the mustang GT's shift are a lot more violent if put in Drag mode. It powershifts 1-4. Its even faster than in S+ not sure why they didnt use it on this video.
@@CarAccelerationChannel yeah I owned a mustang and loved that car. Mine was just an ecoboost, but power was good, handling was good and it ran great to 130k.
Mustang is faster by almost 3/10 of a second. Mustang is lighter and makes more power. Mustang traps 118 the Camaro 116. 2 mph. 12.1 vs 12.4. The 10 speed Camaro is just as quick as the 392 charger.
There are folks like me who cross shopped a stinger and mustang.I got a 2020 AWD stinger 3.3TT.I have had Fords before including a saleen and the reliability and Ford dealer kept me away. There are many top speed runs of both these cars and they are literally even--only advantage is on street tires with AWD I can get 2 car lengths (by the 1/8th)on most american V8s and they are unable to reel me in.I have vids of several races--including racing a buddies 600 HP kenny bell lightning.I ran a 12.7 on street tires last time I went to public drag night and that time was faster then all 6 modern 2015 to 2020 mustangs that were pretty much stock and also on street tires that wre in my so called bracket.
BTW you want a fast car.A used AMG 63 like a 2016 mercedes that a guy bought for 30k was running 11s and beating hellcats--ZR1s etc on stret tires. Those Twin turbo AWD AMG V8 mercedes are at the top of the food chain--that is when they are running and not sitting at mercedes for a 2k repair.
@@khronin My wife has a '21 Stinger GT RWD and it is an awesome car and it definitely surprised me how quick and fun it is to drive. Sounds like they are likely going to discontinue the Stinger which is a shame but I'm very happy we picked one up!
@@chrish8487 Yeah great car.It never gained ground--but KIA dealers near me--and we have a decent size club in ATl--they never had a big selection of stingers ever. The delaers would only have like 2 to 5 at most and many were RWD GT 1 and 2s in red and black.I got lucky and got mine--I wanted AWD after research and wanted a light color like grey or white because of summer heat.I think the biggest problem is folks like SUV's and CUV's.Once you get use to sitting up high and not worrying about ground clearance. Also SUV and CUV are now being made in performance models.Sadly If I had a choice between a Stinger and a high performance SUV--CUV I would take the latter--if they were near the same price.I wanted a CUV but the only one with similiar perfromance to a stinger was a GLA 45 AMG by mercedes but they were too expensive and reliability was sub par.KIA needs to stuf the 3.3 or 3.5 into a KONA and keep it in the mid 30 to 50k range.
As an AMG guy I give big props to the Mustang. For being a bit heavier and RWD, it hooked pretty damn good. I was hoping the AWD from the AMG will give it that nice launch off the line. Although, the Mustang would have to be consistent and hook off the line if it wants to win. Any spinning and it’ll have a hard time catching up. Great race tho 👏🏼
Let me tell you that with my Hyundai Sonata N-Line and we were already moving on a highway a MB AMG C-43 I kept him half a car behind until we couldn't race anymore.
FOR SOME REASON I FEEL THEY WERE SANDBAGGIN THE AMG...LOOK AT THE VID WHEN TNEY CROSS FINISH LINE ..BENZ LOOKS LIKE IT CAUGHT UP..AND STANG WAS GOING ABOUT 130..BENZ COMING AT 160..LOOKS FISHY
WHY nobody using launch control on amg, or even brake-boost launch? Hearing the sound carefully (exhaust note) .. to me seems like mercedes was launched without any of these.
@@The330racing he’s saying after the 10 speed is long gone it would be collectors item it’s transmission is impeccable with a E85 tune it can beat a gt350
@@The330racing they can be, there’s no certainty yet the next generation mustang will have a N/A V8, therefore this is possibly the last and most powerful version of the Coyote engine which can increase the value dramatically. Look up the value of a current gen mustang. Never in my mind would I thought I would sell my mustang for the exact same price i bought it new, 27k miles later
Perfect 10, this car needed this upgrade for years. Pretty sure many traded their old ponies for a V6 import. Now they finally are able to catch up and some.
that wouldn't be a fair comparison... the mustang would win hands down. almost a 100 hp advantage, similar weights.. about a second faster to 60mph a second faster in the quarter...
@@vipeboy2003 only if the mustang hooks……..it’s not a second quicker to 60 stinger around 4.5 can do 4.2 0-60 I’m guessing mustang is low 4s if hooks. Stinger does high 12s in the 1/4 mid 12s with parking brake launch.
@@MultiKeky I take my mustang to the track once a month and never have any issues with cornering, I’ve lapped faster than all the c43 I’ve encountered.
@@andrewb1538 Good to know that! I am actually looking for a sporty 4 door sedan right now and don't know what to buy! I've thought of m340i and c43 till now! Can someone recommend anything else I should test drive before making a decision?
That’s pretty impressive considering the Mustang was a convertible which is heavier than the coupe. Yes, those auto transmissions are the bomb but I’ll still keep my 6 speed in my Cobra.
