Forget LG G3 & Samsung S95C… This OLED TV Measures 𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗧 with Less Afterglow (Panasonic MZ2000)

We review the Panasonic MZ2000 OLED TV whose MLA panel & bespoke multi-layer heatsink allowed the television to measure brighter than the LG G3 & the Samsung S95C up to 25% window size at D65 white point, while exhibiting less image retention.
Our review sample is the 65-inch Panasonic TX-65MZ2000B (the UK 3-pin-plug version), but our findings should also apply to the smaller TX-55MZ2000B. The larger 77-inch Panasonic MZ2000 is not equipped with an MLA (Micro Lens Array) OLED panel, and so won't be as bright.
The "Includes Paid Promotion" message in this video refers to the sponsorship by British AV retailer Richer Sounds. If you're interested in getting the Panasonic MZ2000, please support this channel by considering buying from them:

@@winstonwolff Of course they do. There are even laws against company espionage and employee pouching. It is even normal for companies to also pay for feedback. And all those 'tell us why?' or 'tell us what you think' questions after nearly every transaction a customer has with a company. And all companies keep an eye on the competition. You really think Samsung has absolutely no idea what Sony is doing? Or that Intel is oblivious of AMD? You can even find interviews and documentaries showing companies buying competing products and trying to reverse engineer it and study it. That's basically the entire meme behind China's 'R&D'. Big reviewers also get first hands on and their feedback is taken into consideration. Some reviewers and companies themselves will even tell you that they listened to initial feedback before the final launch. Some products change, some even get cancelled all together due to negative feedback.

Panasonic make excellent TVs. I have a feeling that if they released their TVs in more major markets that they'd give LG and Samsung a real run for their money in terms of being a top brand contender. Even Panasonic's LED TVs are excellent. They're also the only brand that fully supports all the HDR formats. If this TV had four full HDMI 2.1 ports I think this would pretty much be the perfect TV to have.

Burn in is all about accumulation over time, not singular instances. An image left on an OLED screen for 5 minutes every day for a month will cause more pixel deterioration than an image left on an OLED display for 2 hours at one time. Of course, there are more factors that go into the equation, like heat... But the gist of it is that burn in accumulates over time. You may already know this, but given your last sentence I figured there's a chance you don't. Definitely important to know. Also, sorry about your display. That sucks! OLED simply is not good for displays that will have static images. My last 3 phones have had burn in from the status bar/keyboard. Great for movies and varied gaming though!

Vincent are you able to explain why WOLED and QD-OLED TV's and monitors have such aggressive ABL with under 200 nits 100% white window when stuff like OLED laptops/phones/tablets can easily hold over 300nits at 100% white. Are LG Display and Samsung just playing it too safe wanting 5+ years out of TV's and monitors VS more disposable devices such as laptops and phones? Would increasing 100% to say 300 nits really increase the burn in risk or just more temporary retention? Aggressive ABL is really holding alot of people back from buying OLEDs for pc use as they can handle slightly blurry text but Microsoft Word hitting 130 nits is too jarring. A good video idea to discuss perhaps 💡

Panasonic was my favorite brand of consumer electronics till they gave up seriously competing in the US. I wish we could still get their top tier gear. Even my panasonic ae4000 projector throws out a great picture these days despite being "merely" 1080p, but the picture is great. ....doesn't compare to the 77G3 that I use as my main home theater display these days, but its awesome for its age.

A95L it is. Panasonic NEEDS a new chipset, I imagine 2024 NZ2000 to finally shift to Pentonic 700/1000 which will see a large uplift in image processing, no more dodgy color banding and near black gradation

I am looking for a TV for my bright and big living room. Looking for 65 or 75 inch models. I loved how Sony picture looked like in store however worried about peak brightness. I am looking at the 2022 XR A95K. It looks fantastic though expensive. Mainly looking to watch movies and shows. Have a 5.1 system with sound bar for immersive sound. Is the 95K an overkill? Which one would you suggest? PS: Currently have a 3/4 year old Samsung QE55Q85R - QLED but not satisfied anymore with the quality and brightness.

This Panasonic MZ2000 may just be the go to TV for people looking for a insanely good 65" or 55" sized Oled. As for 77" models the A95L or S95C would still be the best choices this year, with all the Gaming problems the G3 has this year.

Why would they not put MLA in the 77 inch version??
@hdtvtest
@hdtvtest Год назад
@RobertNicholson-kh2lk: The official line from Panasonic was that the inclusion of a 77-inch MLA panel together with its bespoke heatsink + comprehensive in-TV audio system would have pushed the price so high that the company won't sell enough units to justify producing the TV in the first place.
