Thank you for the video. It's the only one showing and describing the correct way to connect these lines. It is truly the only ones that helped me. Solved my problem

Thanks for this video man! This is the video that fixed my AC issue. After replacing the PVA solenoid, and vacuum pump I was scratching my head... Your video pointed out that the hose that goes, that rhymed, to the reservoir might be unhooked... it was... AC back up and running!

I'm one of those "I don't usually comment" people and I know this video is 3 years old but this helped me big time with the line routing. Was stumped. Your other videos have helped me a ton also. Giving credit where credit is due and saying thank you.

Raccoons and mice got under the hood of my 2006 Super Duty diesel and ate up some vacuum lines on the passenger side under the hood by the vacuum canister. I could not figure what went where. This video sure helps. Now maybe my heater selector will work as well as my automatic hubs.

Ford did it that way because when it breaks is far easier to repair than a cable system. It's easier to change out a simple switch or a vacuum line than a cable. It's also easier to engineer and cost less than running cables like it used to be done. When cables are run they have to be built, adjusted and repairs usually require a portion of the dash be removed. A vacuum system is easier to troubleshoot and repair as well, as you did yourself. Although reliability of both is comparable it's easier to run a line than build a whole cable system with plastic levers and brackets that require adjustments. Most of this also applies to the 99-2005 systems as well, with the main difference being the vacuum operated heater valve, those aren't on the 99-2003 Super Duties. But made a nice addition for colder air when installed. Thanks for sharing though. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

Thanks for posting. Short and to the point. I always wondered what that box was. Never knew it was a vacuum reservoir.

Very helpful. My vacuum pump had failed, possibly because there is a vacuum leak. Replaced the failed pump, still no help, then noticed the hose from the reservoir to the pump had been chewed through by a rodent. This tells me I have a lot more to check because rodent nests removed from the engine compartment are sickening.

Thanks, Helped a lot bro with a 2006 450 I bought for hot-shotting. It came with the HVAC unit out, and a tagged used one on the back seat. I see lines coming off the dash selecter switch, but tomarow will try to see why they don't appear in the vent area.

Thank you for this video. My '03 Excursion 6.0 had quit blowing air anywhere but at the windshield (defrost mode) When I looked behind the glove box, I saw the metal shaft of the diverter device, and sprayed both ends with wd-40. The diverter immediately began to work again. Close to 200,000 miles when it started not working. I am thinking lint etc. Thank you!

Great video. Thanks for making it. Sometimes its hard to find information on some of these little systems. It took me to days to even find out what the vacuum reservoir was. I kept Google things like ovel box next to battery ect. But i eventually found it so thanks. I only have a 2wd so I have a few less hoses on mine
@renohuskerdu4592

Mine is 2wd so only one circuit to diagnose. The pump was running full-time. AC stuck on defrost. Turned out to be the vacuum hose connections behind the glove box. Big old feet guy had been sitting there last night.

Unfortunately I had a rat that ate my vacuum lines for my truck. Nobody seems to be able to tell me where these lines enter the firewall. All I see are the nubs at each connector where my vacuum lines used to be. So they might be rare to fail, but if you get a rat under your hood, they fail quite readily.

Hey boss, I've watched a few of your videos. I'm new to diesel engines, just bought a 04 excursion. Doing my research and wondering if you would be up for a under the hood tour so to speak. I have looked around trying to find info on this but cant bring myself to watch anymore 18 year olds that have no mechanical ability make another video about what they did to there dads old truck 😂.

Where does the black vac line from behind glove box connect to in engine bay, my 05 f350 only has whit and grey from the vac connector right behind glove box but has all 6 between the connector and the Manifold for the eatc.

so i have been having my AC only coming out the defrost. I tried trouble shooting the 4x4 hub line and it made no difference. I ended up directly connecting the pump to the HVAC line going into the cap and still nothing....What could be the issue? I looked at the vac lines behind the glove box and they all look intact and connected. When I manually actuate the floor vents i get air through there.

Mine works great until I'm on a long drive and then about 2 hours into the drive it trys to switch to the defrost if I unplug the black white and I plug the blue red yellow into the black white then it goes back to working for a little while and then stops again. Did you have to replace the vacuum control that the blue yellow red connects to?

I am having this problem with my 99 7.3 . the vacuum pump does not work unless I take the hose off. the one that goes to the reservoir from pump. if I let that hose unplugged the ac control will work normal. do you think it's the reservoir tank or pump? if you could help thanks on advance
@CtrlAltDefeatTV
@CtrlAltDefeatTV 6 лет назад
With the vacuum pump removed from the system your HVAC system works normally? I find that pretty odd, if the vacuum pump is removed then your HVAC system should default to defrost mode and it won't change to any other blower position.