Awesome video, as the owner of a 2018 2SS convertible Camaro, this makes me happy. Would also be really cool to see old vs new like an older 3.5 Camry vs the new 3.5 Camry. Some say the old is faster due to the tranny
Im actually impressed with both vehicles...for the c43 keeping up with the coyote in that first run and for the heavy convertable stang being able to take a c43 amg..that benz is a tune away from greatness
I honestly thought the AWD would be more of an advantage for the Merc. Great runs, tho. I can speak from experience. When that Mustang hooks well, it's a problem.
As an owner of am 800HP Whipple supercharged 10r80 2020 mustang GT with full suspension and tyre and someone who has run both C43 and C63S only the latter is quick. I'm quite convinced my pre supercharged 10r80 GT couple would of smoked a C43 and given a C63s a good run.
My god that wrap on the AMG is just awful looking lol. +50hp but -100 style points As to the race, I'm not an overly big fan of Mustangs, but that trans + 5.0 engine combo is no joke. Bang for buck it's killing pretty much everything. Great racing Sam and team!
@@layne4376 if someone can launch the Mustang properly then the Mustang will win, the Mustang does sub 4 seconds to 60 and runs high 11s in the 1/4 mile
@@the_batmobile0.4 sir, according to car and driver, the 10 speed mustang GT and the m340i are tied at 3.8 seconds to 60, however l, the Mustang GT edges out the Beemer in the 1/4 mile at 12.1 seconds compared to the M340i at 12.3 seconds
Not sure if you are doing it but break boost the c43 amg from the start I think that would have helped the launch a decent amount. Either way it’s a good race.
@@MrFpsdestroyer I think it would be a close race and would depend how the Mustang got the power Down. The Stinger beats the manual model pretty easily in the 1/4 but the 10 speed is a different beast
@@cwnapier67 I ran high 12.8s in my stinger stock, I have yet to run my 10spd mustang yet, but from what I hear they should be low 12s to high 11s, my stinger was great from a dig, but this mustang has nasty top end
In the mustang you have to switch the mode(sport, drag, etc...) before you turn the traction off. If you turn the traction off then change the mode it turns the traction control back on which robs you of soo much horsepower.
@@lilnicky131 It does. Although I believe there is still some advancetrac features remaining w just the toggle switch alone. When im up to some fuckery in mine, I engage track mode and then hold traction switch until it confirms that advancetrac is off w the dash notification and dash symbol
Back to back runs that Mercedes was getting slower and slower due to heat soak most likely. Actually very impressed how good it kept up. 384bhp? More like whp no way. Extremely impressed
@@mikexcanxjerk 2024 is the last year. Cause of bad sales. They only sold 900 Camaros last month. Ford sold 6k mustangs and dodge sold 5.9k challengers. It's been a slippery slope for the Camaro.
@@usz28 makes sense. Camaros has shit visibility, and look tight area. Camaro SS is coo, but im taking the mustang 5.0 anyday. Wouldnt mind a free SS though.
This one of my fav channels. I like how he does everyday cars and a lot of ppl can relate to these cars. I mean its nice to see super cars race but I can't afford those so a channel that has cars I can relate to Im all in. I have a 2019 charger scat pack
The 10-speed in the Mustang is amazing. I ran with them with a naturally aspirated V-6 and i can confirm that it can technically walk a Camaro SS at more than a quarter mile or so. The previous 7 speed trans Mustang was a complete failure----made lots of noise going no where. The 10 speed in the Stang is a real game changer.
I am AMG M156 engine guy and Ford Performance only. Unfortunately my ML63 AMG engine is acting up and so It's hard to decide now what will be faster than my M156 63 AMG 6.2L only I can think of is F150 Raptor R can beat any AMG's only the downside is limited top end because of the high ground clearance that's why I'm stuck which is which Ford or Mercedes-benz. Thanks.
I wanted to get the 10 speed GT but I really didn't like the change to the front, it looked like an angry catfish and I thought it looked horrible. You can tell how many of the shelby's kept the older lights and the newest GT went back and away from angry catfish headlights.
Didn’t expect that from the stang, good stuff. Although, I can’t stand these straight line races and prefer some turns. I like cars that can do it all, not just go straight really fast.
Great video. I have an 18 GT PP1 and the 10r80 is a real game changer but you really have to turn the nannies off to feel it because Ford's system just isn't as sophisticated as say a BMW's. It will aggressively pull timing at times. In Drag Mode it really shows what it can do.
Great content, keeps getting better and better. Do you know the altitude at this track? That would an interesting data point when racing naturally aspirated vs forced induction cars.
I'm surprised that the AWD C43 didn't do better from the standstill. Would love to see 60MPH to 130MPH on some of these tests but I realize you're a long ways from Mexico. This was a great video.
They are on a track so no need for Mexico, great of Sam to set that up for these videos, and it's not a C63 that would over power rear wheels and benefit from AWD.
