Forgive Me Father - Lovecraftian Occult Zombie Apocalypse FPS 

oh man, that headshot mechanic where the zombie who carries a head actually puts on that head if they lose their actual head is a pretty cool idea. Definitely something unique I've never seen another game do before.

An Aspergillum is one of those lil rod/mace-looking things priests use to sprinkle holy water. You see them a lot in like exorcist movies and certain holy ceremonies at church. Which makes sense since the item description says it briefly stuns your enemies.

The darkness-for-eyes and the simple backgrounds are definitively Darkest Dungeon vibers, oh and the narrator.

Ok, right off the bat I'm concerned for the hostel that has flammable barrels in the hallway and that my first reaction to hearing knocking at a door was to grab a knife and gun.

the gun play and the music is great, hell the map is well made and the quantity of enemies is just right. Plus the animation and details are just fantastic, no wonder it's doing great at launch.

Reality vs. game-balancing: Through equivalent-length barrels, the Thompson and C96 rounds have similar energy. However, the Thompson's longer barrel results in appreciably more energy being imparted onto the bullet. What's more, the bullet's larger diameter makes it more effective at transferring that energy to the target on impact. Net result: the Thompson should do a lot more damage per round. The game-balancing has dictated otherwise.

This looks like a TON of fun, it might be exactly what I need right now.

I feel like the shotgun upgrade is overkill. You're wasting 3 rounds on one enemy at a time. If it were me, I think I'd wait until I started encountering tougher enemies to upgrade it, and maybe go for the SMG upgrade instead.

I love the style of the intro - beautiful art style, great sound design, and a cool voice over. I dig it! Kinda reminds me of the old "Thief: The Dark Project" style of mission intros. So good.

The gameplay is nervous and just satisfying it's awesome. The art style works wonders and the mechanics of the genre are as well understood as they are implemented.

This game is really good and the skill tree is well done. Love how you can completely change how a weapon works, my knife, for instance will one shot zombies now and it’s great in cramped areas. It just shreds.

For the record, Splat, while somewhat revolutionary for it's time, the C96 (aka: broom-handle Mauser) was rendered basically obsolete within a decade by the Luger and other more modern weapons of the time. By WWI, it was, at best, a reserve weapon for the major powers. The Chinese warlords did seem rather fond of it, though.

Great video man🙂 Skipped through it might just buy Forgive Me Father. Love the art style, atmosphere, blood, gameplay but are most enemies one shot kills? Is it challenging throughout the game? How long is the campaign? Never played early access but is it worth full price?

Oh, yes, getting shot, even with a vest, hurts. The vest keeps the projectile from piercing you but all the kinetic force will still hit you.

I dont know about you guys... But the head shot ratio! Impressive

The game looks good but the low vertical FOV angle bugs me; looks like its a side-effect of the no letterboxing option. Bouncing back and forth between the two videos, yeah, there is a noticeable zoom in and UI element size increase in this letterbox-less play vs original with. With video at fullscreen, on my 2560x1440 monitor, the player character's hand is nearly a full inch wider on the screen than on the original letterboxed video. So that's kind of ass. They apparently can't not apply the letterbox to the screen, probably because of when it's applied to the rendered image, so they just crop around it and zoom in to cover the selected resolution, screwing up FOV in the process. They also counted on having the black letterbox to allow the weapon name and ammo count text to stand out, but being that it's white text it can wash out on light colored backgrounds pretty easily, such as the word "Revolver" not being clearly visible while superimposed over the player's hand for the majority of the first 7 and a half minutes of video. They need to add borders to the weapon name text just as they did the ammo count. Also the player art in the corner, they added a hat and removed wrinkles from the priest for... no reason.

There's no way in hell I could play this because of the way the camera leans and has inertia when you strafe. Why devs put that in an FPS without the option to turn it off is a mystery. It makes me nauseous just watching someone play it.
