This was the beginning of the end for full sized family sedans, Buick, Chrysler, Cadillac, mercury, lincoln but thank goodness some have gotten a second life as desirable items in private car collections..

I have a 2001 Grand Marquis with 103 on it. Have a 1996 Crown Vic that is cherry, had 52k when I bought it. I love these cars. Yours sounds great with that color and package.

I love this. And it’s amazing how the early 2000’s now looks older than the 80’s did in the 2000’s. In fact, the early 2000’s looks like the late 60’s did back in the early 2000’s lmao. To be fair though, it may just be because I was 3 (the first 4 months almost) and 4 years old in the year 2000. So what do I know

I rented on to take to the Indy 500 once. Heck of a ride. Was this the last front bench seat?
@keithbassett4988
@keithbassett4988 Год назад
Heck of ride, indeed. Quiet comfort, performance, built with multiple safety features to give it ***** safety rating and get you there in style with the Mercury flagship that is the Grand Marquis. Those huge 'Twin Comfort Lounge' front split bench seats with plush and well padded arm rests were standard features on Grand Marquis all the way back to the mid 1970's. For people who had a large family or traveled with a large group this was a huge selling point. Because back in the 1970's alot of American full size sedans had full bench seats up front with one huge center armrest that folded out of the seatback. These old beauties may be relics of a bygone era.....but they are NOT going quietly into the night like some of the other American cars did in 2008....ie, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Saturn, etc. C'mon MGM guys and gals......make soME NOISE!🚗🚘🚔🚓

i noticed the 98-02 generation kinda had a retro stying cue with the grill pattern since it resembles the 79-82 models

The only one of it's kind, it stood out in value and performance versus it's competitors at the time which were Oldsmobile 88, Buick LeSabre, Chrysler Concorde, Dodge Intrepid and Toyota Avalon which were all V6 powered front-wheel-drives.

Think this is a beautiful car what was sad at that time was 12 years old and younger when these cars out never got a chance get my hands on one of these cars. I always liked the looks of these cars though was a Ford still was great Mercury it might had been for our elders at least younger buyers could had enjoy driving such smooth highway ride having dependable car last 300,000 miles. If I was grown way back in 2001 took a trip to the Ford Lincoln Mercury dealer bought a Grand Marquis probably 21 years later she would had still been in my care. I am a huge GM and Ford fan was truly the end of all these great cars really loved Buicks and Mercury's talking the bigger cars but the Grand Marquis was one of a kind.

Here's what the man said; Let's look at the brand's four keep attributes: Accommodating and Spacious - best in class interior room and cargo capacity Safe and Secure - large size and commanding presence Smooth Responsive Driving - Drivers in this segment are confident, accomplished. They know what they want. V8 power and rear-wheel drive. Classic and Enduring Design - "A taste of luxury." Now it's time to let BJ Killeen to give us an in depth look at the features and benefits... Anyone else say, 'what"; when he said her name? And then say 'oh' when she strode onto the set?

So the car checks to see whether you’re wearing your seatbelt when deploying the airbags? Airbag be like: _If you’re not wearing a seatbelt, you’re on your own!_ ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯ (Catapult)
@straightpipediesel
@straightpipediesel Год назад
If your seat belt is unfastened, then the airbag deploys at max baby-decapitating power. US regulations, to this day, require airbags be tested on an unbelted dummy in a 25 MPH crash. To meet that requirement, early airbags deployed extra hard. That protected unbelted people, but had a tendency to kill kids and small women. The next generation was the smart airbags they described, so if your seat belts were fastened, it would take a harder crash (dual threshold) to deploy the airbag, and then it would use lower powers. (In Europe, they put smaller, cheaper airbags in and said no seat belt, then ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯)

4:05 I don't think this actually happened, I can't find a picture of a 2001 Grand Marquis with wiper stalk lights. Since when did American cars have headlights on the stalk? Maybe they had a surplus of Mazda stalks lying around.

The whole car was dated when new... full size sedan, body on frame, RWD, V8, bench seat... that's why old people bought them. That said, they were great long distance cars, especially as a passenger, as long as you weren't paying the gas bill.

Her delivery sounds like she is rushing through a script without really considering what is being said.... not very polished. In addition, it feels like she isnt looking directly at the camera but to an autocue to her left of the camera, when she is speaking from the driver's seat. As for the use of "prospects", it comes off as very impersonal and vulture-like... :-) Great to see this video...

Some of the better ones to get are government non patrol cars. Like what a detective or fire department would have. They're still Police Interceptors but don't have the cage, lights or abuse.
