Focus RS manual gearbox is not as fast as Golf Rs,Leon Cupra, Type Rs,BMW M2s manual gearbox, the shifts are super long specially between 1,2,3, will loose ~1s as opposed to others, also check 0-100 kmph times , Focus RS can barely do a 4.9s consistently 3. The engine hasa dead spot between 5500-6500 rpm, I drove this thing to max at Slovakia Ring, I found that between 5500-6500 rpm RS makes more sound but less progress All that said, if it was my money I too would put in on Ford only, but not Focus RS, the upcoming RS500 is what I am looking for, lighter, Tremec 6 speed manual for faster shifts, re calibrated ECU and RDU and suspension, and just 5000 Euro increase in price tag expected

Tab Tiurf The A45 probably has the most unreliable too honestly (even if the 2.3 EcoBoost is not a champ in that area too). Anyway the A45 is more like the equivalent of a Turbo S, while the Focus RS is like a Viper TA ?

+Kaisuke971 How do you even know that? There aren't even any confirmed issues with the M133 engines? A very few vehicles with the early M133's had a recall for a potential turbo problem which had to do with a wrong fitted oil tube. Not one confirmed engine fail yet. Only time can tell, but believe me AMG powerplants are solid as a rock.
