Ford Mustang GT350R Tribute | Best and Worst of the Past

We take a quick look and review of a 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback which was converted to look and feel like the original GT350R. It's almost impossible to put into perspective how far the automotive world has come since the 60s. However, while much has changed the fundamentals of what makes cars wonderful and fun remains mostly the same. While many are excited over Porsches, Ferraris and other exotic cars sometimes it's the basics that make all of the difference.

The intros from the Lexus LC, Hellcat, and now this, are my absolute favourites. Your camera-manning and attention to quality and clear audio is so underrated. Keep doing what you’re doing, it’ll pay off.

I completely understood what you guys were saying about appreciation for newer cars once you drive a vehicle from that time period. I have a 79 F150, it's been in my family since new, and I love it. The sounds, the smells, it's a complete time machine to my youth. But I tell you after driving it for a while I become uncomfortable. My back is sore, and my legs are bothering me (tall guy). Really makes me appreciate my newer truck with all it's doodads and customizable dohickers. We're so spoiled now!

My 1st car was a 1964.5 Mustang. No power anything, breaks steering no AC. Man I miss that car. It had an automatic transmission that would start off in second gear from a dead stop (if you chose 2nd gear with the shifter) it was for driving in rain and snow! I was one of the 1st cars to drive down Addison rd after the blizzard of 1979. All I had were rear snow tries and that transmission that would start from 2nd gear. Just whisper on the gas and it would push forward like a tank. It really was good in the snow for what it was. Like I said...........I miss that car.

Drove a '69 fastback to get racing gas like 10 years ago. The garage owner's toy, where I used to work. That 15 minute ride carved into my memory. It's not like being excited about riding a '15 corvette or some dodge charger in the past 10 years. Those are still just cars, Hyundai elantra with a bigger engine. It's more like getting on a rollercoaster ride, but you control the ride.

Great take, as always! In an unrelated topic- why don’t reviewers ever show what nighttime driving is like? Considering new lightbulb tech and fancy clusters, it could really make or break a car purchase and showcases an environment not yet tapped in auto reviews.

Mark did some scenes at night and the straight pipes did some driving at night, like with the S-Class they had. I guess it is super hard to film in the dark. But I agree, lighting should be covered more in reviews.

Excellent video especially the front hood shot when you were flooring it. My first car was a 1969 Ford Fairlane with a 302 in it. I changed the oil, change the starter motor. A few bolts and it was done. Adjusted the carb. Pouring gas down the barrels when the car wouldn't start and watching the flame shoot out. Do a tune up changing the plugs, checking the gap on the plugs, installing a whole new distributor. Those were the days. No computer so the government couldn't spy on you.

Hearing your friends (sorry couldn't find your names anywhere in the description) nervous laugh when clearly he reached that point of fear from being in the passenger seat of a car you know is being driven at potentially deadly speeds, brought me back to the old shit boxes I owned in my youth. Today a Ford Focus RS would wipe the floor with a car like this, but the nervous laugh might not come out so much..
