In this video I show you how to remove a stuck on blower motor fan with tricks I have learned that work throughout the years. Check me out on Facebook- / 651813524932940
We were really stuck today trying to get the fan off of the motor and yours is the only video we found that gave us the information we needed to remove it. We appreciate you SO MUCH!!! Thank you for the tips and for saving us $50 on a new one!
My blower motor just went out in my 1996 5.0 Explorer and I will be replacing it soon. Thank you for this video. This information will be of tremendous help.
I'm 41 years old I've been working on ford my whole life and I can't tell you how many of these blower motor fans I have busted. Tried your tip work like a charm I'll never do it any other way thanks for the advice man much appreciated.
You're a lifesaver! 90°+ and I'm having to put a new blower motor on in 98 CVPI. Was so frustrating. How did us driveway mechanics ever do this without RU-vid in the 70s?
This video was very helpful! My replacement motor didn't come with a new retainer clip so I was able to use vice grip pliers to pull straight up on the clip to pull it off intact and able to be reused
Definitely helpful, once I saw how this worked and what was important I sprayed a bit of lubricant and I took a flathead and banged on the motor rod itself while my gf supported the fan and it popped right off. I attempted the pry method but I knew I would probably break it. Thank you!
Thanks. I don’t think I would have got this off without this video. If there is corrosion on the motor shaft, clean it off before attempting to pull the fan off. You have to be patient just as the creator says. Also the flat style pry bars work better.
Thank you for getting me on the right track. For a minute I thought I'd have to buy another cage because it was stuck on so tight. I held the unit by the cage and tapped the shaft lightly with a hammer until the shaft was flush with the top of the cage then used your method the rest of the way.
Great idea. How old of a Ford truck is this off? I have a 1964 Ford f250 and I need to check to see if the motor has gone out since it will not come on with the switch in the cab.
Do you have a video on how to replace a Blower motor for 2007 Expedition with Automatic controls? Everything say pull 3 bolts....but that's not the case on mine.
I was confused regarding the clip. So I ended up using a pair of pliers to bow it into a concave shape to get it off, and then used a 5/16 socket to knock it back onto the new one. This was on a 1994 Cougar.
Thank you, i need to replace my blower motor in my Dodge neon, and no one sells them with that cage and except you no one shows how to remove that wheel/cage.
I have a question I have 2004 ford f150 the blower motor stopped working an my ac compressor. I took out the blower motor an tested it with a battery it worked fine I also checked the connection to it with key on the plug has no 12 volt power to it is there a relay that controls blower an ac compressor or a fuse. thanks for your help nice videos.
wooow 😁. it works like a charm with patients. i was clueless like a cave man. but i did it like tony stark(IRON man) way lol. with my thighs holding it and use a long screwdriver one side and turn and lift a lil and repeat 🔂.
I just got a bolt and tapped the motor shaft till it was flush. then a smaller bolt that fit inside the cage. came right off....from a 1990 Aerostar van. use a spray lubricant as well before u begin .
Most peeps are just getting aft. market ching ones with fans so they dont have to do this but i dont buy any of that crap ( autozone parts mostly dont even work out the box) if i can get oem. My quest, is though are you saying the fan is obselete ??? because when they get old they explode in the housing, but i def, want oem motor and ill buy, if have to an aft. market later just for the cheap ass fan. thanks ford tech, and if you can answer quest,........ are fans themselves (mine 2003 f250 5.4) obselete ???
For those who are removing this " wheel " as he describes , I did and I did another thing ... I took a hair dryer and blew it on the face of the plastic wheel ... blew on it with dryer for around 1.5 minute ... right ? It came right off applying pressure on it as video states to do . I guess heat helps
My 07 fusion does not have a cabin air filter, is it a good idea to open the blower motor housing to clean it? Do i have to pull out the dash to do that? Thanks
hahaha new clip :)... so another way is to ask a pair of hands to hold the fan and tap on the axle with a lil hammer, motor is fucked anyways so ... that always werks for me
If packed with enough dirt or debris to cause an imbalance yes but that was not the case with this unit. Here's why you don't want to clean it, you see those little black clips randomly placed on the fins? Those are balancing weights, do you really want to risk knocking those off by cleaning it thereby causing an imbalance and terrible vibration all because it looks dirty so you just couldn't leave it alone.
