Had my Transit Custom for 3 years now. 120,000 of hard hauling including towing at 1800kg across the state and always loaded. The safety features, comfort and drivability are far superior to other equivalent vans in my opinion. Not a single drama in that time. Only downside is being Front Wheel Drive they can be hard getting traction up an incline in the wet when loaded, even with minimal throttle. Apart from that, will definitely get another new generation one as a replacement
In practical terms, probably makes more sense than a ute. The second row of seats are removable ??? making a decent load area, as well as keeping your stuff out of the rain and out of sight.
i have a 2018 model - the three rear seats do not fold down - do the rear seats fold in the new models ? It would be a real bonus if Ford provided the option to have them fold for long items to be carried ...its the only thing I would change on the van.
Does the DCIV Custom Sport come standard with sliding doors on both left and right of the car please? I can't see that it does on Ford's brochure. Liked the review too. Thankyou.
Signal lever on left side should be on right side of wheel. In single cab, its hard to see & judge left side on coming traffic on T junction when we do turn right & wait in divider to enter into lane while looking to left side traffic.
How do these reviews miss basic stuff, like you can get it in two lengths, even in DCIV, you can ordera lift gate if your prefer. The brake pedal is stupidly higher than the accelerator. The turn signal is on the wrong side even though ford fixes that with all their other products.
@Master Yoshi You said you traded in your "trusty old one" Maybe your newer one was a one-off as far as reliability goes. Maybe most of new ones are trusty and reliable.
