While most of us wait for an AWD hybrid version of the Maverick, Ford is now shipping the most rugged version of their popular small truck: the Maverick Tremor. In addition to skid plates and all-terrain (and all-weather rated) tires, the Tremor borrows the capable AWD system from the Bronco Sport Badlands. Originally designed for on-road duty in vehicles like the Focus RS, the twin-clutch rear axle effectively becomes a locking or limited slip differential whenever the truck wants. Coupled with a more aggressive center coupling lockup and the Maverick is nearly as capable as a truck twice the price. Looking to go further off the beaten path in an easy-to-park truck? Check out the Maverick, but good luck actually finding one on the lot...
